5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent Guide for Any Entrepreneur
THE ENTREPRENEUR'S SUCCESS KIT BY KALEIL ISAZA TUZMAN is A 5-Step Lesson Plan to Create and Grow Your Own Business. Written from the experience of an entrepreneur who himself has experience many successes and many failures, this business man tells how to reach your business dreams in a very unusual way.Unlike the typical MBA platform of making a business plan and setting the goal of making more and more money, Kaleil stresses getting to know yourself as the vital first step.By exploring your strengths and weaknesses with his guidance you have thorough knowledge of the tools you need to overcome your pitfalls and to complement your strengths.By taking his peaks and valleys tour you gain the confidence that prevents your pitfalls from destroying your business or you. With this boxed kit, Kaleil instructs the business person with very simple lessons which are on two CD's and augmented with a more in-depth guidebook. After assuming the progress pose and listening to your inner self under his pleasant voice as guidance, you are equipped to write in your workbook to prepare quick outlines for ultimately making a successful business plan which fits you and your dreams. His encouragement helps you see that true success is not measured in dollars but in satisfaction and fulfillment, without which any business becomes drudgery and is likely doomed to failure.I found all the principles and exercizes which Kaliel gears toward entrepreneurship to be so helpful that by substituting the word life instead of business or self instead of entrepreneur, this kit is great for gaining success in your whole life scope. I highly recommend this kit for anyone at any stage of life. It is simple enough and contains such profound wisdom it would be a great gift for a high school age youth to learn from in order to assure not only success but joy in life.

5-0 out of 5 stars This Kit is worth its weight in gold!
As an aspiring entrepreneur, small-business owner, and avid student of business, I found the Entrepreneur's Success Kit to be much more practical and relevant to my business and own development than any other literature on entrepreneurship (or general business/management for that matter) I've come across. It's my belief that the Kit is possibly the best how-to start-up business book ever!

Not only is its in-a-box format compelling and easy to use, Kaleil Tuzman's style- throughout each page- is intelligent, concise, and right to the point. Furthermore, he is able to effectively simplify a wide array of complex topics in a way that's not only understandable, but actionable as well.

Additionally, the visuals are very well designed. Meanwhile, the advisers cards provide a great reference tool covering everything from creativity, to planning, to motivation; as well as start-up related topics including product or service development, business planning, team development, financing and financial management, sales and marketing, and more.

Finally, the CD's included provide an interactive tool to delve into the inner side of entrepreneurship (or the foundation of all entrepreneurial success).

This is a truly remarkable and inspiring product. My only regret is not having this product a few years ago in the early-stages of my entrepreneurial development.

I've now added a sixth book to my all-time favorite business books, namely Built to Last, Pour Your Heart into It, the Tipping Point, the E-Myth Revisited, and The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People.

Enjoy!

5-0 out of 5 stars Philosophical anecdotes from an extraordinary person
After reading this book, it is clear to me that John Wooden is an extraordinary individual with much to learn from. He is almost 100 years old now and bit old school but he has plenty of great things to teach to anyone.

For one, he himself was an extraordinary basketball player. He won 3 high school player of the year awards from his sophomore to senior year. He also was a great college basketball player at Purdue. But it is his coaching career that outshines all others in his career.

Coach Wooden grew up in what seems to be a very disciplined environment. His father wrote instructions on how one should behave, think, and approach life and passed them to John Wooden, who in return, organized much of the principles passed down by his father into his famous pyramid of success.

Most people never write down the principles they should live by let alone organize them in a coherent logical manner with detailed philosophical reasons behind each of them. This book provides that for the reader.

I was somewhat surprised UCLA basketball teams under John Wooden only practiced 2 hours a day. But he made EVERY minute of that 2 hours count and even had a detailed plan for EVERY minute. Time was to be respected and not even a single minute was wasted. Being late to practice was a big no no under coach Wooden.

Another big surprise was that John Wooden never even mentioned winning or even beating the other team. John Wooden's definition of success was practicing, preparing, and playing at the highest level one is capable. He purposely told his players to not even look at the scoreboard as it distracted from them from performing at their highest level.

One anecdote of Coach Wooden's philosophy that made an impact on me is "Make each day your masterpiece". Wow...each day should be a masterpiece (not merely decent or satisfactory). That is how he practiced his team; he made each and everyone of his practice a masterpiece. That is the path of becoming a champion.

I am glad I read this book and I am glad Coach Wooden is willing to share his well thought out and proven approach to life, success, and happiness. I have learned much from this book.

I particularly recommend this book to younger readers who are trying to find that compass in life.

5-0 out of 5 stars One of the best
I wish I would have had this book and its insights 30 years ago. Every coach and parent could benefit from reading it. John Wooden is one of a kind.

5-0 out of 5 stars Coach Wooden's Leadership Game Plan
I have read alot of John Wooden's books over the years. This is a great summary version with actionable items to work thru and implement within your life.I am so glad I bought this book.

5-0 out of 5 stars Coach Wooden
Coach Wooden once again inspires us to achieve the things that are within our grasp, yet seem somehow just out of reach. Whether John Wooden is on a basketball floor, in front of hundreds of students or writing on his philosophies, he astounds the witness with a calm knowledge and confidence of leadership in our own lives. The most astonishing thing about this particular book is this... no matter what situation we are in and no matter what type of relationships that we have....we can be the leader and positively inspire those around us with our thoughts, actions and beliefs.
That Coach Wooden turned 99 on this week only makes this book more amazing.
We ALL should be very grateful for this man and for his teachings... including this wonderful book.

5-0 out of 5 stars Fantastic book!
This is such a great book.It is simple, thought provoking, and applicable to just about every aspect of your life.Highly recommended for all ages and for all walks of life. ... Read more

A Lesson Plan in Retirement was written to give teachers, and all those participating in their states retirement plan, a solid and easy to read manual for understanding and planning for their own retirement.

We discuss the four most common retirement accounts used by teachers today. They include the 403(b) of TSA, the 457 Deferred Compensation account, the Traditional IRA and the Roth IRA. We discuss the benefits, advantages and limitations of each of these types of accounts. We also discuss State Retirement systems and Social Security giving you a solid understanding of each potential source of retirement income.

A Lesson Plan in Retirement discusses some basics on investing including some useful strategies and concepts. These include Dollar Cost Averaging and asset allocation Time Value of Money and others. Don't be fooled though, this is not another book on investing, it is very specific in covering the issues facing teachers today.

Finally we give you a format to put it all together. If you are a do it yourself type you can create a basic retirement plan on your own. If you prefer to delegate the work to a financial planner the putting it all together will create a wonderful starting point for your relationship with your advisor. The book provides helpful tips on creating a retirement budget then compares that to your anticipated sourcs of income. Finally, you can determine just how much you will need to save to meet your retirement goals. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars every home needs this book
James H. Bishopp was disturbed by the fact that it was difficult to find help for the retiring public. To combat his frustration he formed his own financial service and he's written a book; A Lesson Plan In Retirement.

Aimed mainly at the vast pool of government employees (including teachers, professors, public safety and State workers) across the country, this book is the best collective source of information that I've ever seen.Anyone planning to live long enough to retire, need to read this book and begin planning now, no matter what age you are.

Mr. Bishopp addresses every aspect of savings and income growth as well as pension options, stock and bond purchases, deferred savings plans, and social security options. You may not think you need this information now, but remember that it takes time to sort out all the ins and outs, and to accumulate the funds and assets that you will need to live comfortably.

Yes, this book could be called a "dry" read, but one that I found interesting, helpful, and full of important information.Every home should have one.

Review by Wanda C. Keesey (author of Lost In The Mist, release date May, 2008)

4-0 out of 5 stars An excellent place to start your retirement planning, in no way a complete guide
I disagree with the title of the book, and as a matter of fact, the author does as well. There is no way such a thin book could ever come close to being a complete guide to retirement for any profession, much less all of the types listed in the title. A comment typical of that made by the author appears on page 88. "Find a financial advisor who has experience working with people like you."
That being said, this book is an excellent primer for people who are just beginning the process of planning for retirement. Bishopp gives a basic and sound overview of nearly all of the retirement fund options available for people in these professions. The complexity of the plans is overwhelming, it seems that every time an additional option for retirement planning is added, the level of complexity doubles. Moving funds from one account to another also seems to get more difficult with each passing fiscal year.
If you are in one of the professions listed in the title and are in the early stages of planning for your retirement, then this book is an excellent place to begin. However, it is only a starting point, so if you are beyond that, you will most likely find it of little value.

Product Description
Denis Collins believes that participatory management systems are inevitable in democratic societies because they are ethically superior to authoritarian management systems. Managers must begin to share decision making and economic outcomes with their employees if they want to obtain long-term efficiency and effectiveness in a competitive business environment. Changes in power relationships are bound to occur in the transitional period, Collins reports, and will challenge the flexibility of management.

Scanlon Plans were developed in the 1930s as a way to link improvements in productivity to employee wages. Popular because of the large amount of employee involvement in their design, Scanlon Plans are in place at 260 Fortune 1000 companies, as well as many smaller firms. To understand the considerable variation in the success of gainsharing plans and participatory management more generally, Collins studied six companies that used Scanlon Programs, explaining the nuts and bolts of each plan. He addresses the concerns of workers, managers, and unions when they were present, highlighting political games employees must address to enhance success. Collins then offers a new theory of gainsharing based on conflicts of interest at work. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Delving into the REALITIES of gainsharing.
The purposes of this study of six companies that use the Scanlon programs (a way to link improvements in productivity with pay) are to understand how they work and explore the concerns of employees, management and unions. Theresearch and discussion also highlight political games relating to sharingpower and economic gains. This book stands out from others we have reviewedon this subject because it is a truly in-depth exploration of the REALITIESof gainsharing. This is an insightful and informative work that is solidlybased on empirical findings. Read this book before you plunge intoimplementing a gainsharing program. Too many management books toss out sometrend data, cherry-pick a few happy examples, and then propose that youimplement the 'great idea.' Collins' book illustrates the vital importanceof careful research. If management is going to make informed decisionsabout approaches to motivating employees (and other organizational andhuman resource management initiatives), research of the type this book isbased upon, is desperately needed. Unfortunately, it is the quick-read, fadfostering, pop-management books that tend to get the spotlight. Includesreferences. Excellent-highly recommended. ... Read more

The Law of E. F. Hutton is about gaining respect as a leader. When Alan Greenspan speaks before Congress, everybody listens. When he prepares to make a statement on lending rates, the entire financial community stops what it is doing. Billy Graham gets a similar kind of respect because of his unquestionable integrity and lifetime of service. The Law of E. F. Hutton reveals itself in just about every kind of situation. In this study, you will find how a real leader holds the power, not just the position.
