Extractions: How to download PDF files Highlights from the web page published by the Maryland State Department of Education: Learning outcomes in library media skills were identified to demonstrate that library media skills are an integral part of the Maryland School Performance Program as they support learning outcomes in mathematics, reading, writing/language usage, social studies, and science. The nine goals in the curricular framework were studied and consolidated to produce seven learning outcomes. Indicators in the curricular areas were identified and matched with an appropriate library media skill/attitude. These matches produced indicators that were fully integrated to describe activities that lead to the successful achievement of the learning outcomes in all disciplines and promote lifelong learning. Extractions: The Plan for 2002 - 2006 VISION The extraordinary technological developments of the last decade are spawning new rules of economic engagement. Fueled by worldwide information networks, the fundamentals of business are being transformed in every market, in every industry, in every nation. Those who understand how to create, manage, and leverage assets across boundary less organizations, using the tools of information technology and telecommunications, are the new barons of industry. Unprecedented market forces and organizational forms have emerged: new structures of competition and alliances, sources of value and methods of asset valuation, strategies for touching and retaining customers in global markets, new electronic channels and brokerage relationships, the preeminence of novel forms of intellectual capital, national and international economic policy and ethical dilemmas never encountered before, and emergent centers of global excellence without regard for countries' traditional economic power base. The rapidity and volatility of technical, knowledge, and market changes require leaders of global businesses that are highly adaptive and receptive to new and complex information. These accelerating changes also necessitate development of new theoretical models for understanding, evaluating, and affecting the efficient and fair practice of business in the "third industrial revolution."
