The recipe book is in a hard cover, loose leaf book.
When I received the Slow Cook recipe book, the entire last section of the book was ripped away from the binder.I was disappointed in the condition of the book when it arrived on my doorstep.

A Good Cookbook
This is overall a good cook book. It has many, many recipes in it. I was somewhat disappointed in that a lot of the recipes are designed for a small (4 1/2 qt.) cooker. Mine is a 6 qt. so I am working on extending the recipes for the larger cooker. The recipes I have tried are really easy to make and very good.

Too many cans ...
I bought this book because I went back to work and wanted to use our crockpot more often, but should have looked around some more.While this book didn't seem to have as many recipes that required a lot of preparation - sometimes the prep work negates the benefit of using the darned thing in the first place - it also relies too much on canned products, in my opinion.If all I need to do is open a can, I could just buy some Chunky Soup and skip the whole cooking process.

I was hoping for something a little more healthy and can probably make some of these recipes work with minor adjustments - and it might be great for beginning cooks. It just wasn't worth $10.20 for me and I wish I hadn't spent the money.

I never made soup before I got this wonderful cookbook. Now I try to make a soup or stew at least once a week. Very easy to make and tasty.

Worst Cookbook Ever!
Aside from the horrific formatting - no spaces between words, ingredients and instructions often listedasonlongwordwithoutspacesorpunctuation...you get the picture...aside from this, this cookbook basically sucks:there are many, many, MANY recipes for Apple Butter (WTF?) Many.Like every 3rd page many.And pickles. LOTS of recipes for pickles.

The first recipes in the book are not even FOR a Crock Pot...you need to use the oven. Why, why WHY are they included?

A lot of recipes repeated over and over - it's hard to tell cuz there's no easy way to leaf through them and there is no rhyme or reason to where they appear: meat, veggies, soup, desserts all bunched together, then repeated a few pages later. I happened upon the same recipes for Mac and Cheese at least nine times, in between the Apple Butter and pickle recipes. Every Vegetable Soup recipe - there are several - I looked at had beef as the first ingredient.

Lastly, there is nothing new here - all the recipes are the same old same old you find in the little book thingy you get when you buy a Crock Pot.Except those are actually readable!! ... Read more

Don't waste your money.
No table of contents, just recipe after recipe in no logical order for a cookbook. No chapters or sections for different types of food. For example the first recipe is a soup, the second is a stew, the third is macaroni cheese and the fourth is a dessert!! Impossible to navigate through the recipes. No thought or effort has been put in to producing this book.

Lots of lovely recipes BUT
I realize I paid next to nothing for this book and I appreciate all the work that went into compiling it. My problem is the lack of a list of recipes. I don't need an actual index with page numbers, but a list so I can search for a particular recipe.I fear it may be too difficult to use. :-(

What is this... a joke?
I don't recommend anyone buy this item at any price. The disappointment you'll experience upon receipt is just not worth it. This looks like it was generated by a poorly set up database. There's no personality in it anywhere. Each page has a header that repeats the recipe name twice. There are typos throughout and spots where data is missing. At the end of each recipe there is a purported number of servings the recipe yields, but many of them just say 1.

The recipes are arranged(?) in alphabetical order, but since most of them are named Crock Pot..., Crockpot..., Crock-pot..., or Crockery... they sort out in a mostly unusable order. Imagine the tips you expect at the beginning of a book are found on pgs. 169-172 because they're titled... you guessed it: Crockpot Tips, Crockpot Tips I and Crockpot Tips Ii.

There are too many excellent alternatives to this title for anyone to waste money on this item.

Poorly put together.
This "book" is a joke. It's like someone just got recipes on-line, printed them on paper and called it a book. A lot of the recipes are in here twice, the order is all messed up. And some of the recipes aren't even written correctly. The ingredients list on some of them is in step 1 of the cooking process, in paragraph form. Which makes it very difficult to read.
