Editorial Review

Product Description
This volume examines issues surrounding the allocation of allowances in the EU emissions trading scheme and the implications for Phase II of this hugely important program.

This special issue of Climate Policy covers the crucial issues concerning allocation, including assessments of the allocation plans proposed by EU member states and the competitive distortions allocation can create for the power and heat sector. The research ranges from detailed country-by-country comparisons to a more generic analysis which puts forward the case for harmonization. Empirical papers, looking at the expected scarcity of allowances in the market, and merging models for the power and non-power sector to project emissions of the covered sector and contrast these to the aggregate allocation volume, are complemented with two numerical simulations of trade and distributional effects, estimating the efficiency gains of the EU ETS in Phase I and assessing allocation and distributional effects in the RGGI context. Finally, an editorial summarizes the findings of these papers and examines how they have informed policy makers in the context of the larger debate. ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Golf?
I don't know why I thought this book would actually be about golf. It is more about "life lessons" which is great for the younger crowd, I'm sure. As for me, I've had all the life lessons I need for a lifetime so the book didn't work for me.

4-0 out of 5 stars A light and encouraging read
I really enjoyed this light read. What I really like is that it isn't a heavy motivator. There were no forceful attitudes like other motivational books I have read. It simply stated through an intelligent and humourousread that we can all learn values from others and then share our knowledgeand values to help people with finding their own paths in life. Well doneto the authors.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great book, especially for business people who golf.
A fun book with an interesting format.Scotty, the caddy, learns muchthat everyone needs to know. The golf stuff is accurate and the"lessons" are ones we all need to learn. This isn't quite selfhelp, but it helped me in several ways . . . I highly recommend it! ... Read more

From the supplier: The creation of the Funding and Educational Development Organization in 1975 spurred worker ownership in the US. The organization was tasked with establishing a more democratic work environment in which employee participation is maximized. Fifteen years after, worker ownership exhibited a distinct characteristic that enables it to overcome domination by business enterprises. It has allied with competent technical assistance providers and won the support of unified organizations.

3-0 out of 5 stars Glenco Accountong: Firat Year Course, student Edition
Purchased book from here only because it was available, was more expensive than other sites in the same condition. Plus paid for express shiping and everything arrived late. That's including with there little VIP card for next day delivery.

5-0 out of 5 stars Amazon is GREAT!
I am a high school business teacher and I received this book along with the various teacher editions. However, because our order was for only 3 student books, I was not given the student version of the chapter working papers. This made making lesson plans tedious because I needed to format sheets to match, so needless to say, I was NEVER so happy to see that Amazon had the student version! The book arrived in a timely fashion and my students and I are diligently working on accounting (although I think I was much happier to see the book than they were!)
