After 1986 reform policy (doi moi policy), the liberal culture of human rights has gradually gained ground as the result of both domestic and international factors. Two rights (the rights to property and the right to a fair trial) were selected for examination. From the findings of indepth investigation of advancement of these two rights, there is little doubt that the emergence of liberal culture of these rights has been established and become more dominant but s more reasonable conclusion for this thesis is that there is a hybrid human rights culture in Vietnam in the transitional phase which mixes successes and failures, and the liberal and socialist values. ... This book is a concise history of Vietnam and its relation to the US. There is a lot of geography and maps. The different Motagnard tribes are explained from the begging to their individual customs. The book also contains descriptions of other religions and cultural information from French colonialism.

Included are theater, painting, architecture, sculpture, music, and Ligature. Some legends are retold.

Even thought Ann Crawford is also a freelance photographer, there are no photographs in the book just a few crude sketches.

The author Ann Crawford spent two years in Vietnam with her army officer husband.

These film essays look at documentary filmmaking and news reporting on the Vietnam War. I read this book as part of a film class at in college. This book is best for a person interested in the representation of war, especially this particularily divisive war will be moved by reading this book.
