Every Picture Tells a Story
I was recently released from prison after spending seventeen years behind bars for a crime I prefer not to discuss on this medium. Needless to say, upon my release I had a lot of catching up to do. Movies and TV shows I'd missed, learning about fads that had come and gone, understanding the difference between HD-DVD and Blu-Ray, and most importantly, seeing what my beloved New York Jets had been up to.

I've been a diehard New York Jets fan (J-E-T-S Jets! Jets! Jets!) ever since my grandfather introduced me to them as a child. My buddy Tim was kind enough to record every Jets game on VHS while I was in the slammer, and I've recently had the time to sit down and watch those games.

A few weeks ago it was time for me to watch the 2008 season. Tim told me that I should read up on Brett Favre since he was going to be the new quarterback for the team heading into that season. I didn't know much about this Favre guy other than the fact that he used to play for the Atlanta Falcons, and later the Green Bay Packers, but I was anxious to learn as much as I possibly could about our "new" quarterback.

Because I was still new to this whole Internet thing, Tim ordered me the book, "Favre: The Total Package" from Amazon. It arrived just in time for me to read it before watching the 2008-season games.

I knew I was in for a treat as soon as I read the dust-jacket: "'Favre: The Total Package' paints the full picture of Brett Favre -- fan favorite and all-around great guy."

They weren't kidding -- the book was fantastic!

It featured essays from top sports writers, amazing photography, even a pricing guide for Favre memorabilia and collectibles (if you're into that sort of thing). The exclusive limited-edition hologram card of Brett Favre was a nice touch, too.

Since the book was published in 2008, before his season with the Jets, I wondered what else there was to learn about Favre since the 2008 season. Was he even still playing? Last I heard he had retired.

Curious to see if a second edition of "Favre: The Total Package" was now available, I took to Google to see what Favre had been up to recently, typing in "Brett Favre" and "total package."

Evidently, a Brett Favre biography published in 2008 is the best biography.

Great gift for Packers and/or Favre fan!

Okay book, but large "scratch" on cover
Book arrived quickly, but we were disappointed to take it out of the package and see a large (about an inch long) red ink mark on the very front cover of the book (upper right hand corner).Even after getting the red pen ink off, the scratch/indentation of the line from the pen mark still was there, and quite noticeable.
It was too close to Christmas to mess with returning it, so we kept it and hoped, since we were giving it to a guy, that he wouldn't notice or care as much.
Very disappointed in a product that was not in "new" or perfect condition.

Great photo reference book
This large well produced book is a great photo reference book on one of the great modern quarterbacks in the game of football. The photos in the book are crisp and vivid (many worth framing). Truly a must have for any serious Brett Favre fan. Would make an excellent addition to any comprehensive personal football library.

Fans Must Own
This is an accumulation of many letters written to Brett Favre upon his 2008 retirement. Of special interest is a section from other football pros. Lots of Bears defensive players are very complementary about how hard he was to defend against. Some of the letters are from people who met him, so there is a vicarious satisfaction in reading those.

A nice thing about this is no one is hostile about him leaving, although many are sad. It is a great book to curl up with when you are missing the Favre days at the Green bay Packers. The author and two fans who started it all did a great job.
