Okay not great
Reasonably well written, reasonably complete. Not a lot of detail about construction techniques. I would have preferred more info about the actual how to...

Real People-Real Projects (Hometime Series)
I'd rate this book in the middle of the scale simply because it didn't really give me what I wanted (but may be fine for others).I'm already well versed in do-it-yourself projects so I don't need baby steppingthrough basic electrical, drywall etc.What I was really looking for wastangible information on both the interior design aspects of a basement(lighting consideration, codes etc) and specific basement constructiontechniques.By the latter, I mean actually making the walls andwaterproofing (I don't have a basement right now and I need to replace theexisting foundation).This book assumed you already had a basement andthat you were simply building it out (and don't know construction).

I wasalso looking for lots of pictures of other people's basements for ideas. The book was wanting in that area.If you are searching for the sameinformation as I, then the 'Better Homes and Garden Book' is probably abetter choice.If you are new to construction, already have a basement andknow what you want to do, then this book is OK. ...
