The good news is that a number of programs, some new, some not so new, are set up to do exactly that. Involving yourself in some of these programs can be just plain good business. In the late 1990s, the name of the success game is 'relationship marketing.' In other words, many transactions are driven by the relationship between the buyer and the seller. Involving yourself in programs that bring in new shooters is a direct pipeline to new customers. They'll get to know you, and to know that you have the goods and services they're looking for. When they shop for something, they'll come to you.

Extractions: Training Center pending Across from 4840 Likini St. in Salt Lake, hidden in the bushes, is a trailer with a white shack on it. It's an eyesore. Is it legally parked? The trailer is there temporarily as an office on wheels for what organizers hope will soon become the Ellison Onizuka Archery Training Center. The city parks department is in the process of entering into a "memorandum of agreement" with the center's nonprofit group, "which will be partnering with the city to clear the area and provide archery recreational opportunities for the public," said parks spokeswoman Patti Nagao. The department is also in the process of obtaining ownership of an access area from the Board of Water Supply. Once that's done, the trailer will be moved, she said. Larry Paglinawan, president of the archers group, said the project is supported by the Salt Lake Neighborhood Board, with work to be done mostly by volunteers and through fund-raising. Because of a "miscommunication," volunteers, with city permission, began clearing the bottom area for an entranceway, he said. But it's clear now that access to the range will be from the top of a 350-foot cliff, he said.
News AntiDoping tests in archery, recreational or elite? archery is predominantlya recreational sport, which can be played by young and old alike. http://www.archery.org/fita_committees/medical/article_doping_english.htm
Extractions: Anti-Doping tests in Archery, recreational or elite? Archery is predominantly a recreational sport, which can be played by young and old alike. It does not require a great deal of athleticism to achieve a certain level of scores and thus many recreational archers may participate in the sport while suffering from chronic medical conditions. The problem arises when someone on prescribed medication participates in a local or national tournament and is randomly selected by doping control for testing. The archer may not even realise that the medication that their doctor prescribed was listed by the IOC or by FITA as a drug which cannot be used by an archer in competition. What to do? FITA makes provision in world tournaments for archers to notify the FITA medical committee what prescribed medications are being taken 21 days in advance of competition so that they may be notified whether or not they may compete while on those medications. It is recommended that National Member Associations make similar arrangements for their recreational archers who take part in local and National tournaments. While it is not the intention of FITA to penalise the recreational archer by its anti-doping policy it is likely that the political intention of National Anti-Doping authorities will trap the unwary.
