Product Description
In The Meaning and Philosophy of Numbers, Leonard Bosman states that "numbers are symbols of the beginning and development of the universe, of a solar system, or a series of such, or, indeed, of any rhythmic movement. The terms with which we have to deal in considering the science of numbers are figures, symbols, ciphers, arithmetic, and mathematics."Displaying an impressive knowledge of linguistics, philosophers, and mystics,Bosman brings forth the root words, symbols, and ideas that express the numbers and explains each one's role in the movement of creation. This work will help readers understand the fundamental reason for numbers and "know exactly why any particular number used in the science of Numerology means what it is said to mean by the professors of the art who merely affirm, but never explain."The scope of Bosman's study goes beyond a useful application of Numerology to serve students of Kabbalah and divination. ... 4-0 out of 5 stars Magical indeed
Michele Morgan is one of my favorite authors.I just loved her Simple Wicca (Simple Wisdom Series), and she doesn't disappoint here. Her informal and encouraging prose urges the reader into the wonderful world of intuition. Her uncomplicated writing style makes you feel like you are sitting down at the kitchen table with a teacher who is also a friend.

Nowhere else have I ever read so succinctly about the chatter in your head, what she calls "The Committee," which is so distracting when trying to read.Ms. Morgan shows how to silence this "Committee," which will enable you to awaken the instinctual, intuitive nature that lies beyond. This book is greatly centered around intuition, which Ms. Morgan encourages us to use often, and shows us how to start. From this book, I took away a lot of new advice about using intuition.

Some of the most useful information I found here was how to look for actions, and also less subtle cues. For example, look for movement ("A man on horseback in the Six of Wands riding toward a castle in the Ten of Pentacles"); family dynamics ("Do the King and Queen have their backs to one another, or are they facing each other?"); body language ("In one layout, the Magician might be reaching out to assist the woman in the Nine of Swords; in another, he might appear as though he's handing her a nightmare"); and expression ("Sometimes the farmer in the Seven of Pentacles appears frustrated; other times, he seems to look upon his labors with satisfaction and pride").She also touches on energetic and intuitive placement, card combinations, and time lines.

Ms. Morgan provides descriptions for each card (she makes a point of not calling them definitions), and her advice for understanding each card takes more of a story-telling approach, which was refreshing.Unfortunately, I was not as pleased with the illustrations. While I love Rebecca Richards' interpretation of the majors (I thought they were brilliant), the minors, while unique, left me uninspired.I didn't see anything in the minors that would serve as an effective intuitive, visual prompt as to what the card actually is about (but maybe that's the point).

Overall, this magical little book is a great introduction to the use of intuition, which of course is the best way to read cards.Michele Morgan has successfully created much more than just a simple instruction book. The information and suggestions here would not overwhelm the beginner, and also have plenty of sage advice for the more experienced. It was a very enjoyable, informative read.

5-0 out of 5 stars Indeed a completely magical Tarot book...infused with a fairytale flavour and energy!
I had this book on my wishlist for ages! Always another book or deck appealed to me more. I somehow thought it wad perhaps just another of those filler workbook type books you see in regards to tarot intuition. Then I saw it for $2 and succumbed!

Why oh why did I ever wait so long?! This book is an amazing treasure, a sparkling gem of wit, wisdom, tenderness and knowledge. Michele writes in a personable and very engaging manner. I was completely enchanted and under her spell from the 1st sentence. Usually with books on Tarot (I have about a 100 or more!) I tend to jump around the book, skimming or choosing tidbits to read. With this truly magical tome though I read it cover to cover, I couldn't put it down.

Michele explains and describes the practice and art of intuition in such a way you finally "get" it and feel inspired and fired up! She weaves magic and casts a spell with her words, drawing you further into this fairytale word. She covers all the bases.

Her section on the card meanings is fantastic! Brilliant and poetic insights to each card. I am totally in love with the simply elegant yet deep drawings for each card by Rebecca. They really spark your intuition and your imagination starts going a mile a minute! I'd like to second the notion these would make an awesome and VERY readable, charming deck! I want MORE of her art!

In fact if it were a deck and book set, it'd be my #1 reccommendation to tarot beginners = ). This divinely magical book is now firmly set in my top 5 favourite books EVER about Tarot!

Thank you ever so much Michele Morgan for this gift and inspiration, it's changed how I see and use my cards!

You will in NO WAY be disappointed with this book. The faeries agree with me and are whispering to run and buy it! Best thing one could ever do in their Tarot studies.

3-0 out of 5 stars Not much substance...
Michele Morgan in her book, A Magical Course in Tarot, ISBN: 0-7394-2475-0, sets off to teach others how to read the tarot in an intuitive manner.

The book is broken down into three distinct parts:

Part One - Flesh and Bone basically covers the basics of tarot history, how to acquire the 'right' deck, how to do readings, and gives symbological associations.

Part Two - Heart and Soul covers meanings and possible interpretations of all 78 cards broken down by Arcana and then suit.

Part Three - Heaven and Earth covers the aspects of using tarot as a spiritual device and how to find a reliable psychic plus a little more filler.

I have to say, I was completely let down by this book....it is very basic and very cursory in the depth of information provided.Everything covered is pretty common sense and I found the writing style while easy to read a bit sophmoric.

I would recommend this book for novices and people interested in dabbling in the tarot, but this would be of little use to intermediate and advanced readers.

I'm glad I bought my copy used at a very good price, not something I would pay full price for.

5-0 out of 5 stars Truly Magical
I have been a professional Tarot reader for over sixteen years, and it is rare for me to read books on Tarot. While perusing a page on Amazon of Tarot books, I came across this one and felt instantly drawn to its title. When I received the book and started reading, I found myself enchanted from the first sentence.Ms. Morgan is an excellent writer, presenting her thoughts in a lovely and endearing way.But what I took away from this book was an even deeper appreciation of the power of intuition in Tarot reading and the truly sacred knowledge that the cards can highlight for us.Ms. Morgan's little book re-ignited in me the excitement for Tarot that I haven't felt since I first acquired a deck of cards ages ago. This book can definitely be read and used by anyone interested in Tarot, whether a seasoned practitioner or an absolute beginner.Thank you, Ms. Morgan, for this wonderful book!

5-0 out of 5 stars Trust your intuition
For 15 years Tarot was an absolute mystery to me, until somebody told me to stop reading books about tarot and start reading the cards. Michele Morgan is doing exactly the same, and lets me wish I would have read this book 15 years ago. With each step the author not simply how to begin reading the tarot with your own intuition, but also why her advices work. If I had only one sentence to explain this book, this one would it be: Michele Morgan changes every mystic dogma into true fairy magic! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Rulers of the Horoscope- a Treasure for any astrological library
I have been teaching astrology for about nine years now and have had the very darndest time explaining to my students how to use rulers of signs to help describe each sign and its house placement articulately - in plain English. This book does just that!It is required reading for any teacher and student.

5-0 out of 5 stars The Web of Rulerships
The intricate interweaving of planetary Rulerships is at the secret heart of every chart. Far from being just an 'old school' concern, this web of relationships is an essential starting point for any analysis. If you are checking your transits without this knowledge, you are missing everything! From the first chapter, 'Peeling the Onion', to the last, you will find your confidence growing as you clutch the tablets of Rulership Hierarchies. Study the indicating factors for addiction, androgyny, foibles and flights of fancy. Delineate career, love, family relationship and travel questions with confidence. If you have been avoiding learning the material presented in this book, delay no longer.Rich with relevant example charts of the famous, infamous, and everyday people, peppered with insights, and laden with clearly defined 'cookbook' style examples to aid you, this book is a gem. You'll want to keep it close at hand until you have absorbed all its secrets.

2-0 out of 5 stars Interesting but incomplete
This is a well-enough written book, mainly for intermediate astrologers and beyond. The content helps deepen a person's understanding of horoscope analysis beyond planets in houses and signs. However, due to editorial or author oversight, some of the sections are incomplete, and an inquiry to the author and editor have not been answered. It does expand on books such as the "Only Way" series which have this same kind of information in a more concise format, but still, one wishes that the art of editing were as rigorous as in former times.

4-0 out of 5 stars good introduction to rulerships
This is a useful and interesting book about rulerships. I find the delineations quite good, though sometimes too short and incomplete. I'm not sure if these delineations are based on massive research or whether they are more theoretically written down. Anyway if you want to know something about the importance of the final dispositor, receptions etc.. you should read the book because these items are very well explained in some short chapters. These chapters I find the best. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars A Lovely Astrological Deck, You'll Enjoy Having This!
I purchased this deck a couple of months ago. I admit that I wasn't sure what to expect. I love mandalas, I love tarot, I love astrology. What's not to love? Well, it turns out, for the most part, it is quite lovable.

Anyway...this deck is one that I really enjoyed right off the bat, even though I didn't use it exactly in the way it's intended (but that has more to do with my personality than anything.)

At the risk of rambling on and on I'd like to divide the deck's attributes into 'things I liked' and 'things that I didn't like or were confusing to me' to make this less complicated:

Things I Liked:

*I enjoyed the concept of an astrological deck. I have a few decks which utilize astrology and since I have an interest in astrology I find this a nice added layer of meaning.

*I love the ability read the cards as left, right, upright and reversed. I particularly liked the idea of cards representing either as originating from the self or outside of the self. This makes reading court cards SO much easier, which has been a struggle for me, despite reading for nearly twelve years with the tarot on a near-daily basis.

*Despite making it harder to shuffle in a traditional sense, I like the square shape and the clean, simple artwork.

*I like the fact that you can either delve deeply into the astrological symbolism or not, depending on how you're feeling that day.

*I like that this would be good for astrology novices or advanced astrology students, alike. I'm somewhere in the middle.

*I like the somewhat unexpected meanings of the cards, which add an interesting twist to the readings I've done with the cards.

Things I found somewhat challenging:

*The square shape, which was visually appealing, was hard to shuffle, but really it wasn't a big deal to me.

*The unusual astrological meanings are difficult to learn if you're accustomed to traditional tarot meanings (which I am) and I found myself constantly struggling not to apply the 'normal' tarot meanings...however...I did come up with a system of applying both, and it actually works really well! If you are not familiar with traditional tarot card meanings then you won't struggle with this at all.

*There's a bit more of a learning curve (again, see comment above about the meanings) but I do think it's worth it.

Overall I would say this deck is now in my top 5 favorite decks, and I own more than 30, and have owned more than that (I've given away quite a few.) Appreciating tarot decks is a very individual sport. Everyone has their own personal tastes in both artwork and descriptions. I think this is a very worthwhile deck that would be a great change of pace from the tried and true but sometimes boring Rider-Waite clone.

Upon final review, I've decided to give it a full five stars, even though this deck is not 'perfect' I think it fulfills its duties and even exceeds expectations. I don't demand perfection from my decks...just personality, knowledge and a good reading, which this deck provides in spades!

XOXO,
Hannah

5-0 out of 5 stars My Favorite Deck
Being a professional psychic I have used a great number of tarot decks in my time. This has been and still is my favorite deck. The symbology is inspiring, the artistry is wonderful and the details a reader can glean from each card is extensive. The accompanying book is informative and will help any beginner learn the basics. It's a well crafted deck.

5-0 out of 5 stars Mandala Astrological Tarot is beautiful and profound
The Mandala Astrological Tarot is a beautiful and profound tarot deck that bridges tarot wisdom and iconography and the traditions of astrology. Both disciplines resonate with each other in interesting ways. The square cards contain circular mandala images that resonate and carry the many traditions and cultures embedded in classical tarot: Egypt, Freemasonry, Medieval Europe, India, Rosicrucian and Golden Dawn magical societies. Enjoy the book and also the deck. ... Read more

Product Description
Astrology numbers among mankind`s oldest sciences. It played a prominent role not only in the advanced civilizations of antiquity but also in the cultural history of Europe. It contributed to the development of the natural sciences, primarily astronomy, physics and chemistry, was an integral element of philosophies and religions and influenced political decisions, some of which had substantial consequences. Kocku von Stuckrad masterfully interweaves the disparate aspects of this often neglected or gingerly approached field and provides a thorough synopsis of a central stream in the European history of science and ideas. Not least, this well organized and highly informative book will serve as a first-class introduction to systems of astrological interpretation. It includes a glossary which defines the most important concepts. A must for all who are interested in astrology today or in historical times, regardless of whether they are searching for relationships between the vault of heaven and the earth. In this first comprehensive history of astrology Kocku von Stuckrad describes how celestial science emerged in Mesopotamia and played a significant role in ancient Egypt. Over the course of antiquity, the Middle Ages and the Renaissance, knowledge of the course of planets and stars grew more sophisticated. The author examines the role of astrology in various philosophical systems and in major religions, and he discusses the new approaches astrology took in modern times after its legitimacy increasingly came under fire. ... About this Tarot Card Book:

If You're interested in Tarot cards,You're not alone.

Tarot cards have been in existence for well over 500 years.Over that span of centuries, millions of people have been fascinated by the cards and their power.

That really isn't surprising, is it?

The idea of using a simple tool like Tarot cards to provide others with helpful, meaningful guidance is extremely attractive.

The chance to develop your own skills--to tap into the unlimited power of your psyche and intuition--is incredibly enticing.

Who wouldn't want to join a centuries-old tradition like that shared by generations of Tarot readers?

You want to master the Tarot and that's perfectly reasonable. In fact, it's admirable. However, it can be very difficult.

That's not because the cards are difficult. It's because there is so many lies and so much misinformation about Tarot cards circulating...

* Many of the Tarot decks sold aren't well-designed for quality readings.
* Many of the recommended card layouts, or spreads, you read about on the Internet aren't part of the Tarot tradition and just don't make sense.
* Many of the most frequently repeated explanations of the cards' meanings are incomplete--of flat-out wrong.
* Many of the so-called Tarot experts fail to reveal critical, basic information necessary to master the cards and their power.

You CAN learn the cards. But you need the right information.

THE TRUTH ABOUT TAROT READINGSā€¦

Tarot card reading is more than slapping a few cards on the table and remembering what certain images "mean".

Real masters of the cards understand why they're laid out in certain patterns. They understand that every card can have a variety of meanings--based on multiple factors.

They realize that they must bring their own respect for the cards and their own intuition into play.

That's a far stretch from simply saying that a particular card has a certain meaning.

It may sound complicated.

But it's not.

In fact, it's incredibly easy when you understand the process.

It's natural.

That's because those who know the right way to handle Tarot cards find themselves working with their own deeply held intuitions and tapping their own wisdom. When done correctly, the cards become a tool--an extension of the reader.

Readings unfold on their own.And they provide the insights and information that have made the Tarot deck a popular subject of fascination for hundreds of years.
MASTERING TAROT READINGā€¦

Product Description
Clairvoyance means literally nothing more than "clear seeing," and it is a word which has been sorely misused, and even degraded so far as to be employed to describe the trickery of a mountebank in a variety show. For the purpose of this treatise we may, perhaps, define it as the power to see what is hidden from ordinary physical sight. Let me make two points clear before I begin. First, I am not writing for those who do not believe that there is such a thing as clairvoyance, nor am I seeking to convince those who are in doubt about the matter. Before a detailed explanation of clairvoyance can usefully be attempted, however, it will be necessary for us to devote a little time to some preliminary considerations, in order that we may have clearly in mind a few broad facts as to the different planes on which clairvoyant vision may be exercised, and the conditions which renders its exercise possible. ... 3-0 out of 5 stars pros and cons
Clairvoyance by C.W. Leadbeater is, from my standpoint, a very hard to locate book.At around $28.00, this copy is also quite expensive. On Amazon there are several books that come up when searching for this one, usually with yellow covers, that only include about 18 pages, which is basically sold one chapter at a time. This version of the book is complete. however, for the price, I was expecting a higher quality of printing and packaging. The text on the pages isn't even typeset, or a "fresh" version - it is more like a xeroxed manuscript, with crooked letters, blurs, and toner spots. The binding and cover are flimsy at best. I guess what's really important are the words, and I mean, it IS the actual text of the book in its entirety, but if you have any taste for packaging or collectability, this will leave you disappointed. Looks aren't everything, but a $28.00 xerox in a bland cover is not what I expected.

5-0 out of 5 stars Academic not Hokey!
One of the best and most credible accounts on the phenomena known as clairvoyance I have ever read.I wish I had discovered this author ten years ago!A very good read.

5-0 out of 5 stars Insight of the astral vision
It was one of the first books by C. W.Leadbeater I have read and I was truly inspired to read it further and further. As a nautral psychic, the author writes, in his natural way, about his own experiences in thephysical and astral plane while using the 'clear sight'. Moreover, it showsit is possible for mostly anyone to acquire this ability and also shows thewonderful advantages of having this so-called gift. Finally, this practicalyet complex book gives a few instructions which can be useful to peoplelike us who wish to develop and perhaps start seeing as clear as its authordoes. ... Read more

Product Description

There are different paths to future memory.

Author P.M.H. Atwater says the future memory allows people to "live" life in advance and remember the experience in detail when something triggers that memory.

Atwater says the unifying, and permanent, effect of that experience is a brain a "brain shift" which she believes "may be at the very core of existence itself." In Future Memory, Atwater shows that structural and chemical changes are occurring in our brains, changes indicative of higher evolutionary development.

The author, one of the foremost investigators of the near-death experience (NDE), experienced the future memory process firsthand following her own three NDEs. She shows how these "rehearsals" for future events differ from other modes of futuristic awareness such as clairvoyance, precognition, and deja vu.

Future Memory:

  • provides a series of steps to assist in developing future memory
explores new models of time, existence, and consciousness
  • presents an in-depth study of the brain shift and how it can be experienced
  • offers an extensive appendix, resource manual, and notes

Future Memory is an important step in understanding the relationship between human perception and reality.

2-0 out of 5 stars .
I dig the subject and I was rooting for this book but it is so horribly put together it becomes useless.

It's like unto those 'True Ghost Stories' books; all anecdotes and little substance.

5-0 out of 5 stars Future Memory
I found this book both informative and inspiring. Some people might not enjoy the scientific discussions that tend to get a little dry, but if you can get through that section it will be worth it.
At the beginning of the book the author describes her early years and the problems she had in school which mirrored my life. I was the same type of child who saw different things than others saw, I knew the future because I had future memory events and didn't know it until I read this book. I was call by my teachers the " child of the devel" because I was left handed, not to mention the episods of future memory I sometimes talked about because I forgot to keep it to myself. I grade 2 I got the strap allmost every week because I would not stop using my left hand. And my parents supported it. These things leave their mark on you.
I know the long road of recovery. P.M.H Atwater travelled that road. Either you become very bitter to life or you forgive everyone and move on. Phylis chose the second option and the book showes you what a good option it was.

2-0 out of 5 stars Bugger if I know
Bugger me.I gave up reading it half way through.I think you have to be someone who has actually had a near death experience to understand what its actually about. It starts out great and it tells you a few simple story's and you go "wow thats amazing",but then it drifts off into another planet.I skipped pages to find something I could gather but it made no difference.I just didn't understand what it was trying to say and I ended up really frustrated.I take my hat off to anyone who can understand it.

5-0 out of 5 stars Astounding Revelation!
Powerful Attitudes

This book was recommended by a friend of mine. She is an author and editor of books on quantum physics. This book delves into this most deeply psychological and esoteric phenomenon. I highly recommend it!

3-0 out of 5 stars A worthwhile but laborious read.
This was a slow book for me to trudge through, and I'm normally a fast reader. Trying to make sense of the author's concepts and assertions definitely slowed me down; it was often hard to tell if she was describing dream sequences or some manner of organic brain damage, or true genuine insights into the nature of reality. (Not that they're mutually exclusive, necessarily.) It should be recalled that everyone views reality through their own set of filters, and that's very much true here. There were certainly some concepts that rang true for me, and others that I found highly doubtful. Maybe that's the true value of this book - it will definitely push your boundaries, whether you agree with it or not. It's worth the read, and perhaps will be worth another read in a few years, but I can't imagine working my way through it again any time soon.

Just for the sake of accuracy I'll mention that there's precious little about the "future memory" phenomenon in this book, despite the title. The first few chapters go into it, and then it's forgotten in favor of a much more complex "big picture." ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Beautiful Colors
The Universal Waite Tarot Deck is beautifully printed. The colors are much more vivid than on the Rider Waite, and the backs are nicer (Black with gold star bursts, instead of blue plaid). My main gripe is the US Game systems Copyright printed on the front of the cards. It totally destroys the feel and magic of the cards.I have many other decks that do not have the obnoxious copyright statement printed on them.

1-0 out of 5 stars Not REALLY the Waite Tarot
This is not really the Waite Tarot. It is only based on the Waite Tarot.

Also, the cards have a slick feeling that I do not like.

If you know that these cards are not truly the Waite Tarot, maybe you will like them.I went by their name only, and so was disappointed. This should teach me to read the fine print.

5-0 out of 5 stars The best of the Waite decks
It is not surprising that, of all the Tarot deck designs, the Waite deck has been - and remains - the most popular.
Having used the Rider-Waite deck for many years, I was looking for a new deck, and did a bit of comparison of the various Waite decks available.
While partial to the Rider-Waite, I have always thought the pen & ink strokes to be a bit bold, and the colors a touch too bright, with detail lost therein.
The Albano-Waite deck is a recoloring which suffers the same aesthetic problems as the Rider-Waite, with little improvement.
The Original Rider-Waite deck is appealing, with colors often being a bit more subtle, but essentially no different than the Rider-Waite.
The Radiant Rider-Waite deck, redrawn and recolored, I found appealing in the use of gradient colors and shading, producing a dimensional effect. This rates it as currently my second favorite Rider-Waite.
But, the grand prize, in my opinion, goes to the Universal Rider-Waite deck. The line strokes are finer, and the colors, while tasteful and clear, and comparing well with the Rider-Waite, are more subdued, allowing details to be revealed. This deck is beautifully colored by Mary Hanson-Roberts, creator of the Hanson-Roberts deck, which is my wife's favorite deck and, in itself, a beautiful interpretation of the Rider-Waite.
It's hard to improve upon a classic, but the Universal Rider-Waite deck does just that, with a near-perfect balance of subtlety and brightness, color and detail.
I would recommend Rider-Waite over all other Tarot decks, and the Universal as the finest of the Rider-Waite decks.

5-0 out of 5 stars Tried and true.....

I wanted a set of cards that were something I could easily learn and understand. These cards are the Standard from what I have read and seen.Large, colorful, and a bit of history thrown in.

2-0 out of 5 stars What?
The cards are wonderful but the book is absolutely positively confusing.I had much better luck with a booklet that came with another set of cards I bought. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Classic Tarot
This is the classic Waite-Rider Tarot that I am most familiar with. Being the 'pocket edition' it is just slightly smaller than the poker deck sized cards most people are accustomed to. The deck comes with a small booklet which briefly explains the cards, and their use. Whether as: a collector's item, a conversation piece, or a divinitory tool, this deck would be well worth having. The price is very reasonable. I recommend it.

3-0 out of 5 stars Classic Golden Dawn era tarot
This is the classic tarot which students of Golden Dawn teachings enjoy using. This is a very popular deck with many people, although it's not my favorite. It's been around for over 100 years, and will stay with us, although the original tarot cards were developed much earlier and much more beautiful decks are available by so many contemporary artists these days. The old imagery seems contrived and stilted. Reading the flyer that comes with the cards helped me understand why I was frustrated with the images. Apparently the artwork was highly directed and the artist felt that she had been overworked and underpaid. From this comes the drudgery felt in the images.

The readings from this deck are predictable and honest, in a limited way, but very short-term and uninspired although well-intentioned. With an artist more interested in the subject matter, this deck would possibly give much better readings. As it is, the work is mostly a rudimentary graphic presentation of a more inspired author who apparently did not feel he knew how to draw. How this deck became popular probably has more to do with the scholarship and research behind it, rather than the graphic images.

All in all, it's not a bad deck. I simply believe that, as a graphic work, it's very over-rated. With more financial compensation and inclusion in the inspiration behind the images, instead of a director-servant relationship that seems to be expressed in this deck of cards, I wonder if this tarot would not only be historic and respected, it may have also been a great deck.

As it is, the deck is a respected relic. There are much more inspired tarot decks, which give much greater insight than this tired old text book of an exercise. RIP. ... Read more
