Extractions: Description: Abstract: Miscellaneous Jurisdictions in Padilla Bay, WA Watershed is a 1993 labelpoint, line, and polygon feature digital data file. The polygon features delineate areas of miscellaneous jurisdictions and Shoreline Management Plan designations within the Padilla Bay watershed boundaries. The government jurisdictions are 1=Padilla Research Reserve, 2=City of Burlington, 3=Port of Skagit County, 4=Lakes, 5=Bay View State Park, 6=Swinomish Indian Reservation, 7=Upland Bird Habitat Area. The Shoreline Management Master Plan designations are: 1=Rural, 2=Rural Residential, 3=Conservancy. This data set is one of many data layers created for the Padilla Bay watershed and this group of data layers make up one basin in a set of basin data layers for watersheds throughout Washington state. Purpose: The 1993 Padilla Bay Watershed GIS coverages were created by the Skagit County Planning Department and the Puget Sound River Basin Team for the Padilla Bay/Bay View Watershed Management Committee. The committee included representatives of local residents, government agencies, environmental groups, members of the agricultural community, timber industry, Native American tribes, and other affected parties. The mission of the Watershed Management Committee was to develop a Watershed Action Plan for the management of non-point source pollution in the Padilla Bay watershed as defined by the Washington State Administrative Code 400-12. Hard copy maps of this data are published in the Padilla Bay/Bay View Watershed Nonpoint Action Plan (see Citation Information for complete details).
