As state and federal agencies continue to encourage school systems and teachers around the country to think creatively when searching for funding for various programs, the loosely worded application requirements for new fiscal year 2000 Alaska Native Education programs appear to fit that creativity bill. The Department of Education has up to $11 million to disburse for programs that will help Alaska Natives, with individual grants ranging from $50,000 to $750,000 per year.
