Product Description
In recent years a growing number of corporationshave committed considerable resources to risk management, indicating the potential for riskmanagement to protect and increase firm value. One can argue that most prior attempts to directlylink the value of the firm to its hedging strategies are rather scant. Moreover, severalquestions with regards to firms? risk management activities remain unanswered. This book deals with aseries of questions regarding corporate riskmanagement in modern U.S. multinational corporations. In the first part we, test the valuation effects ofcurrency hedging policies of firms around extraordinary exchange rate instabilityevents, which provide us with a unique set ofexogenous events to assess the effectiveness ofcurrency risk management on firm value. In thesecond part we investigate the relationship betweencurrency risk management activities, firm value andthe agency-related costs arising from the separationof ownership and control. The Corporate GovernanceIndex (G); a state of the art measure, to proxy forthe level of agency costs is used in our analysis. ... Read more

Product Description
This book is about the Single Global Currency which should, and likely will, replace most currencies of the world by the year 2024. That is the goal of the author and the publisher, the Single Global Currency Association, of Newcastle, Maine, USA.
The Single Global Currency would be managed by a Global Central Bank within a Global Monetary Union, just as the euro is now managed by the European Central Bank within the European Monetary Union.
The book describes the history of currencies and the movement toward national currencies and then monetary unions.
The core of this book is the 2006 Original Edition plus the 2009 Addendum about the events and articles of 2008 relating to the Single Global Currency. This may be the most important book ever read by most readers, because the topic will save the world--trillions.
The benefits of a Single Global Currency are vast, and are summarized on the back cover.
In a 3-G WORLD with a SINGLE GLOBAL CURRENCY managed by a GLOBAL CENTRAL BANK within a GLOBAL MONETARY UNION:
- Annual transaction costs of $400 billion will be eliminated.
- Worldwide asset values will increase by about $36 trillion.
- Worldwide GDP will increase by about $9 trillion.
- Global currency imbalances will be eliminated.
- All Balance of Payments problems will be eliminated.
- Currency crises will be prevented.
- Currency speculation will be eliminated.
- The need for foreign exchange reserves will be eliminated.
Such gains are realistic and attainable if the world decides to pursue them. The monetary unions of Europe, the Caribbean, Africa and Brunei/Singapore have shown the way.
Buy and read this book and, then please buy two more and pass them on to others and encourage them to do the same; and work to save the world - trillions. What the people of the world want is sound, stable money and the end to the obsolete multicurrency foreign exchange system.
This is one of only two books in print about the single global currency. The other is "A Single Global Currency - Perspectives and Challenges," by ICFAI University Press.
This is one of the few books in the world priced in 141 currencies. Each successive annual edition will be priced in the remaining number of currencies until we reach, in the words of Nobel Prize winner, Robert Mundell, that odd number less than three: one.

5-0 out of 5 stars Is a single "Global Currency" possible??
The U.S. Dollar has been the monetary "corner stone" since the
1944 Bretton Woods Conference.

The ECU or European Currency Unit--now called the EURO, is coming
very close to edging-out the dominance of the 'almighty buck".
Iran wants Petro-Euros versus U.S. Petro-Dollars in it's Oil-based
market-bourses.

China, with all it's new power, suffers from Economic Consumptionary
problems. It's like the crisis that forced Chiang-Kai-Shek from
the Chinese mainland, as Chinese farmers working on collective
farms are NOT sharing in China's "new prosperity"--or--64% of the
Chinese populace.This is SOCIAL DYNAMITE.
China's currency is way under-valued.

In short, the year 2025 A.D. is too soon for a WORLD CURRENCY.
I am a sort of an Internationalist, but nationalism, and even the
forces of ultra-nationalism , are on the rise.
Militant Islamo-fascism blots out any meaningful Internationalism.

This book, The Single Global Currency, is still an excellent treatise
in the needed Monetary Reformation of the World.

But the best ideas now in force are the Tobin Tax, and the United Nations
Law of the Seas Treaty.
These are the two "building-blocks" for a Better World Order, but not
a/the "new world order".
Concerning this book that I am reviewing;
BUY IT. I already have.
This book does call for CITIZENS ACTION FORUMS, not "focus groups",
so BUY THE BOOK!!

While prices listed for some of the coins reflect real world trend, the MAJORITY of the prices listed are just way too low.If Scott Travers can actually sell me certain coins at the prices listed, I would buy them all and resell them the next day at a 50% to 100% profit.

4-0 out of 5 stars Coin book ok, but examples of MS graded coins lacking
Plenty of information available on all the issues of US coins.Less than Mint State graded coins are shown and their condition is described, but mysteriously, examples of MS graded coins are lacking. Most collectors pursue MS graded coins and the fine differences between MS - 60 to MS 68 would have been a valuable addition to the book to train the novice.

4-0 out of 5 stars Very nice coin book
The U. S. Coin Digest is a beautiful book! I really like the hardcover/ring binding which holds up well to frequent use. The only gripe I have is the bonus CD. If you look at the instruction pages for the CD at the back of the book, you get the impression that it includes the contents of the entire book in PDF format. Unfortunately, that is not the case. It contains other information not included in the book. I would have liked the book itself to have been included on the CD for the purpose of zooming in on the coin images. Other than that, the book is really nice.

3-0 out of 5 stars Good book
This is a better that average book if you are interested in looking for what to look for in a fake coin. There are descent photos and information on tell tale signs. There is no real model to tell you of any specific markings to determine if it is a genuine coin, just what to look for in a fake. Better detail, die marking information and die pairing would have made this a great book. I recommend this to anyone who is interested in stepping into the gold coin market.

4-0 out of 5 stars A must for the raw gold coin collector
As a budding gold coin collector, this book is a must have. Currently, I have 4 gold coins in my collection. Two have been graded and are genuine specimens, one was returned counterfeit, and one I have yet to send in. Now, I have a guide to help me screen my coins.

The picture quality alone of the coins shown in this book makes it a buy. They are most helpful in showing you what to look for. Having only heard of the "Omega Man" up to this point, there are a few of those coins pictured in the book.

If only the grading service I use would return coins telling you what makes it a counterfeit like the book shows you.

I rated it at 4 starts because I think there should be more than the 200 pictures. Also, more info on the "Omega Man" and other history of counterfeiting would be nice to have. When was the first "Omega Man" coin discovered? ... Read more

*** A ForexTutor.us Special Report ***

Is foreign exchange trading a true get rich quick scheme? Foreign exchange trading, or Forex, is a real opportunity to get extremely wealthy in a very short amount of time. How?

The key is leverage.

Some Forex brokers allow you a leverage ratio of 200:1. That is the equivalent of investing $1,000 into a $200,000 asset, and an asset that you could turn around and trade within seconds for a quick profit if done correctly!

Forex trading involves dealing in international currencies. Here, one can sell currency of one country to buy that of another. The trader deals in Foreign Exchange [Forex] at the most appropriate time to profit from the transaction. Good ability to forecast plays a vital role here. One may wonder how Forex trading can be such a lucrative earning opportunity since fluctuations in exchange is so little.

But remember, when done in big volumes, a minor change can mean a lot. There are many non-monetary advantages to it as well. Anyone who wants to deal in Forex can do so, since only the basic knowledge is required for it.

Product Description
First published in 1942, the Blue Book is the annual reference book that coin collectors across the country look to for the average prices that dealers will pay for their coins. The coin values listed within are compiled from data supplied from more than fifty contributors around the country, providing by far the most reliable information. Fully illustrated with detailed photographs of hundreds of actual-sized coins, this handbook contains mint records and prices paid by dealers for all U.S. coins from 1616 to the present time, including Colonials, Regular Issues, Commemoratives, Territorials, Gold, Proof Sets, and Mint Sets. It also includes basic coin collecting information such as how coins are produced, mints and mint marks, grading of coins, location of mint marks, preserving and cleaning coins, the history of mints, and detailed descriptions of all U.S. copper, nickel, silver and gold coins. ... 2-0 out of 5 stars Most collectors should go with the red book.
I bought this book looking for values to my coins when I realized it was dealer buying prices. Regular collectors should not own this book, and go for the Red Book. The Blue Book has little insight on the history of US coinage, and most clad coins (post-1964) are face value in MS65. But even the Red Book can be a bit misleading. The Coin Prices periodical, a bi-monthly, gives more insight on the prices of the best pieces. However, Red Books are the way to go for any collector.

1-0 out of 5 stars Good for Starting Fires With
I found this book to be one of the worst I've bought. The information is very inaccurate. Great for someone buying coinage but very poor for the seller, not a fair way of doing business. I feel that this book was writen by a seller for the porposes of cheating buyers. When a book is set out to the public as an official handbook the information should be accurate. I find the pricing indexes to be very low at best. I buy and sell as a hobby and these are not the prices I pay nor are they the prices I sell at. I figure on average the prices are 200-500% below what they should be. I feel this is a poorly researched book that should not be taken seriously, nor should it be used as a standard for your dealings. My sugestion don't buy it find another price guide. Yes I do own this book and would not sell it do to the facts that I have stated, this is my loss so don't let it be yours.

5-0 out of 5 stars An Essential Book for the U.S. Coin Collector

3-0 out of 5 stars It's OK, but there is at least one that I like better...
