Extractions: 4H Shooting sports is back on track in Helena, MT, as of February 1997. Since the Helena school board took the small bore rifle range away last Fall, we've been without a place to shoot until just recently. The old range had been in the C. R. Andersen Middle School since the late '60s, but due to declining enrollment was converted at great expense into classrooms. Go figure. We're sharing the new facility as the guests of the Montana National Guard with the Helena Sharpshooters. Air rifle instruction and competition. Leaders are Steve Dempsey and Bob Worthy. We're training more. 2/97, 4H air rifle range. This is a storable range which the MT Army National Guard is good enough to host. Location is Fort Harrison, in Helena, MT. Construction by Steve and help from Ron Weiss of Helena Sharpshooters, and Russ Wattnem.
