3-0 out of 5 stars Contract Book
I know I was buying the book on the cheap.Unfortunately, the binding on the book has already come loose and the pages are falling out. I realize that this is more a reflection on the publisher as opposed to the seller.

4-0 out of 5 stars A solid, basic textbook for law students
Though the book would not take an experienced lawyer very far (the full title makes it clear that it is for students), it would be excellent for law students. I would recommend it for an introductory course on legal drafting. It covers the basics in a brief and readable way, and includes chapters on process, language, ambiguities, definitions, contract interpretation, and computer-assisted drafting.

Other texts provide more coverage and greater depth, but this book has the virtue of being short. The main text is 105 pages, and the exercises add 50 more. ... Read more

Product Description

Critical yet accessible, this book provides an overview of the current debates about the ‘Europeanization’ of contract law. Charting the extent to which English contract law has been subject to this activity, it is the ideal volume for readers unfamiliar with the subject who wish to understand the main issues quickly.

It examines a range of key developments, including:

  • a string of directives adopted by the European Union that touch on various aspects of consumer law
  • recent plans for a European Common Frame of Reference on European Contract Law.

Bringing together advanced legal scholarship, critically examining key developments in the field and considering the arguments for and against greater convergence in the area of contract law, this is an excellent read for postgraduate students studying contract and/or European law.

The rapid developments in government contract law of the late 1990s and early 2000s have necessitated a new edition of this casebook, which offers the first contemporary one-volume casebook for a Government Contracts course. The casebook makes government contract law accessible to readers of all backgrounds, from second-year law students who have taken only basic contract law, to commercial lawyers and non-lawyer government contract professionals seeking a broad, legally-focused introduction to the field. While all the traditional areas of interest receive coverage, the book emphasizes cases from increasingly important areas such as high technology, health care, commercial products, and state needs. Product Description
This contracts casebook includes introductions that quickly orient students within unfamiliar territories. Cases present both the doctrine applied and, in some instances, the shortcomings of that doctrine. The authors express their disagreement about basic issues, so that students can experience the range of possible in modern contract law. To save time, the authors avoid extensive citation of academic scholarship except as it pertains to the cases being studied. Certain traditional subjects such as offer and acceptance and consideration are reduced to the bare minimum, where more pivotal subjects such as form contracts, arbitration clauses, and the modern concept of unconscionability are considered at length. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Very thorough and law student friendly!
This casebook is quite possibly my favorite casebook. Contracts can sometimes be a dry topic but the authors make it entertaining and easy to understand somehow. I find myself laughing at unexpected times while reading my daily contracts assignment. I really commend the authors for doing such a great job!

5-0 out of 5 stars A great contracts book that is helpful and enjoyable to read
Beyond the very helpful and well written cases selected, the authors speak to the reader directly which adds humor and a broader level of understanding to current state of contracts because often the authors disagree with one another. Three important aspects make this case book great, 1, The book begins with consideration issues very early on, 2 the authors notes are informative on current contracts controversies and they write about it with humor. 3, the authors notes also attempt to flush out understanding of each case and include a helpful problem that supports this attempt. ...
