Product Description
Like 15 "X-Files" rolled into one, Strange Encounters by ufologist and journalist, Curt Sutherly, shares gripping stories that run the gamut from monster sightings to UFO cover-ups.

Strange Encounters confronts the unknown head-on, probing some of the inexplicable mysteries that will intrigue you, haunt you, and even frighten you. The remarkable yet true events documented here indicate a striking pattern of strange occurrences you will not be able to dismiss—or forget.

·Why do probes to Mars vanish? Is there some "great galactic ghoul" that devours them?
·Before the Russian "Fobos 2" probe stopped functioning, it showed a massive system for heat generation, an invisible object which cast a shadow, and an object in space that cannot be identified. What is the meaning of all these discoveries?
·What is the truth about the MJ-12 documents that purportedly reveal that the government knows much more about UFO's than it admits?
·What is the nature of the "phantom panther" that is seen all over the U.S. East Coast?
·What happened to the "mothman," a strange, human-sized creature with bat-like wings that terrorized West Virginia?
·What are the secrets of the Abominable Snowman?
·What is the truth about the Bermuda Triangle?
·What are the real beginnings of the UFO controversy?

Strange Encounters is one of the most exciting books covering important events from the world of the strange and paranormal over the past 50 years. Rather than tell you what to believe, it gives you information from all sides of each strange event and lets you decide for yourself. Strange Encounters is a book you must have.

3-0 out of 5 stars Overall, pretty good.
I read many of these kinds of books, and while I appreciate this author's even-handed approach, and while some of the cases in this book were undoubtedly fascinating, I must quibble over a few points. The author name-drops an awful lot (he mentions meeting various luminaries in the field multiple times, and not just in the introduction, where it is entirely appropriate) and eventually this becomes tiresome and feels like he's trying to convince us of his legitimacy. But more irritating was the chapter about the UFO conference, wherein he describes a very ethereal woman who seems to know more than she should. It all appears to be leading up to something, and then, turn the page, and...nothing.While I understand this illustrates the very frustrating nature of the field, I do not believe the chapter should have been included unless the author intended to speculate. He speculates in other chapters. Why not this one? This is most disappointing because the chapter is one of the most intriguing in the book, being the author's first-hand experience.

A minor flaw in a book which was, overall, quite entertaining. Many of the cases originate in Pennsylvania, but this is probably because the author is from the area and thus is commenting on actual events he reported on.

5-0 out of 5 stars Good read!
This is a great book. There should be more like it, it opens the mind a little bit to the strange an possible, it kept me glued to the pages. You never know until you experience it!

4-0 out of 5 stars WOW!!!
Once in a while a book comes along that really holds your attention.I can imagine times when I felt uneasy after I heard a creak in the night or the russle of leaves behind me when hiking. This book makes the hair stand up on the back of you neck, and to think, it was based on true stories. Great work Southerly.

5-0 out of 5 stars UFOs: Physcial or more "metaphysical?"
Curt Sutherly's book is an excellent read. He places UFOs into their true context: Are we dealing with a phenomenon that is physical or "metaphysical" as he calls it. In his dandy forward he sets thetone of the book by noting, "....he dismissed the prevailing beliefthat UFOs are extraterrestrial spacecraft and began working under theassumption that something far more odd and complex is at work...What someof us failed to take into account was the potential for heightenedemotional and psychological stress. For Raymond and a number ofothers....the stress arising from the unrelenting (and other undisciplined)study of UFOs was worsened by a belief that the phenomenon was moremetaphysical than physical." UFOs, black panthers, Big Birds,Bigfoot, and aliens; Curt puts them all into the proper perspective. My owninvestigations in the Troup-Heard Corridor of westcentral Georgia andeastcentral Alabama have confirmed what Curt writes so well of. Aninformative page-turner. I recommend it to all.

From the subjects of early cave paintings to ancient art and scriptures, history would seem to indicate that we may have had visitors from other worlds or dimensions. In fact, some ancient scriptures, give the impression that it was common knowledge that we've had visitors. How do you explain ancient tales of chariots from the sky? And what of flying ships appearing in art before the first plane was thought about. Even the Bible has been suggested as evidence of alien contact, for its many accounts of objects in the sky, wondrous miracles and other strange events. What secrets lie in ancient Egypt, Stonehenge, or Atlantis? Have there been advanced civilizations of man that have been lost? Among countless stars, is the Earth the only planet blessed with life? 1-0 out of 5 stars Badly written book with false data!
Too bad the author didn't do his research. Worse, the spelling and grammatical mistakes make it seem it is written by an 8th grader. It starts on the very first page! I gave it the benefit of the doubt and kept reading, but by page 56 it became overly frustrating to even read further. Plus, he reviews the story of Bob Lazar, who allegedly worked at Area 51, S4 facility. Mr. Lazar has been proven to be a fake a long time ago by such noted researchers as Stanton Friedman. Really too bad. One just needs to take a good look at the cover, take a look at the alien. What do you see? A picture is worth a thousand words, as it were. Sorry, take a pass on this one.

Product Description
The truth begins here

Author and award-winning Journalist Jim Marrs has uncovered compelling new evidence regarding extraterrestrials-that alien life forms have not only visited our planet in the past, but are among us right now. Drawing on numerous eyewitness accounts, highly classified CIA reports, and his own meticulous research, Marrs marshals an impressive array of facts to confirm the reality of UFOs--as well as the depth of the government campaign to keep America in the dark. Here is information unavailable in any other single source, including:

  • Intriguing insights into the 1947 Roswell crash and the U.S. military's efforts to suppress all public inquiries
  • Detailed accounts of UFO landing sites in South America and of abductions in the U.S.
  • Vivid descriptions of UFOs by Apollo astronauts-in their own words
  • Tantalizing clues to the alien timetable for revealing their plans here
  • And much more!
Amazon.com Review
Alien Agenda is the silk thread leading the way throughthe maze of UFO literature into the heart of the UFOcontroversy. While he begins with the premise that the existence ofUFOs cannot be denied, Jim Marrs (author of Crossfire, the motherof all John F. Kennedy assassination conspiracy books) boldly stridesinto the battle over what UFOs are and why they are here. Marrs'sinvestigative skills are invaluable in this re-examination ofquestions that have been overlooked, unaddressed, or unsatisfactorilyresolved. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Another great book from Jim Marr
If you are curious about the existence of aliens this book is for you.It provides a historial account of contact with extra terrestials that the mainstreet media refuse to report on.I highly recommend this book.

4-0 out of 5 stars A Great Read
Whether you take it as fact or fiction - I'm note quite sure just what to believe - Alien Agenda is both interesting and entertaining. I would recommend it to anyone curious about the possibility of extraterrestrial presence and UFOs.

4-0 out of 5 stars A real Ufo investigation
This book is one of the more complete journalistic reportage I ever read about Ufo. In my opinion Marrs has made a very interesting overview about what all we know about the supposed alien phenomenon in earth. I am only rather puzzled about the territoriality faced by this book. I mean that Ufo issue is quite spreads all over the planet, so to write meanly about what is going on only in the States, to me is a reductive point of view. But, of course, that's could be an author's choice.

5-0 out of 5 stars The hollow Moon theory
This book is a lot of fun in particular I liked the The hollow Moon theory. Also includes an overview of all your basic UFO stories.

The truth is out there and it is fascinating.

4-0 out of 5 stars Very good
I really enjoyed this book. I failed to grasp the key to what was going to be an explanation of the Alien Agenda that was promised by the title. The author did a lot of homework for this book, well done. ... Read more

Product Description
The proof of UFO visitations - from human anecdotes, videos and photographs to once secret documents - is overwhelming. Mankind's historical record is replete with accounts of flying objects and unearthly visitations. Today with the widespread use of video and cameras, the evidence of UFO activity gains weight almost daily. It's not limited to lights in the sky. Associated activities include animal mutilations, crop circles, scrutiny of military installations and even human abductions. What is the nature of these visitors? Are they beings from another plant? Another dimension? A different time? More importantly, what are their intentions. This work aims to break through the misconceptions and conflicting theories. Focusing on some of the most respected UFO investigators and their evidence, it seeks to uncover the purpose of UFO occupants. Jim Marrs is the author of "Crossfire: The Plot that Killed Kennedy". ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars A must starting place for the subject!
Jim Marrs is one of the best research journalists of all time.If you are interested in the subject topic, then begin your adventure here. This book blows your mind. The only negative comment I would give it is.......where is the follow-up?I read this book a few years ago and jump back to it time and time again.I would love to see a sequel.Once you read this book you will be hooked on Marrs with his understanding of "The hidden agenda".

5-0 out of 5 stars One HECK of a great book!
This is a book that is outstanding! It was easy to read and filled with all kinds of reference that kept me marking the edges of the book with notes and references.Well researched and fun and easy to read...this is THE book for understanding what UFO's and aliens are all about. He really did a great job. After reading this book I went and read all of his other books, that is how much I enjoyed this book. This is a "WOW" book.It has everything.Story after story and example after example. The references that he gives are not your typical examples, but rather some brilliantly selected issues that just makes you want to put the book down and go..."HUMMMM".This is a book that deserves praise. This is quite an outstanding book.I wholly recommend it.You will not regret it.

2-0 out of 5 stars It Could Have Been Better!
While the author does include many interesting and well-documented UFO experiences, his research was far too sloppy.A case in point is a reference to a well-known fraud and author of occult books who poses as a Tibetan lama.Apparently, Mr. Marrs was too busy to uncover this fact while writing his tome.Lapses of this kind weaken his claim to legitimacy in the UFO field. ...
