4-0 out of 5 stars Well satisfied
The book arrived in excellent condition and am well satisfied. Delivery a little slow but this may have been the fault of the international postal service.

5-0 out of 5 stars KEEP THIS BOOK IN PRINT!!!
This book has greatly helped my husband and myself to prevent gastric reflux. We use carrot juice (organic, and in moderation), DGL (De-Glycyrrhizinated Licorice) chewable tablets shortly before meals, Slippery-Elm throat lozenges, etc.

Others I know have also been helped greatly by this wonderful book!

We also use digestive enzymes, and pro-biotics (acidophilus/bifidus), etc.

It's amazing how much USEFUL information is packed into this small book, that is very readable, and I get no commission for saying this!!

My husband and I had Vocal Cord Dysfunction (VCD) attacks that were lessened by taking care of our sinus conditions, but we couldn't get the attacks to completely stop, until we addressed our gastric reflux, by using THIS BOOK'S IDEAS!!!

Gastric reflux is so often treated with acid blockers, that have dangerous side effects, such as not digesting protein and calcium, and not being able to absorb Vitamin B12, leading to nerve damage (peripheral neuropathies!!).

With the DGL, acid production is not stopped, but the cells are protected from the acid. See Dr. Murray's book for details!

Sincerely,
A Concerned lady ... Read more

The third part examines numerous digestive conditions from infancy to adolescence and from mouth to bowel-including food sensitivities/alergies; leaky gut syndrome; colic, teething, and spiting up; gastroesophageal reflux/hiatal hernia; Hirschsprung's disease; celiac disease; ulcerative colitis; and Crohn's disease. The fourth part discusses and offers natural supportive and healing options for digestive and other issues associated with a myriad of medical problems including arthritis, asthma, attention deficit disorder, autism, cystic fibrosis, diabetes, Down syndrome, influenza, migraine, and more. 5-0 out of 5 stars Digestive Wellness for Children
Awesome book. I highly recommend it for the healthy as well as those who are having struggles.

5-0 out of 5 stars Lots of good basic information
Just as good for adult tummies as is for children's! Lot's of good basic information on how the gi tract works and how this can cause/affect other health conditions. It's funny because we spend alot of time on researching what kind of carseat to get or what type of educational activities are best for our child, yet we seem to not think twice about their gi tracts until it becomes a major issue. My child is recovering from autism thanks to lots of dietary research and the Specific Carb Diet(and help from all his therapists and teachers). This book seems to have a good overview of everything I've read. I'm recommending it to anyone I know who has gi trouble or autoimmune issues. Like any holistic type book it recommends all kinds of supplements, but I found that does not seem to take away from the book at all. ... Read more

Product Description
In a culture driven by advertising, convenience, and weight-loss gimmicks, our relationship with food has become sadly out-of touch. Yoga teacher Myra Lewin encourages us to slow down and cultivate a healthy relationship with what we put in our bodies. Drawing from the basic principles of Ayurveda and Yoga, Freedom in Your Relationship to Food is a simple and effective guide to enhancing your relationship with food and the process of eating. Including lists of foods to seek out or avoid, simple breathing and meditation exercises, and practical recipes, this book will help you overcome mental and physical obstacles to attain excellent health.
Food is no longer a source of joy for many people, but instead a source of stress and misery. "Freedom In Your Relationship with Food" is a guide for making food what it should be--a source of enjoyment and nourishment instead of what is killing us. Using the disciplines of Yoga and Ayurveda, Myra Lewin inspires readers to improve their relationship with food so that other aspects of their existence may flourish. An interesting examination of the spirituality of what runs our bodies, "Freedom in Your Relationship with Food" is a strong dual choice for spirituality and health collections. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Truly Transformative
The perspective and guidance that this book offers is unlike any food and eating approach that I have encountered before, and unlike any food and eating method I have tried, this actually works, so I welcome the new perspectives! It really goes deep and is quite transformative if you can be open enough to hear it. I spent an entire month eating by the principles in this book and i felt absolutely incredible. So peaceful and grounded and purely happy. I steadily dropped weight and felt confident and energized. The next month I decided I felt so good that I didn't need to follow Myra's principles. The result was that I felt bloated, ugly, sad, anxious, I had increased joint pain (especially in my knees) and ended up needing to stay home from work for 2 days because of illness. Needless to say, I am a true believer!! I'm learning that freedom isn't eating whatever you want, but feeling worthy of having the health and body that I deserve and making the right choices to get me there.

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent guide to transformation
This book offered me much more than I expected.I always thought I was healthy in my consumption choices, but I had no idea that my relationship with food was actually quite dysfunctional... I would never have even regarded myself as having a relationship with food!Myra Lewins book is amazing and has resulted in great, much needed change in my life.Encouraging me as a reader to do my best at making small changes, the material is presented in a way that resulted in the small changes building and building. As my understanding of my relations with food (when, why, and how I eat) unfolded, I was able to follow suggestions that I understood- the book clearly states the effects of eating in balanced ways for you as opposed to not.The ability of the book to help me understand the impact of my choices has led to lasting change- my physical body has changed, but most importantly as my body becomes healthier, stronger, and much better nourished, my whole quality of life has increased.Perhaps the greatest gift this book has given me is the insight that what we consume affects all areas of our lives, and that what, why, and how we consume is a huge teacher in our spiritual development. As we work with the lessons that our consumption has for each of us as individuals, we do gain great freedom.I've experienced this in my own life as strikingly greater clarity, ability to be present, increased vitality, and joy and appreciation not only of food, but of all life.I continue to work with my relationship with food, as I can now connect my consumption choices to all areas of my life- it is all connected and I am grateful to have crossed paths with this book.Making changes has been a challenge but very liberating and well worth it. My whole sense of well-being has been elevated beyond what I thought capable when first having picked up the book.Highly highly recommended!
