1-0 out of 5 stars MajorlyDisappointing
If I had seen this item in person (in the bookstore), I would never have purchased it.Part of the product description reads: "Practical no nonsense advice and inspiration"-- that is where it falls way short: inspiration (photography), especially; to say nothing of the many dull sentences.I love brevity when it's meaningful, but the ho-hum sentences under many of the pictures were not the least bit inspirational, they were trite, which made them (coupled with the inferior photography) annoying. While the cover is gorgeous, the inside photographs fall way short. They are all black and white and gray, many of them hazy, some aren't in focus, many are vague and pointless as to "inspiration" - and virtually lifeless compared to the catchy cover picture.Furthermore, again, the one-line sentences are stale, not inspirational. My inner-core cried out:'I want my money back!'

The product description preview chooses the 3 best inside-book photos, leading the would-be buyer to believe there will be more of the same of at least that quality. But there aren't.This book was a complete waste of money for me.The product description further reads: "The illustrations on each page make this book as entertaining as it is thought provoking."For me, I was merely frustrated and severely disappointed that I bought this book sight unseen because I had expected all the photos to be at least as high-quality as the 3 previewed, and I expected some of them to be in color! The product description should emphatically state that ALL the pictures are black and white.Keep in mind, many of them are fuzzy and some of them are not the least bit inspirational or even that pertinent to the one-line sentence below them.

What would have made this book better? At least several COLOR photographs INSIDE the book - (other than merely the cover) - photos that were clear, in focus, and sentences that were relevant and appropriate, denoting enthusiasm, matched with carefully selected quality pictures.

5-0 out of 5 stars What a waste.
I know I didn't pay alot for this book, but I felt that it was a total waste of money. Each page is one sentence and a picture and it certainly did not contain any profound suggestions for healthy living (drink water?).

5-0 out of 5 stars Inspiring read!
This book makes complete and total sense. It inspired and motivated me to start taking better care of myself.

5-0 out of 5 stars Fun reading
I really enjoyed reading this book.If we all applied the principles in this book we would all be eating healthy and feeling great! An excellent source of inspiration.Loved the photos too!

5-0 out of 5 stars Motivational Gift Book
This is a great gift book written with simplicity, wisdom and good sense.Unless you are perfect and already implementing all the steps in this book, then it is sure to provide you with the motivation to try harder to look after yourself. ... Read more

Product Description
It seems like you hear it all the time from nearly every one you know – “I’m SO stressed out!”Pressures abound in this world today. Those pressures cause stress and anxiety, and often we are ill-equipped to deal with those stressors that trigger anxiety and other feelings that can make us sick.Literally, sick. The statistics are staggering. One in every eight Americans age 18-54 suffers from an anxiety disorder. This totals over 19 million people!Research conducted by the National Institute of Mental Health has shown that anxiety disorders are the number one mental health problem among American women and are second only to alcohol and drug abuse by men.Women suffer from anxiety and stress almost twice as much as men.Anxiety disorders are the most common mental illness in America, surpassing even depression in numbers.Anxiety is the most common mental health issue facing adults over 65 years of age.Anxiety disorders cost the U.S. $46.6 billion annually.Anxiety sufferers see an average of five doctors before being successfully diagnosed.Unfortunately, stress and anxiety go hand in hand.In fact, one of the major symptoms of stress is anxiety. And stress accounts for 80 percent of all illnesses either directly or indirectly. In fact, stress is more dangerous than we thought. You've probably heard that it can raise your blood pressure, increasing the likelihood of a stroke in the distant future, but recently a health insurance brochure claimed that 90 percent of visits to a primary care physician were stress-related disorders. Health Psychology magazine reports that chronic stress can interfere with the normal function of the body's immune system. And studies have proven that stressed individuals have an increased vulnerability to catching an illness and are more susceptible to allergic, autoimmune, or cardiovascular diseases. Doctors agree that during chronic stress, the functions of the body that are nonessential to survival, such as the digestive and immune systems, shut down. "This is why people get sick," he says. "There are also many occurrences of psychosomatic illness, an illness with an emotional or psychological side to it." Furthermore, stress often prompts people to respond in unhealthy ways such as smoking, drinking alcohol, eating poorly, or becoming physically inactive. This damages the body in addition to the wear and tear of the stress itself.Stress is a part of daily life. It’s how we react to it that makes all the difference in maintaining our health and well-being.Pressures occur throughout life and those pressures cause stress. You need to realize that you will never completely get rid of stress in your life, but you can learn coping techniques to turn that stress into a healthier situation. When I first got the assignment to write this book, I immediately thought, “Sure, you can eliminate stress and anxiety by locking yourself into a room and never talking to anyone ever again”.But that wouldn’t make a very informative book, now would it?I have suffered from anxiety disorders caused by stress for years.I have learned somewhat how to cope with that although I’m always learning new things and dealing mechanisms. So what I’ve done in this book is taken some of my own experiences and combined them with advice from experts to give you tools that will help you in stressful situations.I’ve also outlined different ways you can face debilitating anxiety and panic attacks that many people suffer from. While researching this book, I’ve come across some amazing information and can’t wait to share it with you.I’ve learned so much myself, so let’s look at how to eliminate stress and anxiety from your life! ... Product Description
Breathing can transform your life and make you a healthier, more relaxed human being. Dr. Bruce Frantzis has developed a Longevity Breathing program from traditional Taoist breathing methods to help you improve lung capacity, massage your internal organs, and relax your nerves with each breath.

Progression of 24 Sessions
Bruce Frantzis leads you through a progression of 24 sessions that help you extend the length of your breath and fully bring oxygen to the back and sides of your lungs, areas rarely engaged by shallow breathers.

CD-1 teaches you to feel your breath and avoid holding your breath. Next, you learn how to inhale into different parts of your body to strengthen and massage your internal organs and spine. In CD-2, Dr. Frantzis takes you further by teaching you how to lengthen your breath. Taoist breathing techniques enable you to become aware of your emotions and deepen your meditative focus.

This CD set is a companion to the breathing lessons in the TAO Meditation series: Relaxing into Your Being, The Great Stillness and TAO of Letting Go. ... Read more
