Mauritius, Africa - It's been a few weeks now since WSPA and the Marchig Trust donated the mobile veterinary clinic van, and the "new car" smell is starting to wear off. PAWS, an animal welfare group on the island nation of Mauritius, has already put the specially equipped van to use and is providing companion animals with vaccination programs and spay/neuter services. "PAWS is a wonderful organization and I'm glad that WSPA and the Marchig Trust could put their funds together and donate this new mobile clinic to them," said Regional Director Garry Richardson. "Like so many other animal welfare organizations in Africa, PAWS has great potential but limited resources. This van gives them the mobility they need in order to reach the animals that wouldn't otherwise have access to veterinary care." The donation of the new van in September was just one piece of a series of WSPA projects across the African continent designed to empower animal welfare organizations and the communities they serve.
