From the supplier: Analysis of the unusual relationship of Djuna Barnes and Charles Henri Ford and the differences in their sexual economies and safeties help in understanding Barnes's 'Behind the Heart' written for Ford. The emendation of 'boy' to 'groom' in the story takes on additional meaning in the context of their personal lives and relationships. The subtle exploration of erotic intimacy is in keeping with the 'scopophilia,' mutual pleasure in looking, revealed in their correspondence.
