As the search goes on, Glarney thinks and fights his way through a gritty, inner-city environment. As they close in on the location of the mysterious scroll, Glarney comes to realize that his client will kill Glarney once the scroll has been obtained and Glarney is no longer needed.

Since his client knows where Glarney lives, Glarney has no choice but to lead the religious figure to the scroll. He and his client unsuccessfully try to steal the scroll from the temple where it is hidden. Glarney tries to escape but is caught and has to then kill his client in a fight of legend. Glarney not only kills his client in self defence, in the process, he eats the client's life force. He then thinks to just live out his life in a little bit of comfort. Product Description
Shortly after his graduation from high school in the 1960's, Jason Grego rejects offers of work in the family business.  He is ambitious, and wants to pursue his own dreams and find his own destiny.  From early childhood he has been interested in science, and history, especially in time machines, and changing the history of mankind for the better.

He takes a few days off to visit his grandfather's cabin in the mountains.  One day while hiking on the mountain, he comes across a stranger.  They talk and decide to walk together.  After climbing half way up the mountain, they come across a cave, in which they find an elderly woman who is dying. She talks with them for a while, and then motions for Jason to come closer to her.  She's holding a unique amulet in her hands which she gives to Jason, telling him he would realize his destiny if he wears the amulet.  Then to Jason's amazement, both the old woman, and the stranger fades away and disappears.

On one of his journeys, his boat capsizes and he discovers Atlantis. Following his visit to Atlantis, Jason finds himself treading water to save his own life.  He is seen by a passing ship and picked up by its crew.  To his amazement, the crew is made up of famous men in history.  He sees George Washington, and Abraham Lincoln, but because he is exhausted, he collapses.  When he comes to, he finds himself in sickbay with Frederick Douglass, a well-known abolitionist, by his side.  They talk every day, until Jason is strong enough to get up, and take on his own daily duties.  Jason enjoys listening and talking about true historic events.

All of the ship's crew members are anxious to give Jason advice on how to change events in history.  They also hate the wars and violence of their time, and wish they could have changed it.  Later, he is taken to the inner part of the great ship.  There he finds a long hall of doors.  Each door has a small symbol that represented some portion of history.

In his travels, Jason finds danger, excitement, love, and fulfillment all rolled up in one. He eventually finds peaceful solutions to all the doors of history.  He changes history from war and violence to peace and tranquility, before he is returned safely to his home and family.

Product Description
"I was hoping my mother wouldn't make me wear it just to be polite to Great Aunt Mabel. The bracelet was big and awkward, made of a heavy wood that was dull red naturally. It was carved with giant faces painted in great detail. It looked positively grotesque — and very old.

"On the top was carved the face of a girl. She had a pale complexion and long, silvery-blond hair down over her shoulders. A scar marred her swan-like neck. There was something strange about her eyes besides the pale violet color, something in the lower corners. Her lips were blood red. Something pointed was pressing against her lower lip.

"On the bottom of the bracelet was the face of a young man with curly dark hair down to his shoulders, big haunting dark eyes, and an even paler complexion. A broad red scar gashed his neck. There was something strange about his pale violent eyes, too, something in the lower corner that looked like the beginnings of another eyelid. Something too small to make out on the wood carving protruded from his mouth.

"In the middle of the bracelet a pure ink black whale with bright red eyes stared out at me. His mouth was open. His tail slammed down against the gray, frothy waves that were even painted on the wooden carving." ... Read more

After the storm of the century passes, survivors along the coast usually have a tale to tell; but Seaside’s elite aren’t talking. Christy and her misfit gang stumble upon the reason why as a sinister supernatural sea legend involving marauding fiendish mermen unfolds around them.
Local author Beatrice LaRoche and her illustrator ol’ Mr. Gepford seem to have an authoritative knowledge of the esoteric subject the kids are digging into, but the odd harpoon marks on their arms put them in league with the “Harpies” group the children distrust. Unless the gang can convince the right folks that the “time of reckoning” forewarned by the eccentric old artist exists outside his imagination, their community could go under without a fight.
Ved-ava’s Curse is a suspense/adventure set in Seaside and throughout Clatsop County to include Fort Stevens. The fiction novel, for young adults and older, is marked with humor, conspiracy, and adventure challenging each of us to examine our own values along with the limits of our imagination in day to day life. ... Product Description
Is the emerging church movement just another passing fad, a more contemporary approach to church, or a bunch of disillusioned young people looking for answers? In fact, it is actually much broader and is influencing Christianity to a significant degree. Grounded in a centuries-old mystical approach, this movement is powerful, yet highly deceptive, and it draws its energy from practices and experiences that are foreign to traditional evangelical Christianity. The path that the emerging church is taking is leading right into the arms of Roman Catholicism and ultimately to an interfaith perspective that has prophetically profound ramifications.

It is the second semester of her senior year in high school. Denise Manning has finally arrived — and in a big way, too. She's landed the most popular guy in the senior class as her boyfriend. Chad is a date to die for — tall, blond, slim, and downright sexy. He's the class president and the captain of the basketball team. He's her ticket to all the parties of the really “in" crowd at Beachview High.

He's the first real catch that Denise has snagged all by herself. Up until now her life has been rigidly controlled by her famous parents who dictate what she can do and who she can see. They are Teresa Manning, columnist for The Virginian Pilot, and, Chuck Manning, local disc jockey for KTT radio. So she doesn't pay any attention when her parents tell her that they don't approve of Chad.

Denise is so up about Chad that she doesn't pay much attention to an annoying dream she's been having. She keeps seeing herself standing in the display area outside the library at school. She's attached to a pedestal. She can't move. Everyone thinks she's an exhibit. Everyone goes home at night and leaves her there — trapped inside a body as rigid as a wooden statue. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Time to wake up to our True Selves
Beloved and precious ones from all walks of life;
This review is from my heart to your hearts, from one who has been, seen, heard and experienced all you've lived or gone through and still trying and learning to make sense of a lot of things. . .My dearest ones it's time
to take responsibility for our action,time to take charge of our lives,time to take charge of our physical state,mental state,emotional state and of our consciousness being and world.We are not victims or the misfortune ones;
Life is about choices. With each choice you make, you set in motion or call into action different set of experiences.(A little reminder one becomes what one focuses on).Let me explain how us human or our mechanic system work;it starts with a thought follow by feeling follow by action.
So as a conscious being you need to focus on what you will like to see or experience in your consciousness being and world. From this perspective you can easily see or understand why you are where you are today;having this such or that such experience. There are no accident and you are no victim of your daily experience. To find the source of a current situation or problem it's simple go back to the begining.
The begining is that first thought that lead to the feeling of it and the feeling of it that called it into action or into your experience; if you do not like your current experience all you have to do is
to change your current way of thinking or change your focus. Beloveds for years or even eons of time we've tried to create heaven for ourselves and many of us have successfuly achieved some type of heaven which were nothing but temporary ones compare to what we truely and really are capable of as Sons and Daugthers of God.
Beloved one and greatly respected by all:it's time to return into the Harmonious whole;the body of the infinite all loving One.
It is time to return into living and acting in accordance with the law of love,of life,of peace,of joy,of harmony and of the light.
It is time to let go and let God; ( which God? ) the God in you,not a God outside of you as we've been taught by society for everything exist within one's self. . .What you see outside is only a mirror of what is inside. . . we've tried to do it ourselves from all angles. . .Believe me our way don't work,we all been there and we've done it all and we all know the results our own ways of doing things : unhappiness, broken hearted, sickness, deases, working for a living etc . . .
We got ourselves into this mess...Together we got to where we are today...Together,as one we can get ourselves out by letting go,by our willingness,by surrendering to the will, the wisdom, and the love of God.

Let's all of us say Father-Mother God not my will but your will be done.

This why i highly recommend this book. . .This book will teach and show you how to re-trace your foot point back to the Heart of Love,Freedom and Harmonious living.

Let the journey begin beloved ones,it should be fun and we are not alone.

3-0 out of 5 stars A good gift for people who are open to receive.
Read this book years ago and was telling one of my student about it. She then decided she would like a copy so I got her one as a gift. Some good stuff in it and some stuff that needs to be updated. I prefer the writings of Mark over Elisabeth.

5-0 out of 5 stars If you read just one book this season...
Mark and Elizabeth Clare Prophet have accomplished some excellent spiritual pioneering for mankind. What this particular volume includes is a) a gentle introductory to the spiritual realm, b) an honest ("prove this information for yourself") approach, and c) specific information about several worthwhile topics. These topics include: man's reason for being (Ascending in the Light of God, to become a permanent atom of Being in the Body of God--and why and how to proceed with due diligence); concepts of psychology from both a spiritual (Mind of God) and worldly (synthethic self, polarization tendencies) purview; origins and histories of various types of error/evil-doings on this planet (useful tie-ins to questions about "secret governments," currency manipulation, issues of freedom, education, and entertainment), and how to cleanse one's records/attachments re same; the techniques to travel out-of-the-body ("soul travel") to study with "Ascended Masters" (e.g., Enoch, Elijah, Christ Jesus, and Mother Mary) in fortresses or retreats of Light that they maintain and defend for earnest seekers; insightful comments on great and recent religious (Gautama Buddha, Mary Baker Eddy) and philosophers (Plotinus, Plato, Bergson); the introduction to and use of the "violet singing flame" (an aspect of the Soul and Spirit which is very helpful and precious); an appreciation of the Mindful use, or scientific application, of the spoken Word; and much more. In a phrase, this volume is a basic text for Reality 101, and many readers have enjoyed its humble, humorous, and holy presentation of truths for our age. "Always Victory!" is a subtext of this particular book, and, if nothing else, request your local public library to purchase a copy, and check it out...it will very likely prove worth owning a personal reference copy, and be a worthy present to interested friends as well.

5-0 out of 5 stars A foundational work of the new millennium.
"Freedom in the macrocosm through self-mastery in the microcosm" is what this teaching offers.Scientifically developing one's Consciousness--"God's awareness of Himself"-- wholly depends "upon the proper development of conscience."Accomplishing this "enthroning of the real image"--the "inner child" or "hidden man of the heart"--is this volume's thrust.
Toward this goal, information hitherto guarded as precious and for the specially qualified initiate has been lawfully placed upon the shelf where all may avail themselves of its precious wisdom. Those who outwardly remember sitting for sacred instruction at the feet of heavenly Saints in Schools of Light will often intuitively recognize what is being conveyed in this series.
Even those who are only mildly interested may benefit greatly from reading this volume.Answers to questions such as "why evil?", "what is God's plan (for me)?", "how may I unite with the Holy Spirit?", and "what must I do to attain/secure eternal Life/bliss?", are made plain. That by itself allows this book to be an essential one in the devotee's progress. And this book is a joy to read, as it conveys a clear sense of God's ultimate, ongoing, and immediate victory in our lives, and a precious sense of the dear, infinite and perfect Love that that One always holds for His Creation, each of whom is intended to become a unique and "permanent atom of Being" in the Body of God. ... Product Description
Three years have passed since Squid McCrae last saw her parents and the remote island where she grew up. She returns now at seventeen, a young woman with a daughter in tow. The visit, she knows, will be rough. Lizzie Island–paradise to some, a stifling prison to others–brings an onslaught of memories. It is the place of Squid’s idyllic childhood, where she and her brother, Alastair, blossomed into precocious adolescents. But Lizzie Island is also the place where Alastair died.

Now the past collides with the present as Squid’s homecoming unleashes bittersweet recollections, revelations, and accusations. But nothing is what it appears to be. No one possesses the complete truth, and no one is without blame.

From the Hardcover edition.Amazon.com Review
The thunder of the waves, the screams of seagulls, and the smell of torn kelp suffuse this quiet, introspective story of a young woman's return to her childhood home on an island off the west coast of Canada. The sea in all its moods makes a turbulent background for a story of four people closely tied together by their idyllic but claustrophobic life alone on Lizzie Island, and by the tangled strands of resentment, guilt, and love that bind them. Elizabeth, nicknamed Squid, has brought a load of bitter anger with her on this first visit back to Lizzie Island since she left two years ago after her daughter, Tatiana, was born. The child is the result of an encounter with a passing kayaker, who took advantage of Squid's youthful innocence. The visit is tense also for Squid's parents, Hannah and Murray, the meticulous lighthouse keeper. All three blame themselves and each other for the death, or possible suicide, of Squid's brother, Alastair, but are unable to confront their feelings.

Iain Lawrence makes a striking shift in this book from the swashbuckling action of his seagoing trilogy, The Wreckers, The Smugglers, and The Buccaneers, to a contemplative story only gradually revealed in bits and pieces through the memories of the four principals. The harsh but seductive beauty of the island and its limitation on their lives is subtly portrayed in this book that will be enjoyed by older girls who are willing to accept its thoughtful pace. 3-0 out of 5 stars The Lightkeeper's Daughter
This was a very strange book.I picked it up on a whim for some light reading and because I was attracted to the cover. It's considered a juvenile fiction book, but I've found some very entertaining and well written books in that section so I wouldn't consider it a reason to not read the book if you are an adult.

Seventeen year old Squid (real name Elizabeth) is on a boat with her three year old daughter Tatiana traveling to an island that was her home for thirteen years. She's very apprehensive about the trip and what her mother and father, Helen and Murray, will think about her daughter, and what they will think about her since they haven't seen each other for years.Just thinking about the island brings back terrible memories as her brother Alastair had died there shortly before she left to give birth to her daughter. When she lands, its hard to see her parents and remember all the pain that they and the island brought by keeping her and her brother isolated there.

When she can, she escapes to the smaller house on the island where her brother had lived and reads his journals. They are filled with pain and his longing to leave the island and bring back memories for her of when they were small and traveling around the waters and island together. She reads these notes in secret and hopes that her mother and father won't find out about this, but she shouldn't worry too much as they have found distraction in her daughter. All these painful memories make her want to leave though but for the first time her daughter seems to be thriving. She's not sure what the best route to take would be.

These characters make up a very confused family. At times its painful to watch them interact with each other. This however, serves to make them very human and I do think that they were well written in this case. One complaint I would have in characterization would be Squid's reactions to some things. At times she acts like a normal seventeen year old and can get huffy at nearly anything, but the majority of the time she acts very old and mature.Granted she had a child young and had to grow up fast but it didn't feel authentic to me.There was just a sense that her character really didn't act like a seventeen year old most of the time.

The writing was in the third person and was written very clearly.Lawrence did an excellent job of keeping his writing level at a point that wasn't too mature for the juvenile crowd, but not too immature to make them avoid the book thinking it was for younger children. It deals with a lot of weighty topics and to my opinion, would appeal to the moodiness that some teenagers have at that age. That being said there were some things I was disappointed in.The book was written in third person and jumps around from Alastair's journal, to bits of the past Squid remembers, and the present time in which she is visiting.Normally this wouldn't' be a problem but its very choppily done in this book.It definitely could have flowed much smoother between transitions of subjects and time.

I wasn't crazy about this book but then I had to remember that I'm not in the age group it was directed at.It has an overall sense of moodiness and angst and I can see it resonating with people who need someone to understand the loneliness and awkwardness they are going through. If it weren't for the hard readability I would probably rate this book fairly well, but as such it was just average to me.If I happen to see them I'll check out some of his other work's as Lawrence does seem to be a talented writer.Hopefully I'll enjoy them more than I did this one.

The Light Keepers Daughter

This book was strange but really interesting. At first I thought that the book was bad but as soon as I kept on reading, it started to get a lot better. The book has a lot of twisted and turns in it. Although squid loves her dad she blames him for everything that happens, like her brother dying. I like this book cause it was different. Not every book is about islands and light keepers. This girl that is the main character is so much like anything, or me, that I wish that I never had to go home like that. She is always having fun and running around. I really like it and would recommend this to anyone who likes fun fictional books. One thing I didn't like was how they would talk about how the past was, and then they would talk about the future bounce back and forth between the past and future and sometimes they would lose me. It talked about people in the third person a lot which was kind also of confusing.

4-0 out of 5 stars It's All Good
It was an amazing, beautiful story. The characters were so alive, the plot was emotional, and overall it was great. A lot of it made me want to cry. Sad, but great.

5-0 out of 5 stars A warmly recommended story of family differences
Recommended for older readers is Iain Lawrence's Lightkeeper's Daughter, a story of seventeen-year-old Squid, who returns home to her parents' isolated life on an island bringing with her a young daughter. Squid has a lot to face before she moves away from her parents: she resents them for their isolated life, blames them for her brother's untimely death, and seeks a closeness with them which might never be. Lightkeeper's Daughter is a warmly recommended story of family differences, strife, and the effects of an isolated environment on the family unit. ... Read more

Product Description
The young man lowered his voice, but sounded all the more intense for doing so. “Reverend,” he said solemnly, “if God didn’t do it, then it doesn’t make any logical sense.” “Oh, it makes perfect sense,” the reverend replied. “It makes perfect, horrible sense.” * * * The Reverend Thaddeus Dean has just retired as pastor of a small church at the foot of the Cascade Mountains. He is lonely, poor and desperately misses his wife who died years ago. Fortunately, he has a pastime. He solves murders that are so bizarre as to seem impossible. In each of the stories collected in this volume, Reverend Dean is challenged by a seemingly “impossible” crime. In one story, a pastor dies in front of his congregation when God appears in church and predicts his death. In another tale, three siblings are murdered - one on a sandy beach, one surrounded by wet paint and one in the middle of a mudflat - with no footprints near any of the bodies. In a third story, a woman is stabbed in her triple-locked, upper floor apartment. ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Not as great as I'd hoped
I really enjoy locked room and impossible crime stories. I believe the author has written that the genre is best served in the short story form, but I think authors like Carr were able to stretch the puzzle out effectively (my favorite mystery is Rim of the Pit by Hake Talbot, which contains a number of impossible situations.)

And while I suppose the short story is a good medium for this type of mystery, reading the Reverend Dean stories one after the other isn't the best method. Each one has to touch on Reverend Dean's living situation (his recent retirement, his deceased beloved wife, his dog) which got tiresome.

The puzzles themselves -- while suitably convoluted and complex and unbelievable considering most of them all occur in the same small town -- are satisfying if you let yourself be taken for the ride. What I really disliked was the religious undertones and psuedo-preaching. I think the publisher is a Christian book publisher, and I don't read mysteries to be annoyed by lectures about god.

So, puzzles: 4 stars, main character 3 stars, religious content 0 stars. I'll pass on future Rev Dean stories.

4-0 out of 5 stars Praise for Reverend Dean
Very well written selection of short mystery stories with an unconventional hero. Each story had its own special twist which made for a surprise ending.Great read for an airplane.

The Mysteries of Reverend Dean

5-0 out of 5 stars Rediscovering the Locked Room
There aren't very many of today's mystery authors willing to tackle the locked room/impossible crime genre. Hal White deserves a lot of credit for creating the Reverend Thaddeus Dean and giving him a half-dozen fairly presented and clued locked room crimes to unravel. Fans of John Dickson Carr will agree that the puzzles are fairly constructed and clearly presented to the reader - and White employs some masterful misdirection to send us off after red herrings while Reverend Dean works his way to the correct solution. These are excellent puzzle mysteries, very much in the classic tradition, and thoroughly enjoyable. I recommend it highly.

5-0 out of 5 stars A BRILLIANT COLLECTION
Hal White has produced an excellent book of impossible crime/locked room fiction. He could be the next John Dickson Carr, and that's saying a mouthful.

If you like knotty problems solved by an engaging amateur sleuth, THE MYSTERIES OF REVEREND DEAN is the book for you.The price is right -- in fact, considering the complexities of the plots, the price is low. It's well worth the cost.

(By the way, if you would like to read a more detailed summary of Hal's book, go over to the GADetection Wiki where another review is archived.)

5-0 out of 5 stars Filling a Hole
Hal White's book is exciting indeed! He has publically announced his intention of reviving an eclipsed genre, the impossible crime associated with John Dickson Carr and G K Chesterton among others. The Chesterton parallel is even stronger in that White has invented a series detective who, like Chesterton's Father Brown, is also a cleric. In fact the book is published by a Christian publishing house, though the Reverend Dean is retired and anyhow strangely unaffiliated; his theology is murky, but one hardly ever feels it intrusive.Dean solves cases in his little town in the Pacific Northwest, Dark Pine, two hours outside of Seattle, a setting that affords some nice lonesome chills.

Right now Thaddeus Dean is primarily a collection of quirks that don't really amount to an actual character.Said quirks include ownership of a monstrous St Bernard, "Puppadawg," missing his late wife Emma, gone now these three years, addiction to strong coffee, reading paperbacks in a special steam shower cabinet which swells up the books three times their size, parking at WalMart as far from the entrance as possible. He also explodes when obliged to get up earlier than 10:00 a.m.In short, he's cranky and humorless, and in future books might reap the benefit of fewer eccentricities, just like Ariadne Oliver's Sven Hjerson and his vegetarianism.Childless himself, Dean feels a paternal warmth towards a police detective, Mark Small; while a favorite niece, Susan, makes an early, puzzling appearance in the Dean saga.(Puzzling because she's set up to play a part in the stories that follow, yet she disappears and Dean never mentions her nor thinks of her again.)MURDER AT AN ISLAND MANSION shows Hal White's strengths and weaknesses in equal measure.Vicki Calais contacts Reverend Dean to express her horror that, one by one, everyone in her family is being slaughtered by impossible means--each one different. The set-ups are rich in atmosphere, the crimes themselves baffling, and Dean's deductions amazing yet fairly clued. And yet White has set himself up by limiting his suspects to only a handful (actually two) that we know who the killer is right away, particularly when the suspect is known to have mastered a particular field of activity back in high school.Giveaway!Dickson Carr was always doing that in his novels, where among a thousand other details one particular detail might go unnoticed (that is, if Tim was known to throw his voice at high school parties, you know Tim's the one responsible for the current murder and that somehow ventriloquism links into it) but in a short story, the jig's up as soon as the high school propensity is mentioned.

In MURDER ON THE FOURTH FLOOR, a demented wife takes a potshot at her husband from a fourth floor window--or did she? When the building is searched, she is nowhere to be found.Again the murderer has got to be exactly you would think, while White stumbles trying to reproduce the speech patterns of a young urban black witness--it's a painful page or two, but no real harm done.MURDER ON A CARIBBEAN CRUISE is like White's version of Agatha Christie's A CARIBBEAN MYSTERY, in which Miss Marple was sent as a charity gesture by her family to enjoy the hot sands and steel drums of a distant island. It's such a different atmosphere for Reverend Dean, far away from the preferred Northwest climate, and the crime he investigates seems particularly gruesome, with a touch of "Cabin B-14" to it as well.MURDER AT THE LORD'S TABLE may strike some as tasteless, particularly from a Christian publisher, for after you read the murder method you realize that for Hal White literally nothing IS sacred, but it's a good story nevertheless.(This is the one where the proofreading comically falls apart when Reverend Dean suffers "duel blows," instead of what I assume were supposed to be "dual blows.")In MURDER IN A SEALED LOFT, Mark Small once again calls upon the aged Reverend for assistance, in a case where a painter is found stabbed in her studio completely locked in from the inside! There are some great deductions in here involving frozen red blood cells and even I, far from a biologist, could understand and even anticipate, thanks to White's careful and fair presentation of the evidence. In MURDER AT THE FALL FESTIVAL, Reverend Dean confronts a bizarre murder apparently committed while a band of his helpers are preparing the annual Halloween party he founded way back when.George Weston is found inside a garage with only two entrances or exits--a walkway and the sort of door you always see in garages, big and massive and moving up and down.In this case Dean has to prove himself to Mark's boss, Detective Tom Michaels, one of the few men in Dark Pine who don't believe Dean walks on water (sic).Needless to say, Dean passes with flying colors, and then solves the case in an astounding series of deductions that will have you looking at your cigar case and pondering just how long and cylindrical and heat-bearing it is.This one has a solution that will make strong men literally blanch.THE MYSTERIES OF REVEREND DEAN is a marvelous debut, and I only hope that White considers putting Reverend Dean at the center of the action in a mystery novel next. ... 1-0 out of 5 stars new age drivel and heresy-zero stars
I read this book 25 years ago after getting sucked into Prophet's cult.the book is based on Mark's own personal view of the world and has nothing to do with reality. His wife, and co-conspirator, (and recently deceased) was no better.one author theorized that her seizure disorder caused dissociative states that made her think all these weird things were true. fortunately, the cult took a hit in the 80's with a failed scare mongering doomsday prediction and is a mere shadow of its former self.reading this book is like try to walk through quicksand backwards and up to your chest.obtuse, obscure, unverifiable. don't buy it.don't get it at the library. if you have a copy, recycle it with your phone book.

5-0 out of 5 stars Timely Information
So far, I'm only about 1/5 of the way through this book, but it's proving to be intruiging.I'm especially interested in the concept of the plot of fallen angels to "enslave" mankind through the creation of certain products that were apparently not created by the Elohim in "the beginning."This is a classic tale of Truth is Stranger than Fiction.I highly recommend this book for the advanced spiritual student who wants to be in charge of his or her acceleration on the path...for their truly is good and evil and knowledge is power. ... 1-0 out of 5 stars Just an opinion
I have read (and continue to read) many books on the whole 'New Age', including books about your higher self, the (Christ) power within,Karma, how thoughts create responses in the universal and so on. I have read the 'Lost Years of Jesus' as well.I think the 'Lost Years of Jesus' even if it cannot prove beyond a reasonable doubt that Jesus traveled in other parts of the world, it at least opens the possibility of that; therefore it opens the very intriguing and interesting possibility that in fact all religions have the same basic fundamentals. (That in its self is a huge and very interesting subject worth of investigation).
Anyway, the series of the Lost Teachings of Jesus, I think, are just very long rumblings going on and on. So far (I am still trying to finsh reading these books just because I never quit) I have not found ONE teaching that would get me to say "aha". The books just ramble on and on about how Jesus (and Christ) spirit is within, that we all are a drop of the ocean, a fragment of the Father and the universal creator, that the world we perceive as our reality is a mask, that disease is a cause of spiritual imbalance and so on and on it goes.
Most of the teachings Prophet refers to, at are not lost at all - they are right in the Bible - and he just quotes the Bible and St. Peter's writings but other than that I found nothing of real value in these books. As a matter of fact I almost stopped reading infuriated when Prophet suggests that cancer is a result of avarice and selfishness. So is that why young children get cancer? They are selfish and avar?.Give me a break! That karma may play a role, maybe - but Prophet is definitely in a subject he does not quite get here!A lot of what's going on, a lot of death and pain is about 'learning lessons' we as souls selected to learn.I hope and pray I have not selected (when I was a soul and choose to incarnate) to learn about loss.Read some books on spirit after life (read Michael Newton)
Life is a class-room. Life is about working on your spirit and energy to be closer to the Jesus like image (a perfect balance made of love, gentleness, forgiveness, understanding, non-judgmental, accepting of ALL humans, life is about developing powers to become healers and teachers and a lot more).
But none of this is clearly written in these so called 'lost teachings' books. Prophet mentions the secret Mysteries, teachings that Jesus spelled out any for a very select few (as Peter).Well, a lot of people who are very evolved in their spirituality, talk about the secret Mysteries and pretend the 'have it'.If Jesus considered that we as humans are not ready to receive the Mysteries then we maybe are not ready and trust me Prophet's 'lost teachings' books are not going to shed any light on that. Just take a second and look around you at the level we sank as human race - think of the black cloud of hate and violence we are sinking into more and more. We are at war and we kill each other in the name of 'Justice' and 'Religion'. Are we ready for Jesus' Mysteries?I don't think so!. Maybe a very few.
Find your own path, meditate, pray that peace, love and forgivenesscovers this planet and maybe read other books - the 'Lost Teaching of Jesus' are not gonna do it! May the spirit of God be with you in your quest.

4-0 out of 5 stars Lost History
History or popular fiction, what should we call it. All the teachings of Christ that we see in the bible were reported by disciples who were not as intelligent and spiritual as Christ was, so they might have written what they understood and might have left out things which they couldnt comprehend. Again, the Christian religion that we have today is greatly different from what Christ might or might not have wanted it to be. The influence of the Roman Catholic church, on the religion made Catholics belive is something, this inturn made Protestants believe in something else though both the sects are based on the same preachings. So what we have now is popular belief and not FACT. So when you read this book, read with an unbiased viewpoint and you will learn more. It is said that Christ learned and close to mastered the greatest yoga which invokes the GOD in a person. Christ's teachings are similar to the teachings in the Bhagavat Gita (spiritual Hindu text which existed much before Christ) and the teachings of Gautama Buddha(existed much before Christ). And coming to reincarnation, the proof which exists in the current day world is sufficient to enhance the belief of a believer in reincarnation. But a person who does not believe in reincarnation will remain a non believer no matter how much proof is provided.

1-0 out of 5 stars Based on dubious private revelations
The claim of Jesus trip to the Far East has been repudiated by all scholars who researched the subject. The spurious claims of Soviet journalist N. Notowitch have been checked and proofed false by Max Müller from Oxford University who at the beginning was sympathetic to the idea. There is no historical or archeological data supporting the claim, only revelations from demonic spirits pretenting to be Jesus or Mary, on which this book is based. ... Read more
