2-0 out of 5 stars Poor spelling, grammar and information is very minimal
As I was reading this book, it seemed as though the person that wrote it was from another country. That may very well be the case, and I have no problems with that. However, if someone is going to sell a book for Americans to read then it needs to be edited by someone who knows the language.

5-0 out of 5 stars Best book on travel photography I have found so far.
Excellent organization and approach to this subject.Has minimal illustrations, but makes up for that by looking at the ideas behind photography and travel ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Moose
The cover photo on your website attached to my purchase of this item is not the cover photo on the book I received. You have a photo of a stork (bird), my copy has a photo of the head of a male Moose (animal, not Peterson).I don't know which edition is the later. My edition is 2003, which is quite a while ago in the context of digital photography. The book is nonetheless a good read, interesting and informative. The only thing which surprises me is his recommendation of low resolution digital cameras. This is OK for the size of the photographs produced in his book, but more is needed for larger display prints.I wouldn't be surprised if Moose has changed on this issue since this edition of this book, because he would have had little choice but to do so as camera resolution is going ever upwards.

5-0 out of 5 stars Moose Peterson's Book on Wildlife Photography
The book arrived quickly and in perfect condition.A very good transaction.Thank you. This book is filled with great information about how and why Moose shoots the way he does.A very valuable resource for any wildlife photographer.

5-0 out of 5 stars Making the Subject Pop
If for no other reason, Moose's chapter on Making the Subject Pop is reason enough to get this book. The chapter is 38 pages long with lots of examples and suggestions.

Many times I see technically good images but the image does not pop. Then you look at images from successful wildlife photographers like Moose Peterson and many others.Their images have a special quality that makes the subject jump. And in many cases, the extra pop can be achieved through editing or a little more time for composition.

I've read this one chapter many times, and it is an important topic not covered by other authors. And the proof is in the result - an image with a small but important edit to make it "Pop" was selected as a winner for a calendar shot among more than 1000 other entries.

4-0 out of 5 stars Works for me...
I am new to digital photography and just bought a top of the line camera for wildlife/landscape photography. This book has gotten mixed reviews, so here's my offering as a "newbie" to the hobby. I haven't read any of Peterson's earlier stuff, so it is all new to me. From the first few chapters I have read, I like his writing style - very relaxed and pretty much a good mixture of technical/practical information. Yes, a good editor would help, but the content captures my attention more than the mispellings, etc. I purchased this book along with Tim Fitzharris' "Landscape Photography" (a five-star book, for sure) and feel I have made some good selections. Now I'm headed to the couch with a cold beer, some beef jerky and these books. Don't call me until next week.

2-0 out of 5 stars Not much here in my opinion
Moose Peterson recycles information he's written for magazine articles into this book about wildlife photography. Some of the pictures in his book are good, others are just ordinary.

The worst thing about this book is the poor grammar and spelling. Doesn't this guy have an editor?

I was really hoping for more from someone who is supposed to be a world famous wildlife photographer.

There is some information on digital here so I gave it two stars. ... Read more

A must have book.... So beautiful you want to have it on your table at all times.

5-0 out of 5 stars Beautiful, Uplifting
I took a chance on buying this book for my sister's birthday even though I could find no example of what kind of prayers were in it.I had seen some of the photography, though and I was impressed.I was not disappointed. The prayers are simple, elegant and inspiring. The photography is wonderful.I will post some images I snapped before giving it to my sister so you can see for yourself.

5-0 out of 5 stars Prayers through the Seasons
While I was at a local book store I saw and purchased a copy of "Prayers through the Seasons".I found that the photographs of the photographer David Middleton, who by the way was a major contributor to "The Nature of America", added emphasis to the prayers of Reverend Deborah Kaiser-Cross.

It is a wonderful bond of photography and short prayers. Each adds emphasis to the other.Definately of coffe table quality.

5-0 out of 5 stars Prayers Through the Seasons, for those who love God and natu
This book is the most wonderful collection of prayers and photographs that I have seen in a long time.Rev. Kaiser-Cross's prayers are beautiful and beautifully matched with Mr. Middleton's exceptionally inspirational photos.I would say this is a must have for nature lovers who feel the presence of God in the wonders of our natural world.

5-0 out of 5 stars Prayers through the Seasons
As a poet and lover of words, I find myself looking for visual stimulation. This special book surprised me with it's raw beauty.Nothing is more sacred than Nature. And Laurie Bohlke has created a special gift for the "tenderest" of us.I have to admit that I do not keep it with my "coffee table" books, but next to my best friends; the Dictionary and Thesaurus. ... What a wonderful book! My family loves being outdoors and watching wildlife; and this book tells a lovely story about a little duckling on the river and all the other animals he is seeing his first time out on the river. The photography is gorgeous and educational. It's better than an artist's rendering because you're seeing the real thing. My kids, my husband and I love the story and the pictures. This book has become the most frequently asked for story in our household. I highly recommend this book for young and old alike.
