I think is the most modern & full English-Russian dictionary
I think is the most modern and full English-Russian dictionary on computer sciences. It is the unique modern English-Russian dictionary, which one is constructed on a classic dictionary system with enlarged vocabulary entries. All remaining dictionaries are constructed simply as the lists of the words with translation (For me at home and on work is 7 miscellaneous English-Russian dictionaries on computer science. I can compare.) The dictionary system with enlarged vocabulary entries is very convenient for search of word collocations and typical phrases. I also have purchased this dictionary as electronic dictionary Polyglossum. It even more conveniently also is more robust, as I have received for the same money also possibilities of the Russian-English dictionary on computer science.

Bait and Switch
This book is not a Spanish-English Dictionary of Internet & Computer terms.I work in Latin America, doing technical service for computers of Americans and also teaching Basic Computing to Spanish speakers.This book:
1. Does not give Spanish terms. - ex. "Hard Disk" does not mention "Disco Duro" as the popular Spanish term.
2. Gives poor definitions. - ex. "Crash" defined as "An important computer failure".Well, duh.What is should say is something to the effect of when there is a problem with either a program, hardware, or the combination, the system must be restarted to correct it.
3. Does not list many important everyday items. - ex. "Network Card", or "NIC" are not listed.
4. Does list old and very outdated items. - ex. "Keypunch" - when was the last time anyone used a keypunch machine?

All this to say - do not buy this book.It is a waste of pulp! ... Read more

Eminently readable; well put-together; still useful today
This book is just what the title states: a reference dictionary. What's useful about it is that the definitions are understandable and make sense to professionals and non-professionals alike.Certainly not every term I'd like to find is in there, simply because the book is a few years old. But surprisingly many terms are still used and very applicable.

Some of the definitions are even written with a bit of an edge, which is refreshing. Any dictionary that ventures at all beyond the boring is a winner in my book.

Buy this if you'd like clear, correct, readable definitions of many Internet and networking terms. But it's not for you if you only want to know the latest terminology or trends. ... Read more
