Product Description
On the demand side, exporters and strategic planners focusing on prepared culture media for the development of micro-organisms in Denmark face a number of questions. Which countries are supplying prepared culture media for the development of micro-organisms to Denmark? How important is Denmark compared to others in terms of the entire global and regional market? How much do the imports of prepared culture media for the development of micro-organisms vary from one country of origin to another in Denmark? On the supply side, Denmark also exports prepared culture media for the development of micro-organisms. Which countries receive the most exports from Denmark? How are these exports concentrated across buyers? What is the value of these exports and which countries are the largest buyers?

This report was created for strategic planners, international marketing executives and import/export managers who are concerned with the market for prepared culture media for the development of micro-organisms in Denmark. With the globalization of this market, managers can no longer be contented with a local view. Nor can managers be contented with out-of-date statistics which appear several years after the fact. I have developed a methodology, based on macroeconomic and trade models, to estimate the market for prepared culture media for the development of micro-organisms for those countries serving Denmark via exports, or supplying from Denmark via imports. It does so for the current year based on a variety of key historical indicators and econometric models.

In what follows, Chapter 2 begins by summarizing where Denmark fits into the world market for imported and exported prepared culture media for the development of micro-organisms. The total level of imports and exports on a worldwide basis, and those for Denmark in particular, is estimated using a model which aggregates across over 150 key country markets and projects these to the ... Product Description
During the past two decades, a secondary movement has been sweeping across Europe and Australia, and is now taking root in East Asian countries, such as Japan and China. The source of this phenomenon is African-American, or "Black" gospel music. Each year, new gospel choirs are formed in many countries, attracting professional, amateur, and neophyte singers and musicians of all ages, and generating interest that often moves from churches into main-stream culture, and vice versa. A mere glance at some of the many Black gospel music websites begins to reveal the expanse of gospel music's global impact. When one considers the legion of choir and festival participants, concert-goers, gospel worship service attendees, and aficionados who have become involved with gospel music on some level, it becomes apparent that a significant cultural trend is taking place. While churches, which otherwise are sparsely attended during worship services fill up when gospel music is on the agenda, larger events, such as gospel festivals, are reputed for packing concert halls with up to a couple thousand audience participants. This places gospel music among one of the more marketable and popular music genres in all of Denmark, and likely positions it as the most viable alternative to classical music among religio-musical expressions. In a country with a population of only five million residents, the number of people amassing around this African-American Christian music form is thought-provoking. This book explores this new phenomenon. ... Read more

Product Description
Christiania is a so called 'Fristad', a self-ruling community situated on the edge of the centre of Copenhagen, the capital of Denmark. Developed during the student revolution and hippy movement, people started to squat in an abandoned military area in autumn 1971. The 34 hectare area is part of the last intact segment of the fortification ring that surrounded the former Copenhagen. This green and historically important site is highly sought-after real estate and is seen as a future investment goldmine. The ongoing work will be based on the premise that Christiania will continue to exist at this special location - because it is linked to it. The work is inspired by the major aspects that characterise Christiania: the development of a ?squatting culture? and the antagonism of a community that celebrates individualism through togetherness. In one way the work tries to establish ties between the different interest groups, in another it proposes a solution to the existing space problem in Christiania. The main theme is that of the nature of squatting. The structures - things - have the task to squat the area and the other way around they offer to be squatted. ... Read more

Description:
The starting point of this paper is an analysis of 66 Danish burials, which contain flint daggers and archery equipment. The paper examines whether this tradition should be seen as an indication of the presence of organised warriors in the Danish early Late Neolithic, or if it rather reflects some kind of general warrior status related to maleness. In a Danish perspective the archery burials are closely connected to the Bell Beaker Culture of northern Jutland, and the custom seems to originate in the European Bell Beaker Culture, where ranked societies and warrior institutions have been argued to exist. ... Description:
Danish creameries introduced with government support pasteurization of cream during the 1890s which necessitated use of starter cultures to replace the heat-killed indigenous cream micro-flora. The Danish creameries exported the majority of their butter to the UK market that preferred a rather bland flavor. The US creameries did not implement pasteurization of cream successfully at that time. The primary reason for this outcome was that butter made from pasteurized cream lacked flavor components preferred by the American market. The US creameries experimented, however, with starter cultures to improve butter flavor, though without adopting the current best practice as they used unpasteurized cream. This study shows that differences in consumer preferences for butter flavor had a deciding impact on the introduction of new technologies to the creamery industry. This result anticipate current debates on introduction and diffusion of new technologies in the food industry. ... Read more
