Excerpt from Chapter IV: "A group of Highlanders, containing people by the names of McDonald, McIntosh, McLeod and other Scottish names sailed from Inverness, Scotland for the Colony of Georgia on October 18, 1735, on a ship named "The Prince of Wales", commanded by Capt. George Dunbar. They arrived at the mouth of the Savannah River on January 1736. The Colony of Georgia had been founded by Gen. James Edward Oglethorpe on Febuary 12, 1733, not quite 3 years before the arrival of these Scottish Highlanders. One of the Highlanders was Alexander McDonald. Very well organized though I hoped for more technical approach
I found this book at the Oakland Cemetery in Atlanta this past weekend. Of several ghost book choices I chose this book because of the recent publishing. Most of the information is well addressed and contains many areas/sites I was unaware of. However, I was hoping the author would have taken a slightly more technical approach listing specific locations and directions to each site, more interviews, maps, tables, etc. Good effort overall though. ...
