Limited information
I am a medical Physicist and hence have some information about opportunities in health care. I bought this book because i wanted to prepare a general talk about different opportunities in health care.

The book has covered many of the health and medical career. I was pleasantly surprised to see medical physics also covered. The main shortfalls of this book is the lack of substance. If you are looking for in depth coverage of any of the career options you will be dissappointed. The book is only 134 pages covering more than 50 professions- so most are covered withhalf a page. Also the salary information is seriously outdated. It quoted the average income for a physician assistantto be 64000 and my research from American Academy of Physician Assistant found it to be 86214.It states the salary for radiation therapy technology to be in the range of 25000 to 35000. The current radiation therapy salary start from 45000 to 80000. Most of the professions that i haveresearched and gotten reliable information about the salary, those quoted in this book are way below the current going rate. Helpful book
I have been in nursing for over 10 years and have held a good number of travel jobs.The resume examples in this book gave me an idea of how to update my resume and highlight my skills.I knocked off a star because the sample resumes were the only part of the book that I found helpful.The other content was just okay.I have gotten a very good response and many compliments on my new resume.I would recommend this book if you have never written a resume for a healthcare job or are updating after several years, as today's resumes are quite different from only a few years ago.

Might run into something you like
Not a bad book. Decently informative.

Brief, and generally informative on certain occupations in the health fields. It sheds light into health fields NOT in traditional medicine will likely be appreciated by people who are into taking care of their own health and that of others. If you're someone who's looking to get into a health field - I recommend you read this because you might find something you like.

The author goes over jobs typically in hospitals, clinics, and other private settings (nursing, midwife, etc.). Jobs in a gyms, such as personal training. Other cools jobs such as physical therapy and occupation therapy. She goes into alternative medicine jobs. She also discusses schedule, lifestyle, salary, and such details to a decent degree, and tells you where you can get more info.

I enjoyed reading it because I learned about occupational therapy, a field I never heard about but that is pretty cool, and has an awesome, wholesome and compassionate guiding philosophy. It inspired me to learn more about this field and to consider it as a reality for myself in the future.

This book may not change your life at all... but it might. Haha. Overall, recommended read.

It covers the basics, but maybe could be a little more detailed.
It was good to look at a book that gave examples of resumes (including CVs) and cover letters specifically for medical professionals, but some of the background information could have been more detailed.The chapters and cover letter examples went over the basics that you would find in any resume guide.The book really didn't go into much detail about how to sell yourself or how to find jobs compared to other books -- but maybe it's not supposed to.The reason I would recommend this book is that it gives more than the one token "medical" resume that more general guides have and shows examples for a wide range of medical careers, including physician.

I highly recommend this book to anyone in medicine.
