The total level of imports and exports on a worldwide basis, and those for Jordan in particular, is estimated using a model which aggregates across over 150 key country markets and projects these to the current year. From there, each country represents a percent of the world market. This market is served from a number of competitive countries of origin. Based on both demand- and supply-side dynamics, market shares by country of origin are then calculated across each country market destination. These shares lead to a volume of import and export values for each country and are aggregated to regional and world totals. In doing so, we are able to obtain maximum likelihood estimates of both the value of each market and the share that Jordan is likely to receive this year. From these figures, rankings are calculated to allow managers to prioritize Jordan compared to other major country markets. Fabulous Insight Into Life In the Middle East!
This book is exceptionally well written. And my Mother and I both vied for it when we were reading it.It provides insight into the personal experience of a girl whose best friend is subsequently killed by her father for being seen with a non-Muslim guy. It is absolutely chilling what goes on in that part of the world.And this author brings to light an issue that people don't want to think about, but which is very real nonetheless.The Muslim world is in dire need of reform especially where its treatment of women is concerned.And this book provides a fascinating chapter towards the end of just how in depth the killing of women is in Middle Eastern culture.In my opinion, the author deserves an award for best writing.Phenomenal!

okay book
I don't care if the book is real or if the author stole money from someone or 'made up' this story. I care about how MEN treat WOMEN, and I have lived/worked in a number of islamic stronghold countries over the past 30 years. I'm in my 60s now. When I lived in Jordan no one (not even my employer) knew that I spoke the language. I was over 40 at the time. When a woman is over 40 islamic men treat them as 'token men', because women of that age or older are no longer considered 'sex objects'. The men will talk freely in front of the women. Cavaet: Since I am American, I only know how they talk in front of American women over 40. They did not know I understood what they were saying, not at all.

There are 'honor killings' in islamic countries. Moreover there are honor killings in the 'free world' too, by ISLAMIC transplant families.

All religions are designed by MEN to subjugate WOMEN. They are NOT 'inspired words of God' since God would not discriminate against one half of its creation, not according to what I believe. God is omniscient, omnipotent and not 'sexist' at all.

Islamic countries like Jordan, Saudi Arabia, etc. DO mistreat women. RICH women, maybe not, because they have protection and they have no reason to do anything but lead lives of indolence. POOR women (there being no middle class) are the ones who are enslaved, disdained, and murdered 'at will'. Are there women who are beloved by their men? Sure. Not everything or anyone is 100% evil. Even Hitler had a 'good' side (he didn't turn people into lampshades on his own, he had a LOT of help, so don't slam for saying he may have had some good in him. No one knows.)

That's all. Don't trust Islam to do any kind of 'good' for WOMEN. What it may do for MEN, who cares, not me.

HONOR LOST: an eye opener
HONOR LOST is a provocative and true account of an atrocious but accepted treatment of women who dare to step outside the bounds of a narrow, controlling Muslim patriarchy. It gives one something to think about as countries continue to acquiesse to the demands of people who share a similar world view and wish to impose their alien way of life on gullable and politically correct countries of the west.

A riveting story, well-written, revealing mores and traditions which we have no idea of in America.The author was very brave to reveal what goes on in her native land between family members. Hopefully, this will lead to some reforms in Jordan.
