5-0 out of 5 stars A Classic for the early reader
Definition of a classic:it never grows old.The bears will be an early read for the toddler.A simple vocabulary with enough action to keep the reader on task this chapter in the Berenstain bear sagas that has stood the test of time.A beginner's book ,for sure, but it will lead to many more bear stories.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great book
I bought this for the kids at Christmas and they love the book they ask me to read it every night Plus now they play the Bear's in the night.

5-0 out of 5 stars What a delight
From the moment my son ripped off the gift wrapping I knew it would be a bedtime must read. He had seen it at his grandma's house and already knew the story off by heart. Now he has his own copy (grandma's is 40 years old!) and just loves it.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great for Toddler AND older Preschoolers
This book is a classic, and great for many ages. Although recommended ages are 4-6, because there are only a few words on each page, and there is a repetition and rhythm to the story, it works well for younger children as well - I would recommend ages 1-6.

I started reading this to my daughter at 14 months and it is a favorite and much requested book. She recognizes the simple words (Out the window! Down the tree!) and loves to anticipate the 'surprise' at the end.

Our older cousin came for a visit and he too loves the book - at 5 he is just starting to read. He thought this was a great story. It is good for an early reader because the words are simple, repeat often, and the story is short enough for children patient enough to read longer stories themselves. And the 'suspense' is a hit at any age.

Can't say enough great things about this book - it is a must for every library

5-0 out of 5 stars A great way to introduce Prepositions to younglings
This book is wonderfully illustrated, easy to read and memorize, and your kids will love it!

Bears in the Night is a brilliant story.

4-0 out of 5 stars An interesting journey through the mining regions of Colorado 100 years ago.
The journey these guys go on in just over a month is amazing.Even with the current roads and highways, this would be quite a trek. The cool part is how they used a bunch of mountain passes that aren't really used anymore. And the documentation the provide of the ingenuity of the miners and the infrastructure they installed is amazing.Highly recommended for Colorado mountain fans, and fans of the history of mining. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars The Great Unicorn Dupe
Although this is a great applique book, it is IDENTICAL to Creative Medieval Designs for Applique, except for the title, and the astronomical price it commands. Buy either title at an affordable price and rest assured you have all that this author can offer on her subject.

5-0 out of 5 stars Sweet and wonderful.
MY 2 1/2 years old son loves this book so much. With a little bit of play and imagination you could make it fun and lovable for your kids to have a good bed time story. It's so lovable the way the moon talks to the bear and the way the bear does all the things for the moon. My son loves it when the moon says "That's ok, I still love you." He always has a big smile and giggles.

5-0 out of 5 stars Wonderful!
This was really a great book!I would totally reccommend this to all, young and old!!

5-0 out of 5 stars Read over and over
This book was recommended by my wife as a childhood favorite. After we received and read it the first time, we thought, "Well, it must have been good back then."

After reading it over and over and over and over with out our toddler, we realized its one of the few that we haven't gotten tired of (if you know what I mean). So thus, I would recommend it to any parent to add to their child's collection of books for some good mommy/daddy and toddler time.

5-0 out of 5 stars My son loves this book
My son is almost 3.He loves this book.I am not sure why.The rocket ship?He loves pretending to fall asleep when we count down 10 to 1, he is really in to it.I am pretty sure he doesn't understand about the seasons, so I think he thinks bear really goes to the moon. For whatever reason -- he is not a kid who likes very many books, and this is a nice change from Go, Dog, Go.

5-0 out of 5 stars Uh, the best book ever!
I will never forget this book. I don't know why. That slice of moon looked so delicious, I guess.

5-0 out of 5 stars Provides for an interactive story time
Bear builds a spaceship to visit the moon during wintertime.Meanwhile his friends migrate to warmer climates.Bear falls asleep during the countdown (children will join you, 10, 9, 8 . . . ).

Bear awakens to the sight of snow and assumes he has landed on the moon.He helps himself to some mooncake and it tastes familiar.Bear boards his spaceship and once again, falls asleep during the countdown. He is excited to share the news with his friends who have returned.

Migration/Hibernation.A story time favorite.Delightful.

It breaks my heart when books like this go out of print!

5-0 out of 5 stars Mooncake
Although some of the concepts may be difficult for young ones to grasp (hibernation, space travel, etc.), the easy reading, simple characters and delightful pictures make this a wonderful addition to a children's library. The story is subtle in what it is trying to teach as it doesn't overtly mention all of the seasons and doesn't explain hibernation. It doesn't need to and doing so would take away from the story. It presents a wonderful opportunity for parents to teach their children more on their own.Besides that, it is one I am asked to read over and over again by my 2 year old. ...
