TERRIFIC book for children who are hockey fans!
This is a wonderful book which I purchased for my 9-year old son.I think he has read it 3 or 4 times already.He loves it!I would highly recommend this for any child who is a hockey fan.

One of many, but definitely a great one
There are a lot of books about Wayne Gretzky. This is a good one with a lot of nice pictures. All the highlights are included, but if you're a Gretzky fan you won't be surprised by any real new items.

player ever (and Mike Modano is the best we
Amre-I-cans have produced, so far). Though
this book is more show than tell, it still
is a worthy tribute to Gretz. There are others
better though.

Not this time Wayne
I admire everything about Wayne Gretzky and everything he has done. But i also think Andrew did a poor job reflecting how much wayne gretzky has really accomplished. He is not just a great player , he is a great person.The book lacked certain detail and as the other reviewer said. It probably is only meant for a 3rd grade level =)

Frank Fortuanos "Wayne Gretzky star center is a marvelous book full of facts and career statistics of Wayne Gretzky. He tells a great story of his upbringing and even why he tucks his jersey in one side. But, the book does slow down. When he gets into a career it is repetitive to some degree. In each chapter he tells how many points he had in that season, and how hard he worked to win the Stanley cup. But it gives a great story of his life. I highly recommend it to anyone who is doing a report on him

Great book for young hockey fans
My 5 year old son brought this home from school as his library book one week.He is a huge hockey fan, and beginning hockey player.We read this book together with my 7 year old, who was also enthralled.It is a great book to read about a great hockey player.Kids will appreciate learning about Gretzky life as a child and as an adult hockey star.There is a lot of emphasis placed on Gretzky's great sportsmanship and also on the fact that he triumphed when others told him he could not.I thought this was a very positive and enjoyable book to read together with my kids. ...
