4-0 out of 5 stars Lady Susan Is Like No Other Jane Austen Heroine
Lady Susan may not appeal to all of us ,but she did to me.Unlike all other Jane Austen heroines she is evil, scheming, and seductive. This novel may strike you as odd because it is presented in epistolary form(it's written in letters)but ,to me, that did not hurt the effect of thenovel.Lady Susan's wickedness is thrilling and the plot of the book wasfast-moving emotionally. You cannot fully enjoy Lady Susan until you havehad previous exposure to Jane Austen. I have read all of her novels andstories and this, one of her earliest works, stands out. It is short and awonderful quick-read.In the book, Lady Susan has practically imprisonedher daughter, Frederica, in a boarding school which she hates. She doesthis because Frederica will not marry the idiot that Lady Susan has chosenfor her. Then Lady Suasn goes to live with her late husband's brother,Mr.Vernon, and his wife.Mrs. Vernon distrusts Lady Susan and she is rightin doing so.I will not spoil the book for you, only state that it waswell worth reading.Of course all the loyal Janeites will know how thisbook will end, at least in one area of generality if not in theparticulars. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars This is the real one
This is the real one. Cheesy clones by Chopra and others, even using the same title, abound. This book actually includes a clear short and comfortable way to measure your own aging. Useful when you quit smoking, try a new diet, or enjoy a great relationship. Each time you can see how much younger (or older) it has made you. Everybody is different and thisquiet self help tool recognizes individual differences. The hypnosis chapters are my favorite. Its been a great gift.

5-0 out of 5 stars Colorful and fun pictures to help kids learn colors
I was surprised at the fun and creative art work in this book of colors. In its sixteen pages, the reader gets to explore eight colors:blue, yellow, red, purple, orange, green, pink, and brown. On every two-page layout, there are pictures of items that refer to the color, e.g., a whale, a lion, a chick, a wagon, socks, grapes, violets, pizza, a jack-o-lantern, a frog, a grasshopper, a pig, ice cream, a teddy bear, chocolate cake, etc.Kids will have fun recognizing the items that have been creatively depicted by Jane Conteh-Morgan.It's a sturdy board book with larger dimensions for smaller hands. ... Editorial Review

Book Description
Child Victims explores the range and extent of crimes committed against children and assesses their impact. The testimony of over two hundred children gives voice, for the first time, to their experiences, their views, and their needs. It examines how children attain the status of `victims' in the criminal justice system.Drawing on recent research findings, the authors examine each stage of the legal process that a child encounters, from the initial reporting of the offence, through police investigation, to the trial itself. They contrast the specialist response to victims of child sexual abuse with the experience of children who are victims of other crimes, thrust into an adult system which takes little account of their needs.Child Victims concludes by examining the role of support services and agencies dealing with child victims, and makes a number of key recommendations for future policy. ...
