Co- sponsored with the Departments of Biology and Sociology, as well as the Journalism Program and the Program in Latin American and Caribbean Studies, the focus of this academic exchange is Caribbean history, culture and marine biology. Inaugurated in 2000, African American Studies, in cooperation with the Center for International Programs Abroad, established a student and faculty academic exchange with the University of Cape Town.
