5-0 out of 5 stars LOVE this book!
We actually got this book from the library. From the condition that it is in you can tell that it is a well loved book! My daughter fell in love with it so now I have to get a copy for us as I have been asked to read it two or three times a night! It is definately one of her favorites!

It has a fun rhythm and is kind of unexpected!! I would reccommend this book to anyone!

4-0 out of 5 stars Delicious Fun!
I got this book a my job (a library) for my three year old.She loved it so much that I had to buy it for our own collection. We have read it so much that she can now quote some lines for it and that has never happened before! The pictures are also bright and interesting to look at.Great Fun.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Teaching Tool
I used this book to teach figures of speech in a humorous and interesting way in the classroom. Even my middle grade students were not "insulted" by using a children's book in their class. My own grandchildren enjoyed it so much I ordered it for them to have at home.

5-0 out of 5 stars Just as much fun for parents!
I first took this book to my 3-year-old son's preschool class to read to all the little kiddos when they were studying food groups. Now, my 3-year-old son loves this book because of the personalities of the various foods and the rhythm of the storytelling. He can recite it almost from memory. He loves it so much that lines from the book sometimes become punch lines in our day-to-day conversation."Hey, wait for me, the ketchup cried!" he will shout and giggle as he's trying to catch up while walking. As the parent, I love the plays on words--it's so creative and captures my interest, as well. This book and "Pigeon Finds a Hotdog" are my son's all-time favorite books.

5-0 out of 5 stars Daughter's fav book
My little 2 year old heard this story for the first time at school. She kept saying the words that she had memorized and we had to go buy it for home.Since we purchased it three months ago, we read it almost every night (sometimes several times a day). The kids go wild for this story and you will too! ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Second-grade class loved it!
I read this to my class. They loved it. It is filled with humor and elicited many laughs from my students. They also reread the book on their own which always makes a teacher smile. I will put this book on my list to read every year.

5-0 out of 5 stars Kids (and adults) love this!
My 6th grade students loved this book and I must admit, I loved it, too!Fabulous!!

5-0 out of 5 stars Highly recommended
My first-grader begged us for this book after having read it repeatedly at school. It's still one of her very favorites. The poems are silly and witty and fun to read aloud, and the illustrations are funny as well. Books like this really help young children develop a love for words and for reading.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great rhyming book for kids
This is a great rhyming book for students. It seems really relateable for children because of the content that it is written about.I was able to relate to it by remembering my school days and I found the poems to be somewhat funny.

5-0 out of 5 stars Splendid imagery, language, expression
If you want to feel less alone in the real world of honest feelings, if you want to get in touch with true feelings, if you want to understand your emotions and explore your guilt and really dig deeper than sentiment--Carol Diggery Shields is the poet for you. Her voice is more original and her psychological depth deeper than most contemporary poets. She makes you feel less alone with your inner life. There is no sentimental frosting here. This is accessible and original poetry with a crafty use of language, a flowing free verse. I've spent my life reading poetry, and I find this poet thoroughly satisfying. Spend an evening or a morning or both with her LUNCH MONEY AND OTHER POEMS ABOUT SCHOOL and you will be moved and amazed at the original angles she takes on truth and human feelings and relationships. This is a poet of psychological, philosphical realization--a thinker who really probes the inner life with grace of expression. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars A great atlas
This is an excellent atlas with an endless array of photos of both common and uncommon orbital and periocular tumors. But that is really all this book is. 4-0 out of 5 stars Great Pictures
This is an excellent atlas for intraocular tumors. The photos are very nice and the captions succinct. My only complaint is that the text could be more complete in terms of clinical descriptions and distinguishing characteristics of certain lesions both clinically and on diagnostic testing.

Also, there is not much detail in terms of study results or tumor management...ie why one tumor was treated with sclerouveaectomy and another with TTT and another plaque radiotherapy. One can sometimes surmise this, but it would be nice if they explained their clinical decision making for the examples they show.

Tips and pearls regarding their surgical techniques would have been a nice addition also...but I guess you have to be a fellow there to get that. ... Read more

Product Description
'The beautiful irony of "Happenstance" is that its novels are both bound together and held apart by the strength of the marriage they describe.' Rupert Christiansen, Harpers and QueenThese companion novels -- by turns touching, compassionate and humorous -- tell the stories of Jack and Brenda Bowman. In all the years of their marriage they have hardly ever been apart. In 'The Wife's Story', Brenda, now forty-years-old, and who has been surprised to discover a source of creative energy, is about to spend a week away from their home in a Chicago suburb to attend a craft convention in Philadelphia. It is her first trip alone. Removed from her familiar environment, all the gathering emotions that have unsettled her life over the last few years are focused and bring her to a crisis. Brenda is vulnerable in a strange city. She is also ready to grasp whatever experiences come her way.In 'The Husband's Story', back in Chicago, Jack faces his own crisis. It is the first time he has been left to cope on his own. He is immobilised by self-doubt, beginning to question his worth and the value of his work as a historian. Suddenly, in that one week, his world falls apart. He has to deal with an attempted suicide, a marital breakdown and, not least, their two difficult children. In the process, he manages to work out his feelings and to learn something about himself. ... Read more

Product Description
The originality, humor, and quick energy of the four previous Animagicals have been greeted with enthusiasm--witty paintings on pull-out pages compared and contrasted animals with transportation, patterns, music, and color, while lively verses expanded and elucidated the art. In these current volumes, the author and the artist, in their inimitable styles, have undertaken to explore the worlds of sports and homes: A tennis racquet turns into a beaver, a spiraled shell into a hermit crab. These unlikely combinations make enormous good sense if, like children, you have an open mind, an imaginative eye, and a belief in the power of Animagicals! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Fabulous Fun Entertaining
Our family LOVES these books! My children had some of the earlier releases when they were little & now we wanted to send some to our young twin cousins who are 4. I'm so glad that they are still making these books. The children LOVE to guess what is on the page & can't wait to turn them! (Just be careful, they will pull enthusiastically & bend all the pages) We taught the kids early on that these were extra special books & to care for them.
I hope many more families will enjoy these winning books.

4-0 out of 5 stars Great collection--this book contains some real talent!
Buy this book if only for Adam Marshall Johnson's "Your Own Backyard"--an astounding and astute look at the father/troubled son relationship. Also includes humorous offerings on your standard themes of sex and love. This is by far the best of the "Fiction Workshop" series. You'll keep this one under your bed and reread it when you're between books.

5-0 out of 5 stars Promising new writers
I found this to be an extremely enjoyable read. Here you plunge into the writings of young writers whose name rings no bell whatsoever, only to be refreshed and inspired by their "diamond-in-the-rough" talent. Ican not think of a more fulfilling way to stay on top of the burgeoningcrop of new fiction writers, and I am thankful for this opportunity.

1-0 out of 5 stars A Tremendous Bore
