She has been in the top twenty in both singles and doubles. Tanasugarn's highest WTA ranking has been world number 19, a ranking she achieved on 13 May 2002, which is the highest ranking ever achieved for a Thai female player. She has won three singles titles. She was briefly a doubles partner with Maria Sharapova, with whom she won two titles in 2003. Tamarine won a total of five doubles titles.
