1-0 out of 5 stars It never arrived
Will never purchase again from Amazon, until they can ensure their vendors are reputable. The vendor I tried to purchase this item from never shipped it.They did quickly refund my money when I threatened to deny the charges to my credit card.Buyer be ware.

2-0 out of 5 stars 0146 takers
I was disappointed with this book. I took the praxis ii test 0146 Middle School Content Knowledge. The math review was a complete misrepresentation of what was actually on the test. As for the other subjects, the book is basically an outline describing all the things to study, but you will need many more resources beyond this book to really study. The practice questions are a little helpful but only a handful of the study questions were on the actual test. I only remember one for sure.
If you want an outline of what to study, this is the book for you, but it won't help you pass the test.

4-0 out of 5 stars Book
This book does offer what type of information you should study and practice tests, overall I think it is helpful

3-0 out of 5 stars too general for my tastes
I bought this book for the mathPraxis test, and did not realize the book covered all the middle school tests.I am not a teacher, but hoped to pass the math test. There was only one math test, most of which was covered in the Praxis web site.So this book was not veryuseful to me, but could be for someone wanting an overview of middle school Praxis tests.

5-0 out of 5 stars Good help in preparing for the Praxis
I used this book to prepare for the Middle School Content Knowledge test.It lists all the topics covered and gives many practice questions for each subject area.It also gives detailed explanations of the answers. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars A good start but....
I bought this book to prepare for a reading coach position. I was really hoping that it would be more specific- itreads more like an introduction to reading then something that really helps us who are teaching it. Most of the information was basic knowledge for teachers who are fairly with it, and vague in really giving concrete steps and ideas in the assessment process. Good book for beginners because it reads well and covers the bare basics, but for everyone else save your money.

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent service and product
Product is received before extimated shipping date. The quality of book was excellent.Would buy again.

5-0 out of 5 stars A critically important instructional guide
Now in a fully updated and expanded second edition, "Reading Assessment: A Primer For Teachers And Coaches" by JoAnne Schudt Caldwell (Associate Dean of the College of Education and Leadership, Cardinal Stritch University, Milwaukee, Wisconsin) is part of The Guilford Press educational series 'Solving Problems in the Teaching of Literacy'. Professor Caldwell provides classroom teachers and reading coaches with the information and tools they require to engage in the complex process of assessing the reading skills and needs of students. Practical strategies are provided for assessing students' strengths and weaknesses with respect to their literacy; how to properly analyze the evidence gathered through observation and testing; and making appropriate instructional decisions accordingly. Of special note are the sections devoted to new tools for assessing early literacy, guidelines for choosing among these options, high-stakes testing; and alternatives to standardized measures. Enhanced with numerous illustrative examples, professional development activities, and reproducibles, "Reading Assessment" is a critically important instructional guide and should be a core part of professional and academic library literacy testing and instruction reference collections.
