2-0 out of 5 stars Right through the five-hole!
Sorry to say this book is not worth the money. It should have been made available as an e-book only as the production values of the hard copy are lacking. The font size included with some of the charts and graphs is too small to read comfortably.A few photographs would have been a nice supplement to the 1st section on skating drills.

This is a great idea but poorly executed and overpriced. I would not recommend this book nor would I consider any of the remaining books in this series.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Book
Great Book, son loves to read and understands concepts quickly because of succinct writing, with excellent photos and diagrams.

5-0 out of 5 stars Awesome read, Easy to understand skills
Hi guys, read the book and have been passing the tips on to my 10 year old son since! I have been explaing all the points you have made and even had him read them himself to see that, If its good enough for LOU. then its great for him. He has me buying him OJ and making pasta as a pregame meal for his spring hockey games. The book is a great read and reminds myself as a coach on the ice with my son as well as him on how the fundamentals of movement and routine are important, Along with repition and commitment to making yourself a better goalie are the difference makers in development.

Cant wait for the next installment!

Thanks Guys!

Product Description
James Duthie is one of North America's most recognized hockey media personalities, as well as one of the most respected and personable commentators on the game, and one of the most prolific. Best known as the host of all TSN's NHL hockey broadcasts on The NHL on TSN and for his coverage of the World Junior Championships, James also has a strong following for his work in print, on TSN.ca and in the Ottawa Citizen. He has been writing columns about hockey, sport in general, and his own twisted view of the world for over a decade. This book is the first and only collection of some of his most popular and most controversial columns, as well as several brand new pieces never previously published.

James Duthie is the most-read feature columnist on TSN.ca and is known for his off-the-wall, often humorous, take on the people and issues that dominate Canada's game. In The Day I (Almost) Killed Two Gretzkys, he brings his famous sense of humour, deep hockey knowledge, and his passion for the game to hockey fans and readers everywhere-no matter what team you cheer for.

The subject matter is all over the hockey map. Some chapters are about the NHL, some are about being a hockey parent, some are about hockey as it relates to life. Many are snapshots of a moment in time-Sidney Crosby's first Stanley Cup final, Canada's gold medal win at the Olympics in 2002, September 11th, a son's first game as goalie. Others roam elsewhere around the sports world, musing on basketball, tennis, golf, baseball, football, and more.

Each story is unique. Many will make you laugh. Some will make you cry. All of them will remind you of why you're a fan of the best game you can name. ... Read more
