The program, funded by the National Science Foundation (NSF) with support from both NOAA and the AMS, is an evolution of the education initiatives adopted by the AMS to promote pre-college science education utilizing the study of weather, ocean, and hydrologic topics to stimulate interest in science and mathematics. http://www.ametsoc.org/amsedu/aera/index.html The National Council of Industrial Meteorologists (NCIM) Summer Intern Program provides internships with a firm having an NCIM member. The intent of this program is to provide work experience for up to four students nationwide to help defray their expenses for working at an NCIM member's business.
