The Jaret Wright Shrine. I love this line, from the February 1117, 1998 issue of baseball Weekly If youdon't know who jaret wright is by now, you probably weren't watching any http://members.tripod.com/~WrightGirl27/tribe.html
Extractions: Tunaboy!!! Yes, I am now unfortunately a Jaret Wright fan; without that I could not become a Cleveland fan. I also fully admit that I didn't notice Wright had reached the majors until May 10, 1998, and I didn't pay attention that game because John Burkett was pitching a perfect game which ended when I stopped chewing. No kidding. I ate dinner, then chewed gum, and as soon as I chucked the gum Burkett gave up a hit. God only knows when I first noticed Wright was cute, but I fully admit it was AFTER he became famous, as evidenced above. He is just so damn cute! I just want to take him home with me!!! He reminds me of a teddy bear...and HAHAHA, he's only two years older than me!!! I keep forgetting to mention the fact that he's a damn good pitcher, if a bit inconsistent this season. I love this line, from the February 11-17, 1998 issue of Baseball Weekly : "If you don't know who Jaret Wright is by now, you probably weren't watching any baseball last fall (and in that case, what are you doing reading this?)." I'm not sure if this quote includes me because I knew who he was when he was drafted, I just didn't know when he reached the majors. Besides that, my basement probably houses every issue of BBW ever printed. Vital Stats of Mr. Wright (according to the Indians' official website and other random stuff in my head)
The Random Musings Of WrightGirl... I noticed that there are way too many people who like baseball merely for Derek reason,so I decided to make like I was obsessed with jaret wright purely for http://members.tripod.com/~WrightGirl27/
Extractions: Welcome to WrightGirl's page! Yes, I have moved. I decided that the Rusty Nation really didn't need a shrine to another baseball player to detract from my being a true baseball fan. Therefore, I have moved my Jaret Wright shrine here and will expand this page to include Jamey Wright, eventually. Why am I WrightGirl? Well, it's a long and interesting story. I noticed that there are way too many people who like baseball merely for Derek Jeter (or Javy Lopez or Chipper Jones or whomever) and claim to be diehard Yankees or Braves fans for that reason, so I decided to make like I was obsessed with Jaret Wright purely for entertainment and annoyance purposes. Hey, guess what, I AM obsessed with Jaret Wright. Yay. BUT, I remember his being drafted, I was a baseball fan long before that, and I admit to only liking him for his looks cuz he ain't pitching well at all. That doesn't make me an Indians fan either, no matter what the guy I dated last year may think. I still like the Rangers and the Red Sox in that order. My baseball stats? I've been a fan since the precise date of October 17, 1989, the Game Three earthquake. That's still one of the scariest things I've seen on television. Yes, I have been to San Francisco four times since then, once flying there from Orange County airport, another driving from Sacramento, two more flying to and from Hawaii. Anyway, I think that Series made me a fan of the underdog. The next year I liked the Red Sox (and I still do.) It was not until the 1991 season that I even noticed a good-looking player. Why did I notice him? He murdered my Red Sox at every opportunity. Who he is isn't important. What is important is that while I found him good-looking, I liked him more for his skill than for anything else. He's out of baseball now, and see, I'm still a fan. I don't need to stare at a player to enjoy the game. I keep score at every game I attend.

1998 MLB Playoffs EDT) Looking at the Cleveland Indians, you see a confident, veteran baseball clubthat jaret wright started 1997 in DoubleA and not only rose to the majors http://www.sportserver.com/SportServer/baseball/mlb/98playoffs/borelli5.html
Extractions: (Oct 10, 1998 - 14:47 EDT) Looking at the Cleveland Indians, you see a confident, veteran baseball club that has made it to two of the last three World Series. You see a team that took three out of four games from the Boston Red Sox in an American League Division Series and one that has grabbed home-field advantage over the New York Yankees by splitting the first two games of the American League Championship Series at Yankee Stadium. But what you may not see could be the reason the Indians don't make it through their current round. A year ago, when the Indians became the AL's sweethearts with upset wins over the powerhouse Yankees and Baltimore Orioles, their poster boy was a fresh-faced fireballing right-hander with composure as cool as the breezes off the ocean in his native Southern California. Jaret Wright started 1997 in Double-A and not only rose to the majors, but he pitched the Indians deep into Game 7 of the World Series against the eventual-champion Florida Marlins. This year, Wright has been so ineffective in the postseason that manager Mike Hargrove isn't even sure when he'll use the 23-year-old again.
