RADICALLY IMPROVE The Life Of Your Child, Creating NEW HOPE
Elizabeth Scott has done the most amazing job of sharing her success story in curing her son's autism.It's most striking because it's personal and professional.Her teaching background and her co-author's occupational therapy expertise have been the two critical ingredients for expaining and proving that specific skills and drills for treating autism are succeeding.It's understandable (& important) that "critics" absorb this scientific breakthrough with caution.The skills and drills and THE AMOUNT OF TIME that was spent spent with Roman to re-wire his brain patterning has never been done and documented so closely.

It's an outstanding tool for parents to use with their toddler or young child with autism to help with their language development, fine, gross and sonsory motor skills. It is vital to teach these children how to sit, focus and learn.This program is easy to implement too.The more subtle aspect of the book is that Eliabeth is inspiring and excited in her expanations. This helps parents to create new hope for their child and to balance keeping their expectations realisitc yet very HIGH regarding what their child is capable of achieving.

I have seen Elizabeth and Roman on Good Morning America, heard Elizabeth speak on WBUR in Boston and read many reviews, including The Boston Globe and The Chicago Tribune.I have bought several copies of the book to give to friends and colleagues that have children with autism, sensory deprivation and even ADHD/ADD.These skills and drills work.They can also be adapted to help improve the learning capacity of older children and even adults.

I completely respect and understand the critics viewpoint.At the same time, I strongly encourage all readers to BE OPEN-MINDED that it is possible to treat, improve and even cure autism.READ THIS MANUAL, along with RAINDROPS ON ROMAN and keep your expectations HIGH!

Excellent Guide for Parents, Teachers and Therapists
Elizabeth Burton Scott and Lynne Gillis have created an excellent guide for parents, teachers and therapists. Their newly published 2010 Autism Recovery Manual of Skills and Drills is a must edition for at home and at school one on one play therapy. Not only does this manual present countless fun educational activities but explains how the play activity develops and improves the child participating. I highly recommend this welcome sequel to Elizabeth Burton Scott's book, Raindrops on Roman, Overcoming Autism, A message of Hope. It is most beneficial to all pre-school children especially those on the autism spectrum.

Excellent Resource

This book is a wonderful guide in working with and for Autistic children.I have taughtelementary school for thirty years and this book would have been a great asset.
With Autism, early intervention is key.This book clearly and precisely guides you through all the necessary and timely skills which children need to develop and learn.It is a very educational, practical and rewarding book and should be shared by all who work with Autistic children.
It can also be used for any preschool child to help to prepare them for Kindergarten.

MUST HAVE!!
After seeing Elizabeth Scott and her son Roman on Good Morning America I was excited to get her manual of Skills and Drills.It is a very practical and easy guide for children with autism and is an excellent early learning program for any child.It has so many great ideas that I can use with my four year old to help him to sit and focus on a variety of tasks while preparing him for Kindergarten.Now I am teaching him letters, letter sounds, numbers and shapes, along with many other concept skills.

It's amazing what he can learn while doing some of our daily rountines such as bath time.I loved the suggested activities such as flash cards for the tub and having him spell out his name and drawing letters while taking a bath. To know that her son has recovered from autism, using these skills and drills is just so encouraging to me!

I sincerely recommend this wonderful resource guide for all preschool children.

Good book for absence seizures
When my son was diagnosed with epilepsy, I was very surprised that this was the only children's book I could find on the subject. This is a good book, but my son suffered from grand mal seizures. This book is about absence seizures, in which you stare. It covered everything quite well and even mentioned other types of seizures. I would recommend, especially if your child suffers from absence seizures.

Great for Youngsters!
My 4 year old daughter recently had been diagnosed with Absence Seizures. This book was just what we needed.It gives her something to identify with.Lee also has Absence Seizures.Most of the other books I have looked at covered the Grand-mal Seizures.GREAT BOOK to help a young child understand in a simple way of what is happening to them.

Great book for kids dealing with seizures.
This book is very good to read to young children to explain epilepsy.It is put into simple terms and gives a good general explaination. The pictures are detailed, fun and colorful which will help engage the child's interest.This book is good for anyone who wants their child to learn that there should be no 'stigma' attatched to epilespy- it is a disease that can (in most cases) be helped with medicine. It would be excellent for a child recently diagnosed with seizues. It is good for a family which may have a child with epilepsy to help siblings understand what is happening.It is also a book which can be used in the classroom.It is brief yet it gets the message across.This book is part of a series of books about Special Needs and Deborah Moss (author)takes a very careful look at how a child might feel if he or she experienced seizures and that life continues and will be normal.It helps alleviate fears.It also works well because it portrays a rabbit instead of a child with seizures.I highly recommend it to everyone.I have not read the other books in the collection but I imagine they are just as good. ...
