Product Description
Narrated by the visionary founding member, Hell's Angel provides a fascinating all-access pass to the secret world of the notorious Hell's Angels Motorcycle Club. Sonny Barger recounts the birth of the original Oakland Hell's Angels and the four turbulent decades that followed. Hell's Angel also chronicles the way the HAMC revolutionized the look of the Harley-Davidson motorcycle and built what has become a worldwide bike-riding fraternity, a beacon for freedom-seekers the world over.

Dozens of photos, including many from private collections and from noted photographers, provide visual documentation to this extraordinary tale. Never simply a story about motorcycles, colorful characters, and high-speed thrills, Hell's Angel is the ultimate outlaw's tale of loyalty and betrayal, subcultures and brotherhood, and the real price of freedom.

5-0 out of 5 stars Hell's Angel an original outlaw biker
This book is a pretty damn interesting story about the history of the infamous and better known outlaw MC Hells Angels. These guys wrote the book and style for all the bikers and wannabe badasses. They set the standard for how clubs are operated and everyone else just copied these guys inlcuding the police during road formations. Its true that these dudes are not Angels and can be mean when provoked, but ya gotta hand it to them. The history of how it formed by a bunch of vets and than after they left the club Sonny took over and transformed it into what it is now.I didnt know he was an army veteran either! They let him go because of lying about his age coming in and some Hawaiian tattoos that some pogues didnt understand so they let him go which being in the army I can totally believe. He got an honorable discharge though. So the jokes on them.He claims that he was a good soldier and loved it.So if the army had let him stay imagine the type of soldier he wouldve been?I dont think hed be murdering people like some would say.He didnt get into law trouble til AFTER he got out of the army.Had he been able to stay in Im sure hed have been just another NCO who wouldve been known as a strict hard ass.As for his lifestyle in the underworld....amazing he lived through it all.The wild lifestyle, the prison time, stupid car drivers who Im sure may caused an accident for him more than just twice. He pulls no punches and is honest about his life with the HA.He even admits to pulling a gun on the Rolling Stones and their manager during the concert in 1969.Colorful characters in the original outlaw HA MC from the 50's and 60's.I find it interesting that some of the heads came from good families and one was still in the navy when he joined and he didnt have to prospect! I love how he was always the outsider with the cool guy hippie crowd, the rebel rousers and the cops.I like how they supported the troops in Vietnam and i liked how they kicked some heads in at a few hippy rallies.Half these guys were veterans themselves!Too bad they dont do that now with the westboro church members today.Id pay good money to see those guys get their asses handed to them.I myself dont belong in an organization such as the HA.Maybe back than in the 50's and early 60's since thats what all vets do, right? But I do admire them in a way.I cant explain it, but I admire the original Hells Angels. Not for the things theyve done, but what they stood for back in the golden days of greasers and bikers.Very good book and its very hard to put down.

4-0 out of 5 stars Tame for what it is
This book is a mixture of random stories of adventures of a famous biker. It reminds me of an old man sitting around telling stories of his wild and woolies. I bought the book because of the stigma around this man and personal stories that were told to me. If you are in to the biker lifestyle, then it is worth the read.

5-0 out of 5 stars Worth Reading
I read this book several years ago and got the urge to read it again. Even the second
time around I found it hard to put down. It is interesting to hear another side to the HAMC than the media hype we have been fed for years.

4-0 out of 5 stars Very Good
Book was shipped out pretty fast. It was at a good price and in very good condition.

4-0 out of 5 stars Psycology of an outlaw
First of all thanks to Sonny for being candid and sincere in his memoirs. I think this is a real story of an outlaw biker and biker clup. This is thus a wonderfull book to read to let you get an insider view of the Hell's Angels clup.

In subtsance, on the other hand, I did not buy his story of getting together in the clup for just making fun. No offence to him or to his friends but it seems to me that this clup was a collection of irresponsible people towards the society. They played childish games and behaved immature. For example they overvalued their patches in a way that only a 10 year old boy can do. The worst they can even kill people for offending the patch. A Pieace of cloth does not worth this much value...They sold drugs, fought people, etc... I did not like this part. I am a biker, but belong to remaining 99%; responsible to the society and always keen to observe the rules. Any one who will read this book should not pretend to be like Sonny at that times.

I also felt pitty about Sharon, who sacrificied her life for Sonny but kicked out in the end- another irresponsible behavior from Sonny. Sharon, with such a beauty, could have lived a different life...

All in all, I think Sonny felt guilty what he had done in the past and tried to give a good message with this book to the society with sincere confession so that new generation does not follow his path and become one percenter. I thank to Sonny for this book and his sincere confessions and I will recommend the book to my son to get some lessons from his story... ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars All fired up!
No wonder this book won the BEA's Best YA Fiction award. Truly, a delightful read. Interesting characters, captivating plot, with splashes of humor. What an amazing, interesting world the author has created. In a way, she reminds me of a female Carlos Casteneda, as the young Hispanic college professor embarks on a spiritual journey (albeit at the whims of her zany ancient ancestor who appears in different animal forms) and undertakes the art of white magic to help her family, in particular, that militant sister of hers who is always getting into trouble. LOL.

Excelente.

5-0 out of 5 stars Libro fascinante

5-0 out of 5 stars Fuego Angelical, Mi Primer Libro sobre Los Angeles

5-0 out of 5 stars Fuego Angelical : Magia, Leyendas Y Tradiciones
Even though this book in Spanish I was able to read the English manuscript while working on the cover artwork.

I very much enjoyed this book. It is the perfect combination of fictional novel and how-to book. There are lessons on conjuring fairies, finding your spirit guide etc. All woven into a very interesting and engrossing story about a woman and her long dead native american grandmother.

I would rate this book among one of my favorites for a good entertaining read. I think you'll enjoy it too! ... Read more
