From the supplier: Farm equipment auctioneers, buyers, sellers, brokers, appraisers and dealers believe that the market has become a little soft. Sales data from auctions, however, indicate that there are several factors that affect sales and that small declines do not necessarily reflect market conditions. Meanwhile, 13 John Deere 9600 combines were auctioned in a dealer sale held in northwest Minnesota. The most expensive was a 1996 model combine with 527 hours that went for $96,000.

From the supplier: Manufacturers showed off a wide variety of new products at the California Farm Equipment show in Tulare, CA. Among the most interesting products at the event were Caterpillar Agricultural Products Inc.'s new Challenger 55 crop tractor, Wilcox Agri-Products' line of plows, chisels and tool carriers, Incorporamaster's novel one-pass tillage tool and Progressive Grower Technologies' electrostatic sprayers.

From the supplier: Purdue University economist Michael Boehlje predicts that, in the near future, large agricultural corporations will dominate farm production because of their efficiency. This will, in turn, stimulate intense competition among farm equipment dealers, forcing many to close down. Dealers who will be able to survive the shrinking of the market will have to invest heavily on providing adequate information about products to the large corporations.

Product Description
From Alice and Abe to Zeb and Zipper, an alphabetical array of guests turns out for the biggest birthday party ever. But Hooper Humperdink isn't on the guest list! Young readers will enjoy finding out why in this extravaganza of names from A to Z.This title belongs to the Bright and Early Beginner Book series, developed by Dr. Seuss especially for "Beginning Beginners" -- preschool children on the threshhold of learning to read. Using an exuberant combination of bright, bold pictures and rhythmic rhyme, Dr. Seuss introduces simple stories and concepts, adding a large helping of zany humour to help the youngest child make the all important connection between word and picture.Originally published under the pseudonym of Theo LeSieg, Hooper Humperdink! ? Not Him! is being relaunched with a stylish new cover design which reveals, for the first time, the true identity of the author -- Dr. Seuss himself! ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Great book!
My 3 year old son found this book in the library when we were on vacation. He loves reading books and remembers them so well.We read this book only 2 times and then he was saying lines from it.It is very catchy!I never knew saying Hooper Humperdink could be so much fun!Plus some of the names used in the book are names of his friends and he thinks that is funny!!As soon as we returned from vacation I came on here and ordered this book!I knew it was a must have.He pretty much has the entire book memorized!

5-0 out of 5 stars Wonderful book!
This was my children's favorite book back in the 70's and it was read so many times that it got quite beat up. Years later I went looking for it, hoping to give it as a gift, but found that it was out of print. So, I was absolutely thrilled when the book was re-introduced just in time for my first grandchild. The cover and the inside artwork has changed (even better than the old one). But the text is exactly as we remember it, with all the rhyming names of kids that are going to be invited to a big party. Of course, the host does not intend to invite Hooper Humperdink because he doesn't like him.By the end of the book he realizes that it would be unkind to exclude anyone. It really does teach children a wonderful lesson about being generous and not excluding anyone.I am so happy to be able to read this delightful book again.

1-0 out of 5 stars Not Worth It From a Seuss Lover
Well, after reading exhaustively the reviews, I thought this was going to be a great book.I was more than disappointed on multiple counts.First of all, let me say, I'm a true Suess fan.But there is a reason this doesn't show high on the popularity lists: 1) the storyline is uninspired at best, slightly inappropriate at worst -- the message of most of the book is a smart alecky exclusionary one -an anonymousparty thrower wants to exclude Hooper at all costs, but only at the very end, when they realize they are inviting everyone, they grudgingly decide they might as well include Hooper, too 2) the language of the book is quite dull, spending the majority of the book listing names of invitees that begin with the letters from A to Z -- it's not the usual Seussian fun in my mind. It's a little boring and tedious. They are so many that are better -- why waste your time?3) I'm not a big fan of the illustrator for this one -- someone other than Seuss illustrates the book.If it wouldn't cost me too much in shipping, I'd send this book back.I'd rather my daughter read a dozen other Suess storylines before I read this one again. This has opened my eyes to the fact that even Seuss can't have all hits all the time.

5-0 out of 5 stars Brilliant
I read this for the first time last Christmas, and the book has become one of my all-time favorites.Very fun to read, clever illustrations, and the kids (and I) love it.My 2.5 year old daughter reads along and relishes the more dramatic passages.Five stars!

4-0 out of 5 stars Fun way to do the alphabet
Who can resist a turn into the clasic world of the kind of bully that doesnt beat--just ignores? The narrator is having the birthday party of the century and has no plans to invite Hooper Humperdink.

As the guest list grows (via the alphabet) the party becomes just as extravagant--and it is just mean to ignore poor Hooper.

Besides being an alphabet book on the surface, this holds a great message of including others. ... Read more
