Extractions: INDIANA PACERS vs. NEW YORK KNICKS - 95-98 (2-1) May 27, 2000 AUSTIN CROSHERE Q. You played such a big role in the game. What happened today? AUSTIN CROSHERE: Didn't get any buckets, for whatever reason didn't get as many minutes tonight. I am not exactly sure why, but I am sure I will find out in practice tomorrow. We had a great opportunity to be one up at half time. They never really got in a flow or had aggressive series of plays and we didn't come out and in the third quarter and put it away like we had the opportunity of doing. Q. You established Rick in the first half 21 points. Did they adjust to take away did you guys (inaudible) AUSTIN CROSHERE: I think we got away from him, how we were getting him the ball in the first place, just dropping it into the post; they put Kurt Thomas on us in front him which made it a little bit harder for Rick to get the ball, try to set some ball screens and make some adjustments. Q. When you talk about lack of looks, what was the difference. Game one it just seemed like you took it and created your offense. Were they not looking for you today or were you not taking it? AUSTIN CROSHERE: I think game one was a situation of me taking advantages of the opportunities that were there, just a lot more looks were there. Our guys double teaming, rotating the ball, tonight our ball movement wasn't as good. When we played our best tonight it was really a post game, getting Rick off early and the primary game never really came around post.

Extractions: INDIANAPOLIS, INDIANA June 13, 2000 An interview with AUSTIN CROSHERE Q. Austin, is it true that you asked to be traded? Was it at the end of last season? Could you describe those circumstances? AUSTIN CROSHERE: Just at the end of my second year, it didn't look like - having not played - it didn't look like there was going to be much of an opportunity. I went to Donnie Walsh and asked him if - it didn't look like there was going to be a realistic chance for me to get playing time in my third season - if they could move me somewhere where I could get a chance to play. This was before Antonio was traded. Q. Could you talk about Larry Bird's coaching and leadership style? He doesn't seem to get caught up in too many mind games the way Phil Jackson has done in the past with other coaches. AUSTIN CROSHERE: No, he's, you know, the type of coach that expects a lot out of his players, kind of expects you to work hard, to show up and give it what you got every day. He doesn't play a lot of games, he's pretty straightforward. I think he's kind of old-school in that regard. He just wants you to show up and play hard and, you know, kind of do what you're told and, you know, don't ask too many questions. Q. Austin, you haven't really struggled through the first few rounds of the playoffs, but it seems like in the Finals you've really stepped it up.
