5-0 out of 5 stars Great book
I love every Robert Munsch book I have ever read!I teach first grade and his books are always a hit. This book, just like his other books, helps students use their imagination, laugh at situations and guess the results.
Olivia is a great little kid that my students can relate to and enjoy reading/listening to the trouble she gets into.
It shows ANYTHING can happen.
Highly recommend.

5-0 out of 5 stars Children's Books
I always buy booksby Robert Munsch. My grandson did not like to read UNTIL he read one of the books I had.Not only did he like it, but wanted to take it home to read to his mother.Robert Munsch writes books that are about children and children love to read about other children.I simply loveall books by him.

5-0 out of 5 stars A delightful story
A delightful tale that makes you smile. My third grade writers laughed at each outcome. It brings meaning to be careful what you wish for.

5-0 out of 5 stars Lots of fun!Read it and laugh with your kid
This is my first Robert Munsch book, and I'm hooked!I read it to my son's kindergarten class yesterday and it made me look like a hero. They ATE IT UP.We laughed so hard we cried.Olivia is a great little heroine, and the kids could identify with her and were tickled with the "trouble" she cooked up.

5-0 out of 5 stars The PERFECT glossy oversized coffee table tome...

...for your kid's doll house. If you don't believe me, you might want to read the product description before you buy, where it does indicate that the Annikins books are NOT enormous: "Annikins are mini books made especially for children -- small enough to fit into tiny hands and pockets. Each book measures 3 1/2" x 3 1/2" and contains full color pages."

Actually, I very much appreciate how SMALL these books are:

1. Small kids like small things.
2. You can carry half a library in your pocket. Long car trip? Waiting for dinner to arrive in a restaurant? Doc's office behind schedule? These _extremely_ silly books are the perfect way to head off crankiness and whining.

And for 2 dollars, what would one expect?

1-0 out of 5 stars Misrepresented
I must have skimmed over the one little section mentioning this book is the size of my palm. THIS IS NOT A REGULAR SIZE BOOK! NOT WORTH THE MONEY OR THE SHIPPING!

5-0 out of 5 stars Catchy, Interesting, Funny story
I happened to order this book from my son's schoolastic book orders.
My 3 (Now 5) and 7 (Now 9) year old kids have been enjoying listening to this story over and over since last couple of years.
This story is very nicely illustrated. The author indede has studied children's mind.
The ending also puts a big smile on my daughter's face.
Very light...funny..story. Very expressive pictures also play major roll in the story.
My doughter enjoy watching Tina (the character)of the story and her experssions in the book.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Buy!
My daughter has had me read her this book over and over. The illustrations are cute and funny

5-0 out of 5 stars THE CUTEST FUNNY STORY FOR KIDS
JUST GET IT, ITS GEAT I READ IT TO MY 7 YEAR OLD AND USE IT AT MY PRESCHOOL AS WELL AT NAP TIME SO THEY LIE DOWN AND START TO USE THIER IMAGINATION!

4-0 out of 5 stars Another winner from Munsch!
Gosh, I love his books. Inexpensive, short, and they make no pretense of "moralizing" or "educating" at all - no Aesops, no phonics, none of that, just good old-fashioned storytelling.

Tina needs new socks. (Note - given that this book is dedicated to a Tina who lives on Hay River Dene Reserve, I'm going to assume that, like that Tina, the Tina in this book is probably First Nations as well, and in this world of picture books it's always nice to see some diversity.) And not boring black socks - AWESOME SOCKS.

So she asks her mother to take her to the shop store, but the bridge is a long way away and, uh, no. So she asks her grandfather and rows there. (With maybe a little help.) And hey - awesome rainbow socks! She's never gonna take them off! (Do you know a kid like that? One favorite shirt and god help you if you suggest that maybe it might survive a trip through the washer? Yeah, this is something like that.)

Her mother is very understanding, even when birds are literally falling out of the sky around her (Martchenko's illustrations, as always, are top notch and this book is worth getting for those alone), but her friends are less so and go scrub her socks in the river. (Even down the river, people, we're told, asked "Why does it smell like dirty socks?") And she learns a valuable lesson - "If I wait long enough, other people will wash my clothes for me." (The closing illustrations indicates she unlearned this lesson the hard way. Sure hope she can swim!)

It's super funny, very exaggerated and over the top, great to read. You're bound to have a lot of fun with it :)

4-0 out of 5 stars Cute book.

Product Description
Fresh out of clean clothes, Lacey must wear a previously shunned birthday gift from her grandma: a T-shirt that says, "Kiss Me, I'm Perfect."

Skeptical about the reception she will receive, Lacey starts her journey to school...and is pleasantly surprised by the attention she receives from the kitty cat, dog, eagle, and MOOSE she meets along her way. Even better, once at school, her potentially embarrassing attire is soon coveted by her classmates!

This ridiculously silly tale, filled with wet sloppy kisses, will leave readers in hysterics!

5-0 out of 5 stars Kiss Me, I'm Perfect
Robert Munsch is a great author for creating read alouds that hold student attention.I highly recommend this book for grades K-8.Not only will students laugh, but they will have stories of their own to share that relates to the text.

4-0 out of 5 stars Buy this, it's perfect!
I love this. The argument between the girl and her mother (I would WASH your clothes if I could FIND your clothes!) is so real - and the girl's rejoinder (You PROMISE you'll bring me a new shirt? You won't go to work and cut down a tree?) is priceless.

Of course, in classic Munsch fashion everything goes over the top. I never knew eagles and moose could read and kiss people! (Naturally, a moose kiss that covers you head to toe with green gunk is a LOT less gross than a BOY kiss, ew!)

5-0 out of 5 stars good one to read out loud
My wife bought this book for our kids. I had never heard of it. I sat down with the kids to read, and in 2 different places I started laughing so hard I couldn't keep reading for a minute.

This one will entertain you and your kids.

3-0 out of 5 stars Isn't this the way life goes?
While this is not at the level of such Munsch classics as "The Paper Bag Princess" and "Love You Forever", it is certainly a worthy source of delightfully quirky entertainment. The plot was so inplausible, and yet taken with such nonchalance that I couldn't help but be delighted. Great little book to put you in a good mood.

4-0 out of 5 stars Kiss Me I'm Perfect

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Buy!
My students loved this book.It was extremely funny and motivated some of the reluctant readers to read. Thanks!

1-0 out of 5 stars Way too small
Ok, It was my mistake for not reading the reviews, but nowhere in the description did it tell you that the dimensions are only 3 1/2" by 3 1/2" (It does now).I knew the story and was buying it as a gift. I would not buy this book at this size as it is totally impractical for little hands (big ones too). The illustrations are so cute and funny, you want a normal sized book. Spend a little more and buy it elsewhere.

1-0 out of 5 stars TRULY MIXED REVIEW FOR TWO REASONS
This is truly a great story but this book is too small! WAY TOO SMALL TO READ ALOUD TO A CLASS!
I ordered this book for my classroom but it measures only 3.5" by 3.5"! It really should state in the description how extremely small it is. I recommend that you do not buy it and look for the version that is big enough for you to use as a shared reading size book for your classroom! In all honesty, it's a SUPERB STORY, but this book is WAAAAAAAAY TOO small for you to read to a child to see the pictures in the book! Seriously. Get a ruler and make a box 3.5 inches by 3.5 inches! The book is that little! THAT is why it is only 1.99. Shame on Amazon.com for not putting the size of this teeny tiny book somewhere in the description. OH, by the way, they used a HUGE box to ship it in too! SUCH A WASTE OF SHIPPING MATERIAL!

1-0 out of 5 stars Teeny tiny!
My daughter heard the story at school and wanted her own copy.I ordered it thinking it was a normal size paperback childrens book. She and I were very disappointed that it was a mini book (3x3in.)The product description next to the picture doesn't clearly state this.

4-0 out of 5 stars Hilarious, as always!
Munsch writes some really funny books. In this one, Thomas won't put on his snowsuit. It's UGLY, and he has no qualms about saying so whenever the grown-ups try to make him wear it. In the ensuing fights, his teacher ends up in his snowsuit, his principal and teacher end up swapping clothes by accident, everybody ends up in their underwear, and Thomas puts on his snowsuit when he decides it's important to go out in the snow.

Bunch of silly nonsense, no moral whatsoever. That's refreshing, isn't it?

A word to the wise: IF you are going to purchase the "Annikins" edition of this book, take a moment to read the product description. It states very clearly in the description that the Annikins books are sized at 3.5 x 3.5 inches and are miniature books for miniature hands. After the first three comments it's no longer funny to read people whining that "they didn't KNOW the book was so small!" when, in fact, it's there in bold print, directly under the editorial review. ... 1-0 out of 5 stars DONT BUY SUCKS
this is one of the worst quality books i have ever bought. do not buy from the manufacturer. this book is literally the size of my palm and definitely not worth the money. this is a bad product and amazon should be ashamed for accepting products from this company. i feel wronged and cheated.

3-0 out of 5 stars Great book, bad format
I love the Munsch books and had read this one before so I ordered it, with 3 others, as a present for a little girl I know.I was deeply disappointed when I found that this was a "mini" book.Rather than being the typical size Munsch book that I have bought in the past (maybe 8" x 6"), this was only about 3" square. The story is good and I guess the price should have been a tip-off.When I looked the item up today, I could not find anything in the description that mentioned the size.By clicking on a link I found that there were other 'formats' but as far as I could tell, none of them mentioned a size.Possibly the older version is more normal.

5-0 out of 5 stars This Book Is a Handful!
A few years back, as I strolled through a Canadian bookstore, these tiny 3 ½" by 3 ½" books leaped from the shelf and said: "Buy me, now, and take me home with you!"Well, not really, but it sounds good.At the time, I could envision these tiny books would not only fit in the hand of young students, but in their hearts as stories to read over and over again. Some of these books are also printed in larger sizes, but this one "Something Good" is just a teeny tiny book to fit in your hand and maybe your pocket.

Robert Munsch, the author, and Michael Martchenko, the illustrator team up in this book to portray poor dad, frazzled by a shopping trip to a store, with little Tyya and her brother and sister. In the course of the shopping trip, Tyya checks out Dad's purchases and finds them uninteresting and dull.Instead, she sets off to get her own cart full of "all she wants", and surprises Dad, only to hear him play it down as "junk food", and "stuff that will rot your teeth", or "lower your IQ".

Tyya doesn't just shop for a couple of her favorites, she grabs hundreds.Dad's favorite response is "YIKES" and "Put it back".
Then, he decides to make her stand in one place, while he shops.Anyone who has shopped with youngsters knows the all too many scenarios that take place. She really stood there, and Dad must have given her a stern look.

As the story continues, Tyya is the focus of shoppers passing her, sometimes bumping her, and others admiring her.A store clerk decides that a price tag is needed to put on Tyya, and what do you think happens next? You,ve got to read this book to find out.See you at the check-out!
By the way, these 3 ½" by 3 ½" books are part of the Annikins series.

4-0 out of 5 stars Potty humor at its finest!
This is a LOL-tastic book about a boy who emphatically Does Not Need To Go. He doesn't need to go before he puts on his snowsuit. (And then he does.) He doesn't need to go before they go on a long drive. (And then he does.) He doesn't need to go before bed. (And then he does.)

Wow, does this ever sound familiar! On one level, every parent in the world ought to be able to identify with the long-suffering grown-ups in this book. On another, the refrain "I HAVE TO GO PEE!" is going to make most children roll around laughing because, you know, it's PEE-PEE. OMG! You're reading a book about PEEING, and it's not a BABY book with POTTIES in it either!

It even has a sweet ending to it.

Unless you are the sort of family that doesn't like this sort of slightly-vulgar humor, I'd definitely advise that you check it out.

4-0 out of 5 stars We need another toilet
We are a third grade class in New Delhi, India. We liked this book because it is funny and it could be true. We liked the beginning when Andrew said he would never pee again. It was really funny every time he said "no, no, no, no" but then he had to go pee. Would recommend this book for little children, for mom's and dad's, and grandmas and grandpas.

5-0 out of 5 stars A great story
I'm in the midst of potty training and this book was excellent. The story was engaging and my 3 year old loves hearing it over and over again.

3-0 out of 5 stars Funny, but a little crude.
This book is very funny if you don't mind reading for 5 minutes about a boy who needs to pee. My son thinks it's hilarious, but then he's 12 and a little crude sometimes himself. I don't read it to my preschool class, because it does not convey an attitude that I want them to have. Also, some parents might find it a little offensive. All in all, it is funny but not for a group.

Product Description
An extraordinarily different story by Robert Munsch is a gentle affirmation of the love a parent feels for their child--forever. Sheila McGraw's soft and colorful pastels perfectly complement the sentiment of the book--one that will be read repeatedly for years.Amazon.com Review
The mother sings to her sleeping baby: "I'll love you forever / I'll love youfor always / As long as I'm living / My baby you'll be." She still sings thesame song when her baby has turned into a fractious 2-year-old, a slovenly9-year-old, and then a raucous teen. So far so ordinary--but this is onepersistent lady. When her son grows up and leaves home, she takes todriving across town with a ladder on the car roof, climbing through her grownson's window, and rocking the sleeping man in the same way. Then, inevitably, the day comes when she's too old and sick to hold him, and theroles are at last reversed. Each stage is illustrated by one of SheilaMcGraw's comic and yet poignant pastels. 5-0 out of 5 stars One of the best and timeless books ever
I casually picked up this book at a yard sale and thumb through it and started to get misty eyed when I got to the end of the story.

I immediately went to Amazon and bought up as many copies as I could get at a fair price and made sure everyone in my family had a copy of this book.

This is a timeless and very special book.

5-0 out of 5 stars I Love This Book!
I read this book numerous times to my children and it was one of their favorites. I could never get all the way through it without getting choked up which caused no end of amusement for my little ones. This book is so sweet and so very true I recommend it to all parents. Now that my children are young adults it is especially poignant. This book is a keeper.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great book for 1st time moms
This is such a great book.I cry everytime I read it to my little guy. This is a great gift for a first time mom after their baby has been born.

2-0 out of 5 stars distressing to children
I do not like this book.Don't hate it, but I don't like it, either. This is my mother's favorite children's book, and I vividly recall her reading it to me for the first time when I was 3 years old.It was very distressing because I didn't want to think about my mother dying AND because my mom always cried when she read it- didn't like that, either! My older brother felt the same way.Young kids aren't good at differentiating between sad tears and happy/emotional tears.Every once in a while I would let her read it because I knew she liked it, but I did not at all.Do you really want your child to feel like they have to submit to something that distresses them just because they want to make you happy? Also now that I'm adult, I too find the whole "creeping into adult son's bed" disturbing.I didn't pick up on that as a child (and I doubt most children would), but it's the final nail in the coffin for this book in my mind.

5-0 out of 5 stars Emotion Packed Book
I have read this book to my two children since they were very young.I even made up a melody for the little song! It's got a tear jerker ending & a message about treating your elderly parents right that I hope will stick with my kids forever, because that's how long love lasts. ... Read more

It shows ANYTHING can happen.
Highly recommend.

5-0 out of 5 stars Kindergarten classic!
The students in my kindergarten class, year in and year out, love this book more than most other Munsch books- an author they uniformly love. The idea of a mud puddle hiding out around a child's house, waiting to pounce and dirty the child's clean clothes, brings laughter and a little bit of appropriate tension, with each reading. The illustrations are a little bit sloppier and muddier than the normal Munsch books, as Sami Suomalainen does the art instead of Munsch's usual collaborator, Michael Martchenko. The Mud Puddle itself is fluid and sprawling with a gleefully malicious grin that intimidates in just the right way.
A great read for elementary school kids, a book I love to read as I watch the kids react, and to top it all off, the "wonders of soap" appears at the end to help solve the mud puddle problem.Classic Munsch!

5-0 out of 5 stars The cutest story!

Every child will love this book even if they are not particularly interested in fire stations. This is the story of a little boy who is convinced by a mischevious friend to stowaway aboard a firetruck and follow the firemen to a fire at a paint factory. There are wonderful, colorful illustrations of the little boy and girl getting so covered with paint that their parents don't recognize them, and then taking big sudsy baths with huge bubble and splashes of paint when they get home. The children I know who love this book enjoy both the adventure of the plot and the vivid illustrations.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great story about a very forward girl
This is a great story for kids who love fire engines, kids who are irrepressible, or kids who know another kid who just won't take no for an answer.

Michael's friend Sheila won't let the word "no" stop her; not from Michael, and not from any of the adults. She wants to see the fire station so she takes Michael in with her and asks for a tour. The friendly fireman agrees, but then Sheila wants a ride in the fire engine and is told "of course not."So, Sheila gets in the engine anyway (dragging Michael along despite his protests), and wouldn't you know it, the alarm goes off, and the two of them are part of a huge downtown fire detail.

Martchenko's vibrant pictures, as in so many books he does with Munsch, are glorious. And the ending can lead to a great discussion with your child about learning a lesson, and how some people have more trouble doing so than others. The two children have such definite personalities, Michael the insecure worrier and Sheila clearly on her way to thrill-seeking sports such as glacier skating.

This is one my kids asked me to read them many times over.

4-0 out of 5 stars The Fire Station
We love the books by this pair (Munsch and Martchenko). The Fire Station was an immediate hit with my soon to be four year old.Not only does it have the requisite fire engine, but the kid characters are curious, smart, adventurous and have relate-to personalities. The writing is inventive andcolorful, is great for read-aloud, and doesn't talk down to kid readers. Martchenko's illustrations are great. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Slightly creepy but great
Yet another classic children's story with fresh ideas proving that Robert Munsch can do no wrong.
In this story, a young girl opens up an otherwise empty cookie jar to discover that a Dark is hiding out at the bottom of it.When the Dark falls out onto the kitchen floor, it begins eating shadows, growing larger with each shadow, until it eventually eats all the shadows in the neighborhood and rests atop the young girl's house. The girl eventually finds a shadow the Dark failed to eat and uses this to entice the Dark into a trap, thus saving the day for all affected!
The story is simple, straightforward, yet highly intriguing for adults and children alike. The illustrations are classic Martchenko- colorful, vivid, moving the story along, filled with details that kids love to study.Younger kids can be a little intimidated by the Dark when it first appears, but the light tone throughout prevents the story from becoming outright scary.
Another winner for the incomparable Munsch/Martchenko duo!

5-0 out of 5 stars Love at first sight.

3-0 out of 5 stars Cute and odd
Murmel, Murmel, Murmel is cute for the most part.A little 5 year old girl finds a baby in a hole in her sandbox, then looks for someone to take care of the baby.In the end, a truck driver takes the baby. The story is short, ends abruptly, and the media has plagued me with far too much of a fear of what random men do to children, so the ending feels uncomfortable. When I got the book, I pulled it out of the box and read it to my 2 year old with my friend and husband visiting/listening.The other adults with me were even more weirded out than I was.My daughter, unfazed, enjoyed it and has wanted to read it twice tonight.
Munsch writes off-beat books.I like his stuff. This isn't my favorite.

5-0 out of 5 stars Can't go wrong with Munsch!
Robert Munsch has proven to be one of the most consistent and rewarding childrens authors currently writing today.Since his debut in the late '70s, Munsch has entertained and amused children and adults alike, and "50 Below Zero" ranks as one of his more entertaining and original works.
Jason wakes up one night and discovers that his father is sleepwalking. He ignores this problem the first several times it happens, but when he wakes up and discovers that his father has sleepwalked out the front door, into the freezing night, Jason has no choice but to severely bundle up (think of the little boy from "A Christmas Story" and you can imagine how many layers Jason piles on) and rescue his father from becoming an ice cube.Once his father is dragged home and thawed out, Jason attempts to solve the sleepwalking problem by tying his father to the bed post. This, of course, leads to another funny situation, with the book ending in a humorous and slightly unresolved manner.
As always, the language is perfect for kids- simple without being unintelligent. The illustrations are colorful, detailed, and move the story along in an interesting fashion. The language is slightly repetitive, helping early readers with their reading skills and also providing a humorous element through the use of repetition.
Again, with regards to originality and humor, few authors match the brilliance of Robert Munsch, and "50 Below Zero" is an excellent example of his talent.

5-0 out of 5 stars A Special Ed Classroom Favorite!
I have an elementary class of students with low-functioning autism, and they absolutely adore this book! We discovered it through TumbleBooks.com, the reader is very animated and it captured their attention. The repetition and predictability is perfect for this population! It is a classroom favorite and has been a great way to introduce new vocabulary to my early learners and get my higher learners excited about reading!

4-0 out of 5 stars A Childhood Memory
I had recently read this book because of a Creative Writing assignment. The reason I chose this book is because reading it took me way back to when my mind was early in the stage of the exploration of literature. I owned this book as a child, and reading it gave me another small perspective on how our own life and time itself progresses.
Robert Munsch uses humour in alot of his books and this is another one of those cases. For example, at the end of this book, the child's father is suspended in the middle of the kitchen by his toe with a long rope.
Munsch also uses a form of anticipation to ensure that the child >wants< to turn to the next page. For example, most of the pages in this book have sentences that end like: "He looked in the kitchen, it was empty. He looked in the bathroom, it was empty. He looked in the garage and..."
Not only can I look at this book from the perspective of just an ordinary reader, but also as a child; the intended audience of this book. Because of this, I can say the Robert Munsch did a wonderful job of creating literature that will intrigue children for many future generations

5-0 out of 5 stars 50 Bellow Zero
I liked the book 50 Bellow Zero. It is a very funny book.I liked when the kid started sleeping on top of the refrigerator. It was also funny when the dad was sleeping out side. I studied this book for seven months. After we studied the book we did a play on it.I would recomend this book to a little kid.

4-0 out of 5 stars Another winner from Munsch!
Like all Munsch books, this book starts with an absurd premise - a boy brings his baby sister to school for show-and-tell - some over-the-top adult goofiness - the teacher makes the baby cry by rocking her too quickly, the nurse decides to give the baby a shot for crying and pulls out a HUGE needle bigger than the baby! - and a cheerfully silly happy ending - afterwards everybody brings something silly and special for show-and-tell. (This is a great scene, because you can find characters from other Munsch books in the illustrations!)

No redeeming value, no moral, just pure fun. Love it!

4-0 out of 5 stars Classic Munsch
Another winner!Robert Munsch is one of my favorite authors and I love his child-like approach to many of his stories.Although Show & Tell (as WE remember it from our own childhoods) isn't as prevalent in schools now, but this book gives a very funny view.A bit derrogatory towards the teacher & principal.

5-0 out of 5 stars A hilarious story by Munsch
Benjamin picks his baby sister up out of her crib, puts her in his knapsack and takes her to school for show and tell. She then wakes up and begins to cry.It is hilarious to watch the flustered adults in charge alltry to get her to be quiet.I read this to my kindergarten class, and weall laughed so hard we cried.(If you like Stephanie's Ponytail, you'lllike this one, too!)Munsch's dialog is clever, and there is just theright amount of repetition in the story for kids to chime in as it is readaloud. This is a fun book for a child with a new baby at home, too. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Great book, great author
Pigs is a funny book that both children and parents will enjoy. My grandchildren love it and so did the young children I read it to when I was teaching.Robert Munsch writes books that children love. The illustrations are equally as engaging.

4-0 out of 5 stars Pretty funny
The illustrations of the pigs taking over Megan's school sell the book, really.

I will note that if you're concerned about the use of the word "dumb" as an insult that you might want to read this book before you buy it. Honestly, though, as insulting the pigs is exactly what gets Megan into trouble, I think the lesson "choose your words carefully" speaks for itself.

5-0 out of 5 stars A fun book
This is a fun book to read to a child or to read to yourself, great pictures and a great story. There are still some good childres books out there

5-0 out of 5 stars funny, irreverent story
Yes, everyone does dumb things. It seems that underestimating pigs is a dumb thing to do.Megan, unfortunately, has to learn the hard way.
As someone who did work with pigs as a kid, when I read this I thought it was great. It's not terribly educational, or inspiring, or anything like that. But gosh, it's entertaining. The pictures of the pigs are really funny, of course.I recommend _Pigs_ for the same kids who liked _Eloise_.

2-0 out of 5 stars Not his best
My 3 1/2 year old daughter is a huge Munch fan and likes this one well enough, but it's my least favourite. She tends to memorize books and quote them constantly, and I'm not thrilled with the "hey, you dumb...." mantra. This is kind of minor, but how was it that the pigs showed up at school after Megan locked them back in at home? If you're wanting to add to your Munch collection, he's written better.Alligator Baby and Thomas's Snowsuit are fun without the insults and a little more logically consistent. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Awesome for any child
Stephanie's ponytail is a lovely and clever written book that I bought for my six years old daughter, Stephanie. The moral of the story is that it's okay to be different. My daughter and I enjoyed the story; my daughter laughed so hard during the last four pages of the story when everyone in her class shaved his/her head. I would also recommend two other books written by Jon Muth, Zen shorts and the Three Questions.

5-0 out of 5 stars Children can actively participate in the reading of this book!
Why do I like Robert Munsch books? He has a certain flare for getting children sucked into the story on the first page.He uses repetitive phrases that children enjoy chanting with the reader . . .so now they are active participants instead of passive listeners. As a librarian, I can tell you I can't keep this book or any of his others on the shelf.

4-0 out of 5 stars A new favorite for us
The copy of Stephanie's Ponytail that I bought is a miniature book, which has the disadvantage of being too small to read easily with a squirmy kid beside you. The story, however, is perfect and has a PERFECT ending. Now I just need to get a normal sized copy.

1-0 out of 5 stars What agenda are we touting?
I enjoy Robert Munsch's book "Love You Forever" so was excited to see that my daughter picked up this book. However, after she read it to me I was not so excited.I feel that this book is showing children that it is okay for boys to wear girl's clothes. That may be okay for some people, but in my house where we believe the Bible calls for a man to marry a woman, it is not okay with me. I was disappointed in this book. I feel that it has a veiled agenda.

4-0 out of 5 stars It was a good book.
It was a good book. There was a girl named Amanda and a boy Jeremiah. When the boy yelled, "Give me that book" to the girl it was funny. When the girl told the boy, "Give me that block!", the boy said, "No, I got this block first." Robert Munsch is a good writer and makes the book interesting.

5-0 out of 5 stars the best book he ever wrote.

Andrew's Loose Tooth is about Andrew's tooth that was soooo loose.Everyone tried to pull it out, even the tooth fairy came!I like this book because I have lots of loose teeth.I like the tooth fairy and the tooth fairy came to Andrew. It was funny! Please read this book and I hope you like it!

2-0 out of 5 stars Cute, but not for kids with loose teeth
I found this at a book sale and thought it might be helpful when my granddaughter starts losing her teeth in the next year or so. Wrong. This book while humorous and cute, certainly will ratchet up the fear level in a small child who fears pain or has had a bad experience with a dentist or a tooth.

4-0 out of 5 stars Hysterical, rolling on the floor FUNNY!
Andrew has a loose tooth. And it hurts. It hurts so much, he can't eat an apple. And all the grown-ups try absurdly improbable things to get the tooth out - pliers, pulling using his nose as leverage, tying the tooth to the car and driving away... I'll stop for a second and say I don't see how any child could be scared of that scene. The car FALLS APART instead of the tooth coming out! It's clearly not intended to be a realistic scenario.

Eventually, Andrew's friend calls in the tooth fairy. This is no pampered twinkletoes in a frilly dress. No, this is a fully-grown rocking biker chick with a leather jacket. Dude. How awesome is that??? But even with HER tools she can't get that tooth out. Luckily, Andrew's friend saves the day again - with pepper! Andrew sneezes that tooth all the way across town, giving us a great view of the tooth fairy catching it in a net at high speed.

I adore this book. I especially like the diversity of the cast - Andrew has an interracial family, and the people in the background when the tooth fairy catches the tooth come from a variety of ethnic groups. Unless your child is especially sensitive, I can't imagine they wouldn't like this book!

4-0 out of 5 stars A funny...not scary story
Your kids will love this book.Kids have a way of appreciating the exaggerated humor that is exhibited in this book. There's nothing scary about this book, despite what some uptight, over protective, adults might think.

5-0 out of 5 stars Hilarious!
In spite of a reviewer's claim that this book is scary, my twins who are six and a half and starting to experience their first loose tooth, found this book hilarious. At first, they were apprehensive but once I explained the humor of the story, they thought it was funny. And it is funny. It is a wild crazy sense of humor book on losing your tooth. Andrew's mom and dad just couldn't get the loose tooth out so Andrew could eat his apple. The dentist couldn't do it. The Tooth Fairy couldn't do it. But Andrew's best friend could.

One of my twins is experiencing a loose tooth at the moment and he was a bit nervous and asked me if we were going to tie his loose tooth to the car and I exclaimed in mock horror, "Oh no! The car will fall apart." He remembered the book and started giggling. He still has the loose tooth but this book helps allay his fear of what to expect, though he misses not eating an apple, just like Andrew.

This book is also wonderful for budding readers as well. It is humorous and the illustrations are wonderful. This book is one that kids can relate to and it appeals to their exaggerated sense of humor that they have now. If your child is scared after reading this book, it is a perfect opportunity for the parents to talk with the child and reassure him/her about the exciting changes that is going on in their lives.

4-0 out of 5 stars cute
These are cute tiny books. My daughter likes them because they are easy to hold and take places. The story is cute, another crazy story from one of our favorite authors. :o)

4-0 out of 5 stars I love this one
I bought this one for my niece, because she looks a little like the protagonist and they have similar names. Both my nieces like this one, probably because it's so absurd.

Angela inadvertently, at the age of five, steals an airplane. With help from the tower she manages to land... sorta... well, they say any landing you walk away from is a good landing!

At the end, we're told that she grew up to become an airplane pilot, a fitting career.

The whole scenario, especially the dialog, is absurdly unrealistic, and it has my nieces in stitches every time. After all, if you or I crashed a plane, you can bet our dad would do more than just ask us to promise not to do it again!

I can't recommend this one enough.

Edit: Please note that this edition of the book, the "Annikins" edition, is a specially small version of the book, as explained in the product information.
