Easy to Follow Dance Steps and Great Historical Review
I enjoyed reading this dance instruction manual.The traditional Jewish choreographies were fun to learn and I especially liked the overview of historical information on Israel.I believe that you cannot perform any world dance publicly if you don't have as much solid info on the cultural background and source of the dance as possible.A lack of knowledge concerning ethnic dance can devastate a dance program and is disrespectful to the culture.This is a manual for beginner students and I would recommend it to any of my sister dancers who are interested in learning the basics of Israeli dance.

Completely useless book
This is a mistitled, completely useless book.It has recipes, the Hebrew alphabet, some vague historical stuff, plus exactly three dances, poorly described.If you buy this book to learn Israeli folk dancing, you arewasting your money. ... Read more

Total waste of money
It is the first thing I have bought from Amazon, which upset me.This book is 20 A4 pieces of photocopied paper folded in half and stapled.I bought this version which cost more than the same product on Amazon without the CD.The CD that comes with this is a home made CD.

I already am proficient in Greek Dance and thought this would teach me something new.

Explaining the dances could be a little more detailed. Perhaps a slower tempo of each song with a cue as to when to start after the intoduction, ques for turning, etc. A dvd video of someone performing the dance would be an excellent additionto the package! LET'S DANCE is not an instruction manual about how to dance. It is rather a fairly successful and entertaining effort to tell the story of dance with special emphasis on social, ballroom and folk dancing. The text is filled with numerous photos and illustrations.
