Excerpt: Arena Football: Road to Glory is a PlayStation 2 video game developed by Electronic Arts (under their EA Sports brand). It was released on February 21, 2007. The cover features fullback/linebacker Bob McMillen, from ArenaBowl XX's champion team, the Chicago Rush. The game includes all the rules, rosters, and teams for the AFL season. For the first time the Arena Football minor league, af2, is included in the series. All of the teams that are competing in the 2007 season are included. EA included the teams from the af2's 2006 season (order they appear on team-selection screen). Players can pan participate in full seasons in the af2 including the Arena Cup game. The following teams were not included because they were expansion teams. The reason for these teams not being included most likely was that they had few or no players on their roster or that they were not announced in time when this game came out. EA has included 38 historic teams in Road to Glory. There are slots for 40 unlockable teams, the other two being the Arena All-Stars and Champs Sports All-Stars. These teams are unlocked through completing certain goals in the game and can be viewed in the user's milestone menu. ... More: http://booksllc.net/?id=9633307 ... Read more

NFL sensation Kurt Warner tells the incredible story of faith and perseverance that captured the hearts of millions and rocketed him from obscurity to become MVP and Super Bowl champion in 2000.Amazon.com Review
After being cut by the Green Bay Packers during training camp in 1994, Kurt Warner found himself working the graveyard shift at the Hy-Vee grocery store in Cedar Falls, Iowa, and living with his girlfriend Brenda and her two children in the basement of her parents' house. Just over five years later, Kurt completed his journey from supermarket to Super Bowl when he led the St. Louis Rams to victory in Super Bowl XXXIV.

In All Things Possible, Warner tells the story of his life both on and off the field, and the faith that keeps him going through bad times (scraping up $1.95 in change to buy gas to make it home in freezing weather) and good times (being named Super Bowl MVP). As an outspoken Christian, Warner peppers his gridiron reminiscences with expressions of his beliefs. Indeed, he sees this book--and his success--as "a forum from which to share the values, lessons, and faith that made it all possible." Add this to his list of achievements. --M. Stein ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Put "first things first" first --
"first things first" is my second book this month about the people of football. As I said earlier, I am not a football fan, but enjoy reading about people who have made a lasting impact on others.Kurt and Brenda Warner have done this.

Beginning with their first meeting, the books gives a glimpse into their family of seven and "rules" that allowed it to work.Though the "rules" have not been written down - other than a lopsided summary given by the kids as transcribed by a New York Times reporter - the family has allowed life to work for them.

Though Kurt Warner took his time understanding what faith was all about, his decision came, not so much of the testimony of his future wife, as the patient teaching he received from his teammates. But once the decision to follow Jesus was made, it obviously became the core of his life:before his team, before his family, and before his wife. Not to diminish the role of his team, family, and wife - but he had to place first things first.

But the book is not just Kurt's story, it is also his wife's.Each chapter address similar issues of life - first from Kurt's perspective and then from Brenda's.As they lay out the day, Kurt discusses the pattern that defines each day as the kids get ready for school - both in and out of football season. Brenda follows up with an acknowledgment that, with a large family, the pattern that works for Kurt, can, in real life, become quite hectic. The book is an attempt to get a real look at a very real family.

Reading the book has given me an increased appreciation for my wife - and all that she contributes to mine.Though our kids are all out of the house, I learned much of what it means to be a husband in a modern family. If you love football, if you love your family, if you are struggling to make your family work, "first things first" will better prepare you for the job.

This review is based on a free copy of the book received from Amazon.com for use on my PC Kindle App.

5-0 out of 5 stars Inspirational read
I've been wanting to read this book for awhile, so I was excited to see it offered for free on Kindle last week. Just finished reading it and must say that I loved it! Both Kurt and Brenda offer down to earth examples of how to lead a Christian life. They don't just preach it, they live. Also with 7 kids, they have plently of stories to tell! Enjoyable, easy read.

5-0 out of 5 stars Parenting can be fun
This book was sometimes humorous and sometimes serious, but I enjoyed reading about this family's rules for living.Kurt Warner, the famous football quarterback, and his wife Brenda take turns writing about how their parenting rules affect their lives.I have grandkids, and could see how these rules would come in handy in any family, or modify them to make them "your own".Thoroughly enjoyed this book.

5-0 out of 5 stars Inspirational
This book is a must read for parents of special-needs children. The Warners are an amazing family who share their secrets to holding it all together. Their focus is on instilling solid values into their children, something a lot of parents struggle with. I also admire their commitment to charity work. I would recommend this book to anyone raising a family, even if you aren't interested in football.

5-0 out of 5 stars Amazing Role Models

1-0 out of 5 stars I couldn't even finish
I love books.I love St. Louis.I love sports. However, I could not even finish this book.I got it for 50 cents at the library and was quick to realize why the previous owner was able to part with it.The most enjoyable thing was that the book is so bad that someone wrote tiny notes towards the end about how pointless most of the stories were.

1-0 out of 5 stars Worst book I have ever purchased
I live in St. Louis and love both the Rams and Kurt Warner.I bought this book expecting to find out information on Warner and the magical season, but got rambling ... instead. The book is one chapter after another of people telling stories about themselves, some of which do not even know Warner.I bought the book at a local grocery store that had a huge promotion, selling copies at half-off the list price.Good books do not sell for half-price immediately after being published. It is not worthy of a match to burn it.

1-0 out of 5 stars Kurt Warner: And The First Shall Be Last
I'm a big Kurt Warner fan, both as a football player and a peron. However, this book is almost degrading to him. Although everyone quoted speaks highly of Kurt, the author's presentation is extremely poor. It reads like he taped interviews and transcribed them word for word into a book. Very boring.

1-0 out of 5 stars Weak effort. No Super Bowl for this book.
I am a huge Kurt Warner fan. However, this book was terrible. It seemed that it was thrown together so it could get to market quick. I wouldn't want anyone to waste their time with this. I normally don't try to trash items that people put a lot of work into. However, I don't feel there was lot of work put into this project. The book consists of stories/letters from people that new him. Most stories are disjointed at best. Sorry Kurt. Just don't feel this book is worthy of your achievements.

5-0 out of 5 stars The intence biography of Kurt Warner
I think that this book is one of best Kurt Warner Biographys of many.I would requst this book to a person that likes sports. Also I would say that you would have to would have to know some things about the sport of football. There is alot of terms that only the people that like sports would know about. There is some things that this book doesn't cover. If you want to know more about Kurt Warner look at some of the other books that Amozon carries. ... The Story of the Remarkable 2008 Arizona Cardinals is One for the Ages

Rising from perennial also-ran to NFC champion over the course of one unforgettable season, the Cardinals excelled thanks to a strong arm and cool head of veteran Kurt Warner, the unlikeliest of heroes. Named the surprise starter by head coach Ken Whisenhunt at the start of the season, Warner reminded Cardinals fans why he was a two-time MVP. Supported by the spectacular pass-catching of Larry Fitzgerald and the power running of rookie Tim Hightower, Warner and the Arizona offense made believers out of the NFL as they stormed through the playoffs and punched their ticket to Tampa. Though they came up short in the Super Bowl XLIII against the Steelers, the Cardinals succeeded in rekindling Arizona's love for pro football. The all-new volume, packed with dynamic photos and engaging text, offers the perfect way to celebrate this exciting season. ... Read more
