What a delight
Koala, Koala is a wonderful book. My daughter loves reading it to me and we read it together quite often. Every time we have read this delightful story we always laugh so much. Her favorite character is Koala Koala and I love Wombat. What I really appreciate about this book is while it is a fun read, it introduced new words that will expand my daughter's already extensive vocabulary. My daughter, every time after we have finished the book always says, "Ooh I cannot wait for the next story. I applaud Mr. David Earl for being such a great children's book author. I also have to say wonderful job to the illustrator Mr. T. Kyle Gentry for an extraordinary job on the visual aspects of this book.

Excellent Read
This book is a great book that Ibought for my grandson, the main idea has some correlation with him.Koala Koala has to prove that he is not a bear not only to his teacher but to others who are questioning his identity. My grandson is 6 yrs old and loves this book, he has to read 10 minutes daily and he keeps picking the Koala Koala, Im not a bear, Im a koala book. He is dealing with the same thing, this book has definetely improved his confidence, we are just waiting for the next series as he has reads this book so much, he knows it by heart.

A Great Beginnng To A New Children"s Series
Koala Koala, I'm Not A Bear, I'm A Koala is a wonderful children's book with lots of fun characters, each with their own personalities.The story is about a Koala who struggles to prove to his new teacher that he is not a bear but a "Koala". The reader follows Koala's frustrations especially when his best friend begins to doubt him.

Super Cool Koala!!!!
I just wanted to say a few words about this book, I read this book to my daughter who thought it was really cool. It's been awhile since I've read the book to her and when I asked who was her favorite character she still recalls the female character in the purple dress. After checking the website [...] I informed her that the character name is Shugar, which made her giggle even more. We read the book together again and I realized that it provided an opportunity for my daughter to learn more than I had expected when she started to inquire about the different types of animals in the book. And so I began showing her the different types of animals along with fun facts about them, she was very excited about that. Great book for behavior issue
I initially bought this for my 6 yo who is struggling with a new baby in the house. I read it nightly and she seems to take the info better than a mommy talk. It also addresses the feeling that they arent loved because they get in so much trouble.

Great book!
I am an elementary school counselor and used this book for classroom guidance lessons in kindergarten and 1st grade.It's an adorable story that kids can relate to.They've all heard their parents asking them to be cooperative!I used this lesson to talk about why it's important to follow rules and to be responsible for your actions.The kids enjoyed the story and afterward we drew pictures to teach Charlie (the main character) how to be more cooperative.For educators looking for character education resources, this book also fits in with lessons about responsibility and even trustworthiness.Great book for parents and educators! ... Even those that aren't big Science Fiction fans will enjoy this
I'm a retired school teacher and not a big science fiction fan, but a friend of mine recommended this book, so I decided to read it. And I was very surprised by how much I enjoyed it.

It begins with a prologue briefly reviewing the history of physics and the field theories. I wasn't very familiar with these theories, so I was glad for the overview. It was very easy to understand.

The first chapter starts with a scientist on an Oprah-type talk show. I was really surprised at how well the author nailed everyone of the characters. The two old ladies on the couch sounded just like my aunts talking. Every character felt really unique and I found myself caring what happened to them.

The story takes a little while to build up, because there are a lot of characters to introduce and lot of exposition to get through, but once you do, the story gets so exciting and I found myself not being able to put it down. Even the fight scenes were exciting to read and easy to follow.

I was really surprised at the end. I think the author is planning a sequel, because he left it wide open.

This book is more about the consequences to a society of a new scientific discovery than it is a typical weird science fiction, alien abduction, weird creatures with names you can't pronounce story. I recommend it to anyone that likes books that make you think a little about the world around you.

Made me think and look at Science in a new way
I picked up this book after skimming thru the "Look Inside this book" feature, and the first chapter was so funny, I decided to pick up a copy.

Basically, there's this accountant who has made the greatest scientific discovery ever, and the real scientists are mad that they didn't find it first. They try to manipulate him, threaten him, and even send in thugs to destroy a printing press to shut him down. And they would succeed if not for the Wandering Koala, this guy who can't talk who shows up in time to help.

I was really impressed with the characters in this book. They seemed like real people. I actually found myself caring what happened to them. And the writing was so quick and witty. The author obviously spent a lot of time on how he put the words together, because there is a real rhythm to them. And the plot was really tight, yet the author dropped in these interesting vignettes every so often which really added to the mood. And the ending wasn't at all what I expected.

If you like books that make you think and that examine society and the reasons why they do what they do, you'll love this book. ... Read more

Amazing quality--everyone who sees my copy LOVES this book!
Koalas: Moving Portraits of Serenity is an impressive book and was obviously a labor of love by its editor, Joanne Ehrich. I am amazed each time I look through the extensive collection of superb photographs. The organization, excellent presentation, and informative text make this a captivating book that you will cherish. Once you get it, you probably won't be satisfied putting it in a bookshelf because it is such a beautiful book to display.

In America we have come to see the koala (commonly called a koala bear) as a cute, fluffy bear found in Australia. We see it as quintessentially Australian.

But the koala, technically speaking, is not a bear. As it has a pouch for its young it is technically of the marsupial family. Most marsupials are found in Australia, a good number in South America, and the Virginia opossum the only marsupial found in North America. Usually we think of kangaroos, another Australian animal, when we think of marsupials.

The koala also seems to be a laid-back, relaxed animal. It photographs well because it doesn't scare easily. Is this because the koala had no natural enemies? Of course it's trusting nature dooms them today-many Australians have not seen a koala in the wild.

This book is primarily a photo book featuring koalas. Brief text tells us about the koala, it's land, and it's habitat. There are three types of koalas in Australia and each is described with photos so the reader can tell the difference as they are pointed out in the book. In addition is a brief history of the koala and its habits. The enigma that is the koala is even found among the aborigines in Australia. The myths of the aborigines is filled with koala references-I imagine if these stories were gathered in a book you would have a "koala coda." Since koalas rarely drink any water at all, aboriginal folklore suggested that koalas have a knack for stealing water.

The book is interesting because it talks about interesting things. Koalas themselves are interesting to me. Koalas live in Australia.They sleep and eatin Eucalyptus trees. Koala means �one who doesn�t drink.� Baby koalas are very small when they are born. Did you know koalas are marsupials?Over two million koalas are being hunted.
They are now protected.

Very informative, contains a lot of very good photos
In general it's a very good book. Unfortunately there's a statement on p. 40 which is in my opinion definitely wrong:"The koalas are no longer an endangered species". Even better than the first issue
It's been over a year since the first issue of this story, Wandering Koala versus the Scientific Method, Part 1, came out. While the novelization was incredible, The Scientific Method (a Wandering Koala tale), there was one chapter I really wanted to see as a comic, and this issue adapted that chapter!

The author has really grown over the last year. The writing is much sharper, and the art is much more fluid and solid. The characters have better anatomy and more lifelike poses. The storytelling is so good, many pages have no words. And the colors are even more beautiful if such a thing is possible. And the price tag, $1.50, is incredible! Most ecomics are $1.99.

I highly recommend this to anyone who loves comics, science fiction, pulp fiction, or brilliant sequential art. ... Read more

A choice pick of science fiction, highly recommended
Never underestimate the selfishness of man. "The Scientific Method" tells the story of Brent Jakes, a man who has uncovered the Unified Field Theory, a major scientific breakthrough that can change the world as we know it. Despite the overwhelming goodness the discovery can bring, Jakes is pitted against the greed of three people who don't see this discovery as profitable today. But one unnamed individual has progressive minded intentions. "The Scientific Method" is a choice pick of science fiction, highly recommended.
