Product Description
Living a Raw vegan lifestyle does NOT require dehydrating, which is why Kristen Suzanne's EASY Raw Vegan recipe books--other than this one--rarely call for dehydrating.

But if you own a dehydrator, or if you are trying to decide whether or not to buy one, then this book is for you. There are SO many fun and interesting things you can do with dehydrating Raw foods, such as making breads, crackers, wraps, pancakes, granolas, plant leathers (fruit roll-ups, etc.), seasonings, and much more. You can also intensify flavors, add cooked-like textures to your Raw foods, and even serve warm dishes with the food's nutritional integrity totally intact!

This book is a thorough, comprehensive introduction to dehydrating for people who are curious about the subject. It's also a must-have for Raw food enthusiasts who want to experience the full range of experiences in the Raw food cuisine.

This Raw food vegan recipe book includes:

SPECIAL OFFER: 10% OFF EXCALIBUR DEHYDRATORS & ACCESSORIES

55 recipes, including:

5 Using Nuts & Seeds
12 Pancakes, Crackers, Breads & Wraps (Includes Kristen's famous Raw Maple Syrup for your pancakes!)

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent
Arrived promptly & in great condition. Am enjoying perusing the recipes & techniques of dehydrationg.

4-0 out of 5 stars Great for Beginning Vegans
A great place to start and will give you a good direction.Did not follow her advise on the Excalibur though.I think until you use one and decide its a lifetime commitment a Good4U is a wiser choice.

1-0 out of 5 stars Not worth it
there are very few recipes in here, most of which you can find another variety of in other cook books for raw food recipes, skip it

4-0 out of 5 stars One of the better dehydrator books
Fairly simple book, not overly long, but provides nice introduction to the multiple uses of a dehydrater. My only real complaints are that it gets a little too cutesy at times -- really, use of "yum" and "yummy" should be restrained to just once in a while, not every other page; and Kristen is just a little too all or nothing preachy in trying to convince readers to become vegan. I learned quite a bit from this book, and while I have cut way back on consumption of most animal based foods, there is still room for them in my diet. Given that, the information given was good and usable.I would recommend this to anyone just getting started in dehydrating.

3-0 out of 5 stars The recipes look good, but the format is disappointing
I bought two books in Kristen Suzanne's series and while the recipes look good, I have to agree with other reviewers who've pointed out how repetitive the series format is for these books. Almost the entire first half of each book is an introductory guide to the raw vegan lifestyle. Had these books been offered at half the price they are, this might have seemed an appropriate format for a series like this. But each one of these books is nearly as costly as other, more thorough books on preparing raw vegan food. Certainly once you've spent the money to buy a few of the books in this series, you should have something that amounts to more than an intro and the last few pages of each. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars A great gift for all ages
My husband and I purchased this book for our 23-year-old niece's wedding shower gift. Once we received it, we found it difficult to give it up as a gift, and now plan to purchase our own. When it was opened at the wedding shower, the guests from early 20s on up to grandmothers "oooed" and "awed" over it. Our urbanite niece loved it, and stated how much she likes going to farmers' markets held in the city to get her cooking ingredients, so this book would help make her cooking really fun. The book ties its recipes in with real sustainable farms, and among its photographs, you can see some of the actual ingredients growing on the vine. It brings a depth to cookbooks this era of local food and green living seems to be calling for. It's neat that cookbooks like this attach to deeper meanings that cross cultural and generational boundaries.

5-0 out of 5 stars Beautiful and Delicious
If you grow heirloom veggies, or you buy them at your local farmer's market, this is the cook book for you.The recipes are listed seasonally, making it easy to come up with the perfect dish no matter the time of year - a great selling point for people who subscribe to a CSA and don't know what to do with all the goodies in their subscription box!

I also think the personal stories of small farmers scattered throughout the book are a nice touch. We all need to start paying closer attention to where our food comes from; and, if you can't grow your own, getting to know a local farmer is the ideal way to start.

And the recipes: They are diverse and easy to follow, and many are accompanied by beautiful pictures. Great book!
