5-0 out of 5 stars Sabatini Photo Book
Agree with the 1st book reviewer...if you are a fan of Sabatini's, this is a definite must. It is all photos, covering her ups and downs on the tour for 3-4 years of her career.Very well done, I liked the fact that it wasnot one type of photo or just glamour shots, but rather different angles, action shots, etc. Is it worth $50.00?Yes, it is.It is a largecoffee table style format. Each page isa color or black and white photo. The back has a summary of each photo with thetournament and date it wastaken. If you're a tennis fan, get it, if you're a Gaby fan, get it. It isunfortunate the publishing problem arose, from what I understand, shepersonally had no business connection to it.I'm glad Amazon has itavailable for the worldwide audience. If more tennis fans knew of it, I'msure more would order it.

3-0 out of 5 stars Published at last but worth it?
I remembering reading about this book in Tennis Magazine several years ago (1995?). I also remember how excited I was that "Gabyfans" like me were getting something new - never before seen photos all dressed up ina fancy hardback cover. Then came all the problems with the"other" publisher. Money was taken with nothing to show for it,delay after delay and then, I thought sadly, a dead project.Surprisingly, I got my copy as a gift and was thrilled beyond belief; Gabyhad since retired and this was something new. But was it worth all the hypeand trouble?

In a "fans" eyes, yes. The book does containphotos never before seen and therefore brings a smile to our face. Butthose photos...they ARE different. The angles, and cropping are not whattennis fans are used to seeing. Some I thought were down right no betterthan I took at a tournament in Chicago - ones I threw away because theywere so blurry or under-exposed. Yet, Mr Shima's artistic ideas simplystray from mine. The racket is cut off in one picture, everything from thewaist down in another, or her face cut in half in even another. But don'tget me wrong - some are downright gorgeous. The clarity, the expression onMs. Sabatini's face, her sweat and her heart exposed for all to see. It isthose photos that make the book worth buying. They do capture the personaof who Gaby was - a truly amazing beauty on the court; one so talented andgraceful we will probably never see the likes of again. A full court playerthat caused our eyes to be glued to her every move and cheer her on whethershe won or lost.

Choose this book and you'll be owning a rarity for sure.I've never found this book for sale anywhere else. And I've looked. I don'tknow where amazon.com gets it but at least it renews my faith it WASpublished eventually.Thank you amazon.com - you are amazing! ... Read more

Excerpt: David Pablo Nalbandian (born January 1, 1982) is an Argentine professional tennis player, former World No. 3, currently ranked 149th in the world as of May 24, 2010. He turned professional in 2000. In 2001, he finished in the ATP top 50 for the first time. He finished 2002 as No. 1 Argentine and South American for the first time in his career, winning two ATP titles and reaching the Wimbledon final, where he lost to Lleyton Hewitt. Nalbandian was not able to return to the Wimbledon Championship in 2003, as he was knocked out in the Round of 16 to hometown favourite Tim Henman. He did however make an impressive run at the U.S. Open, taking out both of the Wimbledon finalists #20 seed Mark Philippoussis, and the #2 seed Roger Federer along the way to a semifinal matchup with Andy Roddick. It was the second time in less than a month that he would meet Roddick in high stakes match, having lost to him in the final of Rogers Cup a few weeks earlier, Nalbandian started strongly as he took a two sets to love lead, and held a match point in the third set tiebreak. There was a little bit of controversy during the match when a fan yelled "out" at 77 in the tiebreak, causing Nalbandian to mishit his following shot when he thought the linesman was the one who called it. Roddick took the point and eventually prevailed in the tieb...More: http://booksllc.net/?id=670270 ... Read more
