5-0 out of 5 stars Becoming a Stronger Christian Man
This is a quality book at a very good price. I encourage every man, any age, to read this daily devotional. My husband lost his and asked for a replacement, as it has helped him 'look' at situations differently, and how to address things properly, and in a Godly manner.

Highly recommend.

5-0 out of 5 stars A Great Daily Resource
This is a wonderful resource for those who have read the "Every Man" series. The book provides exerts from the various books along with Scripture references to keep you reminded day to day of the Bible's teachings on purity and relationships. Nice for light readers as the daily readings are about a half page each and also for heavy readers giving you the freedom to read other literature while still getting the help that keeps you on the right path. Leather cover is also very nice.

4-0 out of 5 stars The books are better.
This is a compilation of exerts from the book series.I think the actual books are great (and better than this).

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent daily encoragement for men
The Every Man series is awesome and this book is no exception. The excerpts from the other books are well-chosen and are varied both in which books they're taken from and in topic.Included with many of the excerpts are relevant Scripture passages or prayers.

Regarding the material aspect of the book, it is bound well in a soft leather(-like?) cover and includes an attached fabric bookmark. It also includes an index listing each topic and which days address them.

I enjoy reading this book and have found daily encouragement in my personal struggles, which is invaluable.I've even shared many of the excerpts with my wife.

5-0 out of 5 stars Makes a great gift

5-0 out of 5 stars Seven Seasons of the Man in the Mirror
Sharing his personal journey of finding the God who is, Morley has set an example for sons of men to follow. It is a life-long journey but joyful and meaningful if you know you are on the right track.

5-0 out of 5 stars Help for Navigating the Season's of a Man's Life
I found Morley's book to be exceptionally well written and full of substantive, easy-to-understand, and useful-for-living insight for men based on a solid Biblical foundation.

The book examines many practical and periodic aspects of how we tend to think about life and its many challenges.Morely offers an excellent framework for thinking about where God is leading you and how His plan works in your life. This is challenging and useful stuff. For example, have you ever found yourself pondering a career decision and reading "What Color is My Parachute" only to be left wondering what God's part is in all this? Morley points to some answers that may help. Morley has a nice way of introducing a few memorable phrases that helpf in applying these insights on a day-to-day basis such as, " there is a difference between a Good Idea and a God Idea", and "focusing on being used instead of being something".

The bottom line is that this is a highly practical book for Christian men or men investigating the virtues of a Christian life. It challenges us to let God become the center of our world-view rather than the many alternatives our culture offers in His place.

If you are a man who liked Warren's very popular "The Purpose Driven Life" and wanted some additional day-to-day application then this book may fit the bill.

To women I highly recommended this book as a gift to the men in your life and to checkout Morley's book for women and couples in his very successful "Man in the Mirror" Library.

5-0 out of 5 stars Men should read this book for guidance and advice

Nice packaging, and a great read even though it ventures off to a mega ministry it gives you insights on development and goals for a Men's ministry.

3-0 out of 5 stars Quick Review of Mens' Ministry
I was hesitant about purchasing this book because I suspected that it would written for the American (and most likely) evangical audience. I wasn't wrong at all. I can't see a lot of these suggestions going down well with the men at our church - that is, non American men with a leaning to anglo-catholic theology. Having said this, there are some good concepts and ideas that I can use in setting up our Mens' Group and I'll 'cherry pick' these. It would be good to get a hold of a book written for men who don't want religion (christianity) to be so prominant on the agenda....men who don't want to 'be saved' all of the time. I think there are a lot of us in
Australia, the UK and even in your country who would appreciate a more relaxed mens' environment with Christianity included as a more intellectual excercise, but not all of the time.

5-0 out of 5 stars Super for starting a men's ministry!
Our church wants to start a new kind of men's ministry and this book is the ticket! The first chapter covers how to get things off the ground and the last chapter is how to get men to serve each other--and they cover everything vital to a thriving men's ministry inbetween. From retreats and fun nights to being open and real with one another--something that doesn't come to easily to most men.Very helpful, practical, and fun to read.We can't wait to use these ideas to super-charge our new ministry to men!

Check out this book for mens' movie nights, also from Group Publishing:
Group's Dinner and a Movie: Adrenaline Rush: Flix for Guys

4-0 out of 5 stars Great Foundation and Ongoing Resource
I picked up this book for my husband, who is getting a Men's Ministry off the ground at our church.I had purchased Women's Ministry in the 21st Century when our Women's Ministry was getting started and found it rich with foundational ideas and tools for many aspects of the ministry. Our Men's Ministry is not officially called Men's Ministry, because they want to make it edgy...something "manly men" will want to be a part of.For this reason, when I brought home the book, my husband was a bit hesitant. He didn't necessarily want to fit the ministry into a book. But once he started looking at it, he said, "This is a really good book!"(I held my sarcastic reply.)Men's Ministry in the 21st Century will help anyone with the process of putting down a foundation and enhancing what you already have. And there is no need to read the book from cover to cover (although you might find yourself doing just that!).It's so well organized, you can simply look for that specific tool, study, or service idea you want. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Powerfully Written
Gordon's book is a powerfully written book (the latest edition includes a study guide)that I have read before and now am using with a small group of men. Wow!

3-0 out of 5 stars An Okay Book, But Not MacDonald's Best
"When Men Think Private Thoughts" by Gordon MacDonald focuses on different issues facing men:career, family, significance, character, sexuality, relationship with parents, etc.

While MacDonald has some insightful comments, I thought the book's flow was unstructured and meandered on many paths when addressing an issue like sexuality.Quite frankly, I sometimes had a problem trying to follow what the author was saying. It was as if he was trying to mix too much pop psychology with biblical wisdom.

To MacDonald's credit, I thought the book closed strongly in the last 3 chapters:The Formation of Character, The Meaning of Work, and The Significance of Legacy.

In summary, the book was okay. However, in my humble opinion, other titles such as "Renewing Your Spiritual Passion", "Ordering Your Private World", and "The Life God Blesses" are much better books.

5-0 out of 5 stars A Knock Out Punch that Captivate Men's Emotions
No other book will captivate you like this one. It's almost as if I'm reading another book called False Roads To Manhood. Gordon delves into the secret emotions of men and sheds light on a subject often misunderstood. Reading this book will shake your emotions as a man but much unwanted fruit will fall. I especially enjoyed the section dealing with constructed personalities. As I read each page, I found myself saying that's me. A good read for every man and woman who want to know and understand.

5-0 out of 5 stars Getting to know yourself from the inside out.
very good book for men.Answers alot of man questions when we think we are the only ones facing a certain challenge in our life.A must for every man who is searching for the inner him.

2-0 out of 5 stars Jerry's review of "When Men Think Private Thoughts"
'mwiley' was right on the money. This book was written by someone who was trained neither in the art of writing nor in the topic he was trying to teach to others. It's full of meandering, unstructured discussion of what the author thinks the truth to be and presenting it as fact. The only background material he sites as reference is the bible - no surveys, no clincal studies, no science. And some of it is obviously wrong. For instance, he claims the reason adult men like females breasts is because they enjoyed the nursing experience as infants.Easy to disprove several ways:
1) Many males were bottle-fed, but still enjoy breasts just the same.
2) Female infants are often breast-fed but, but as adults, do not have the same level of interest.
3) Adult males seek out other parts of the female anatomy in the same manner, but these have nothing to do with nursing.
4) Adults, in general, do not remember what it was like to be breast-fed.Subconscious memories you say?If that were the case, then adult males who were bottle fed would seek out Playtex baby bottles instead of breasts because most of the pleasures MacDonald sites associated with breast-feeding are also present with bottle-feeding.

That said, occasionally there are snippets of his opinions (note I've intentionally refrained from using the word 'information') which are useful in answering questions I've had about how widespread my thought patterns, as a man, are.But rather than forcing me to read through 200 pages, these could have been covered in about 10.

4-0 out of 5 stars Improved Interpersonal Relationships
The goal of this book is to enhance communication between people. Differences in communication styles and assumptions between genders is discussed throughout the book. Four categories of personality are presented; sanguine, choleric, melancholy, and phlegmatic. Combinations of these four major groups are also included. A section is devoted to introverts and extroverts. Additional topics under the four basic temperaments include: character, productivity, courage, emotions, sexuality, and mind. These subcategories are placed under the major four and explained as they relate to each one.

3-0 out of 5 stars One of Tim laHaye's better books
This is one of Tim LaHaye's better non-fiction efforts... as a professional in the field of personality (which Tim calls temperament) there are many better books available, but it is not bad.

Most of the info on personality factors is non-gender-specific, although the illustrations and applications used all relate to men, so remember that if you're looking for information on personality in general. It is quite accessible and understandable, and it would be good to see companion books about women's and kids' personalities - particularly kids, because understanding the personality of your children is an exceptional parenting tool. However, I think Tim is too busy churning out apocalyptic novels to worry about these at the moment!

5-0 out of 5 stars Dr. Lahaye, the unsung miracle man of "modern" psychology
This book made me throw all my past ideas of psychology aside. It changed my life! While simple to read, this book is both the unified field theory and the rosetta stone of the human personality. Totally amazed, I followedDr. Lahaye's simple wheel chart and went right to a categorized temperamenttype.Bulls eye! Using a daringly bold style my temperament category wastold of it's greatest weakness. Exposed, I saw myself as silly and notstrong. I now block that characteristic out of my interpersonalrelationships with men, and especially women. Like a similar best sellingauthor, Dr. Laura,Dr. Lahaye writes with scriptural emphasis probablygleaned from his Christian college President and professional familycounselingyears.

1-0 out of 5 stars This book is based on Christian religious bias.
This book sounded very interesting and useful at first. After I began reading, I found religious comments frequently. Men's personalities werecompared to men in the bible, for example. This may be what you want, butI was mislead. ... Read more

A good book to read. Lots of practical helps for everybody. The content is filled with suggestions to help people live a better life. A fulfilled life at home, in the community, at work, and in the church. Everybody should read this book.

4-0 out of 5 stars Startling Ideas About True Happiness
In this paradigm-busting book, Patrick Morley challenges your comfort zone with neglected biblical insights about happiness that many have been afraid to utter in this me-first generation.

You already know that money and stuff won't make you happy, don't you?Are you ready for some reality?"Ten Secrets for the Man in the Miror" offers life-changing insights about the nature of true happiness and how to attain it.

Concise and engaging, this book is perfect for the on-the-go man in search of a guiding purpose the rat rate can't begin to offer.

5-0 out of 5 stars great book !
I thought this was another great book from Pat Morley. He has a way ofhitting men where they need it most! This book is easy reading and isthought provoking. Now we have to put it into action!

5-0 out of 5 stars Wow!Thanks Pat Morley
I just reread the evaluation from the previous evaluator and in spite of the less than flattering review I obtained a copy.I am not sure that he and I were reading the same book! Pat Morley's excellent presentation ofthe issues that we men face are to say the least useful and helpful. Ifound the antidotal stories refreshing and concise to the 'secrets'discussed. It is by no means any 'new age philosophy' but is a book that iswell anchored in the belief that Jesus Christ is our Lord and Savior.Idid not find it to be a 'preachy-type' of book, but I found it to berefreshing and thought prevoking. The questions at the end of the chapterswere well thought out. I have just started reviewing one question and it iscausing me to deeply search God's word to find God's will, my responseswill certainly be helpful in my bible study group. With the antidotalstories used, the judicious use ofappropriate scriptures and the warmthof Morley that comes through the pages, I can warmly recommend this book toany Christian who is seeking to deepen his walk with his Lord.

5-0 out of 5 stars Ten Secrets for the Man in the Mirror
Ten Secrets is an encouragement. Men usually have a difficult time being transparent and open with their feelings and with their Christian Walk. This book guides you through ten thought provoking principals regardingyour walk. It is balanced instruction requiring you to look toward realunderstanding and an opportunity to apply it in your everday life.

Whatgood is "learning or knowledge" if you cannot trust in Him andapply your trust in your everyday life? It illustrates how men think, operate and function. Many of these "successes" are culturalsuccesses and once achieved seem to be hollow victories. What good aresuccesses if you are on "guard" worrying about the next one.Where or when will it come, how will I get there and will this onefail?

Ten Secrets guides you through the real meaning of happiness andsuccess. Ten Secrets helps you understand God's success. I am pleased thattrees are God's and he will supply all that are necessary to further HisWord.

Read, study, ponder, reflect, the Ten Secrets; and then see if truehappiness is not within your reach. ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars Pass on this one
This is one of those psuedo-religious books that trys to take self-help, weak-mindedness and God's will and then throw it all together in a brew.

I give it to the author that he is very straight forward and actually goes deep into the problems that plague men. But I didn't find it interesting and I wouldn't recommend it unless I had a really weak-minded friend.

5-0 out of 5 stars Must read.
I've read the "Every Woman's Battle" and that was an excellent book. I purchased this book for someone and believe that it is equally excellent based on the contents of the book.

5-0 out of 5 stars Worth Reading
I enjoyed this book.It has thought provoking questions at the end of the chapters that will test your mettle. The real question isn't how far you are willing to go; it is how real you are willing to be.If you are willing to be brutally honest this book will definitely challenge you. This is especially true if you are married as I found several of the chapters geared towards married men.It is still an excellent read, even for a single guy.

5-0 out of 5 stars Provocative and Challenging!!
Having had this book for some time now, I'd usually read a chapter a day, and other times, a few chapters. That's how it's set up, but the authors provide a great deal to think about, and if you read the whole book in one sitting or two, the reader might miss some important points.

As it is, Arterburn and company has delivered what I'd considered a potentially explosive encourager to a man's walk with Christ. With many chapters dealing with intimacy, marriage, our walk with Christ, and temptation in its many forms, the questions at the end of each chapter are designed to provoke more than thought.More like action!!

It's a fine book and highly recommended!!! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars You think about the content of this book long after reading it!
This is a must for the serious God-seeker.I bought it to understand the men in my life and was more than rewarded. The story visuals that he describes bring the concepts to life. Some of the adventures Marcus describes still have me laughing.I mentioned them to my brother and he could relate with his own stories.I have found myself sharing the stories and life concepts with family, friends, and coworkers.I bought several books to give out as God directs. -Debbie H.

5-0 out of 5 stars A woman liked this book too
Yes, this book is written by a man for men, but I'm a woman and I enjoyed it very much. Each of us, male and female, have a hunger to be known by others. We want people to know and like us as we really are, not by some preconceived notion, but for what we stand for.
Marcus Ryan asks how well do we know ourselves? A strange question at first glance, but think about it. How honest are we with ourselves about our motives, our beliefs, who we really are? The Bible says we can see the gnat in our brother's eye and can't see the two by four in our own. I don't know about you, but I'm better at spotting gnats than I am two by fours.
Every chapter in this book holds a wealth ofinformation. The writing style is engaging and entertaining. Ryan makes the observation that when we reach the end of our journey all we leave behind are the things that linger in the minds of the people who knews us. All of our hopes, our plans, are finished. I'm going to be a lot more careful of what I might leave behind. Restless Journey is a thought provoking road map that points the way to developing into the person we want to be. If the man in your life is a reader, he'll want this book. It's a good one.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Book!
I think this book can be one of the most signficant books for men. The author has taken a very refreshing and new view on our relationship with God, our work, and why we were put here on earth.

I highly recommend it.

4-0 out of 5 stars Great book for men
Marcus Ryan's Restless Journey: Every Man's Struggle for Significance discusses how when men feel lost, whether or not it's when their life is superb or dismal, it's because they're on a path defined by God. Men need to get in touch with who they are, what their strengths are, and to resist "appetites," such as lust, greed, alcohol, power or money.

Appetites get in the way of having a relationship with God. Life wasn't meant to be easy and having a bad day is all part of God's plan. Ryan's primary theme, secondary to having an established relationship with God, is about "being known." Being known means to connect with other people and to know them and have them know you--deeply and uniquely.

Scripture, comments about God and vignettes about Ryan's life abound, giving food for the soul. An example is, "God will not expose you. Instead he will cover you--fix the breach between you and him--and set you back on a course to a place where you are known."

Ryan writes with excellent metaphorical usage, backed up by scripture and his own interpretations of God to help men on their journey through life.

Armchair Interviews says: A fantastic book that guides men through the complexities and fog of modern life to find their one true path.

5-0 out of 5 stars An Important Book for All Christian Men to Read
There are a lot of Christian books out there for men--there are titles like Tender Warrior and Wild at Heart, to name a few.The reason for this is that, especially in the past century and during the past few years of the 21st century, men have had a hard time identifying with church, and thus identifying themselves as followers of God through Jesus Christ.Yes, there is a growth away from that view, when looking at such organizations as Promise Keepers, but still, I know a lot of men who just don't understand.I myself have been there, and many of the men I've known have been there too.Stereotypes of Christians are everywhere, they're called "anti-intellectuals" for believing in the Bible or they are called "feminine" if they enjoy church (church being a woman's place, as many stereotypes seem to employee). The book "Restless Journey" cuts to the heart of what we as men are looking for, what we as men are needing--not from the world, but from the source of all things, that is, God through Christ Jesus. This book begins your journey with questions, shows you a rough estimate of the problems and the questions you'll face.Ryan's book is not filled with cliché answers and simplistic designs.Ryan doesn't give you easy answers.Which is important, because we shouldn't ever trust the easy answers. We should, instead, trust in God who supplies the answers--even if those answers cut us the most because they hit us where we so desperately try to hide points of us from the world. This book will indeed give you a great jump-start, though, in your desires to grow stronger in faith and in love with the mystery and the truth that is our Lord God through Jesus Christ.Ryan's book helps you to realize that the greatest love, the greatest security, even through the roughest of weathers, comes from the One who KNOWS you the most--our Lord God.You and I are more than just "husbands" or "bosses" or "coworkers" or "students"--we are children of a living God through Jesus Christ.I recommend this book to all men, and even to all women who want to help understand their men's journey in life and in faith. ... Product Description
With startling frankness, Bill Perkins offers life-changing wisdom to help men find true freedom in Christ. Perkins shatters six man-made rules that sound good on the outside, but often keep men from reaching their full potential. He shows how breaking these taboos can help you break free to become the man that God created you to be.

  • The Rule of Passivity: Never Get In a Fight
  • The Rule of Playing it Safe: Never Risk It All
  • The Rule of Perseverance: Never Give Up
  • The Rule of Independence: Never Ask For Help
  • The Rule of Restraint: Never Lose Your Cool
  • The Rule of Impressing Others: Never Look Stupid

2-0 out of 5 stars Not a Men-Specific Book
I bought this book hoping to use it as a short study for a men's group. However, after reading through the first four chapters, I realized that nothing Perkins says in the book really pertains specifically to men, and nothing in the book would be appealing to unchurched men or marginal/new believers.

For whatever reason, Perkins misses the boat entirely with this book. While the packaging and title are very appealing, the contents failed to deliver a man-specific message with broad appeal. Inevitably, Perkins takes a left turn in each chapter as he ends up addressing issues which, although relevant to people who have been Christians for quite some time, invariably fail to connect with the chapter's prescribed topic.

For example, in Chapter One, "The Rule of Passivity - Never Get in a Fight," Perkins winds up talking about fighting legalism. While I agree legalism is a bad thing, it seems to me Mr. Perkins could have addressed a much more broadly relevant theme, such as fighting against societal norms that pressure men into destructive and self defeating behavior. Sure, legalism is something Christians should fight against, but it is neither specific to men, nor is it broadly relevant to men as a whole.

Chapter Two, "The Rule of Playing It Safe - Never Risk It All," again falls short as Perkins redundantly talks about legalism. Although he tries, Perkins fails to connect the chapter's topic convincingly to his diatribe against legalism. I would have expected the chapter to explore the risk of following Christ in such a way that one goes against the expectations of society and family to fulfill God's design for the individual. But, no, Perkins just blabs on about legalism.

Chapter Three, "The Rule of Perseverence - Never Give Up." Perkins talks about abiding in Christ. Great stuff for Christians, but again, not man specific and limited in appeal only to Christians.

Chapter Four, "The Rule of Independence - Never Ask for Help." Perkins takes a weird leap and talks about how we need to depend on God to give us a heart for the lost. Although I agree with the concept, again, Perkins seems way off topic.

That's all I've read so far. Although I don't disagree with what Perkins says in each chapter, I still have to say the book just doesn't resonate and seems to have been mistitled and mismarketed. Overall, this book would only appeal to Christians who are looking to examine church-centric issues. I think it fails where it could have succeeded spectacularly.

5-0 out of 5 stars Turn your world upside down!
This is a great book.If you truly desire to follow Christ and not man...this book is for you.If you are trying to please man, then don't bother! This book gives insight, strength, and empowerment to those who seek God's kingdom on earth.Jesus is our example and the legalistic structure of the Pharisees still exist today....many times in sheep's clothing..with "good" intentions.Break these barriers that man has made and draw closer to Christ and His purpose for you. Thanks Bill for your humorous examples, and being open and real!God Bless

5-0 out of 5 stars Shock and Awe
Bill Perkins has sent a ripple through main stream Christianity with this book.Bill has set a new standard for Christians to delineate the difference from God's law and man's rules. This book will stretch the mindset of any Christian. There is no harm in questioning the motives for the rules that were set before we were even born. Also, you don't have to agree with the author on every page, just think about what he wrote.

5-0 out of 5 stars 6 Rules Every Man Must Break exposes the false teaching of man-made rules...
"6 Rules Every Man Must Break exposes the false teaching of man-made rules..." This is a very true statement. Men have been castrated because of the fear of man due to these false teachings and man-made rules. Thank you Bill for your efforts ot expose this false doctrine, this disease that has so infected Christianity to date - even to the highest levels within the church. Jesus was NOT a wussy man, but he was in control of himself and obedient to His Father, what I get from reading what God inspired you to write AND from God's word, scripture. This book, along with your other writings (all I believe inspired and guided by God) has been a great relief to read because I truly believed what you put in writing before you actualy wrote it. I stand locked in arms on the front lines with you, Bill, I will fight the battle along side of you.

5-0 out of 5 stars Right On, Bill!
As a Christian pastor who's run into a lot of church legalism, all I can say about 6 Rules Every Man Must Break is "Right on, brother Bill!Right on!"You hit it square on the head.Your emphasis on a real relationship with our Savior Jesus causing good fruit to grow in our hearts and lives as opposed to manmade rules causing our sanctification is not only an important message -- it's an essential message. The Gospel, that we're freed from the curse of sin in Jesus Christ, is the power to release us from slavery to sin as well. The Law can't produce righteousness within us.It's powerless to do so.Only the Good News of forgiveness in the Savior can and does empower us to live our lives no longer for ourselves, but for the One who died and rose again for us.Only an abiding saving faith relationship with Christ can transform us inside and out. That's what Bill Perkins' book drives home with frankness and wit -- even laugh out loud humor! As usual, Perkins' points are punctuated with vivid examples from his own life experience.I highly recommend this read; and I pray that Bill's Biblical message will transform many, many congregations that were formerly clubs for the self-righteous into healing hospitals for repentant sinners. ... I am really enjoying this bible-so much that I use it more than my own women's bible.

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent Bible
I have had this Bible for awhile now and I love it.The translation is easy to understand yet also accurate.Basically, they started over with the translation, using the original Greek and Hebrew manuscripts.Whenver there was a discrepancy between different sources, they include all possible word choices.

Having the Bible retranslated into modern English is very nice.

I also like the devotional sections. They are geared towards men. They take real world items and compare them to what is happening in the Bible. You quickly see that the ancient text is still as relevant today as it was when it was first verbally passed from generation to generation.

5-0 out of 5 stars My husband really enjoys this book
My husband reads from this book and his Bible every night. I had ordered this book and another men's devotional book by a different author, but he found the other devotional book to be "too cheesy." This book, however, he really likes.

5-0 out of 5 stars The devotional I've found yet
This is by far the best devotional I've found yet.I have search for a devotional that mixes a scripture reading with insightful application and had been fairly unsuccessful until now.I have been reading this daily on my Pocket PC and completely love it.There are times I want to call all my friends to tell them about what I've read.I have been a Christian for many years and have solid understanding of the word.Taking that into account, I don't know how great it would be for a new/baby Christian.Nonetheless, I have tried many devotionals and this is my favorite by far!

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent Book

Product Description
Spiritually, men are frustrated today because they feel they are repeatedly coming up short or are in other ways unfulfilled. Like football players in the “red zone,” they are struggling to complete the drive toward integrity and intimacy with God.

That drive toward spiritual maturity requires both a shift of heart and a re-examination of the spiritual habits. What men lack today is, first, clear understanding of what God is really after in the relationship, and second, a clear plan connected to their goals that make sense practically and biblically. That’s what makes this book special: It specifically reveals God’s heart for men in the spiritual “red zone,” and sets forth the choices they must make to take the relationship with God all the way.

Like other books in the “Every Man” Series, Every Man, God’s Man boldly gets into men’s heads and gives hope. It helps them persevere in their pursuit of God. Provides new insight into God’s objectives for them. And brings them to the new place God is calling them–a place of completion in the faith. ... Read more

Good book so far (chapter 7), and has created some pretty good discussion in my men's group. It's relevant and worth your time.

1-0 out of 5 stars Absurd.
The gentlemen in this book have someone follow them around and refuse to allow themselves any contact with women because they feel they cannot trust themselves not to act like animals.

David was to be the future king of Israel. And yet, as you’ll see firsthand in this compelling Bible study, the journey to that goal was filled with dangers, delays, and difficulties.Just like David, every man has a dream of who he wants to become. But getting there is a different story. Hardships and losses can destroy the faith—and even the life—of a lesser man.

Many men fail to realize their dreams because they choose comfort over character, image over substance, and escape over endurance. But a man who knows how to embrace hardship and learn to mine it for God’s purposes will see his godly dreams come true. ... Read more
