Book Description
Your 7-step prescription for creating a compassionately competitive work culture

For centuries, leaders have been operating within a “control and compete” mindset. But times are changing. More and more, at the helm of successful companies, you’ll find a different sort of leader. Collaborators, not controllers, they are “square apples,” bold men and women who dare to create success by reshaping the workplace in unexpected ways.

In Apples Are Square, innovation consultants and celebrated authors Dr. Susan Smith Kuczmarski and Thomas D. Kuczmarski share with you the secrets of how to become a square apple in your organization. To develop their groundbreaking strategy for success, the authors interviewed dozens of leadership pioneers, including Craig Newmark, founder of craigslist; Mary Ellen Weber, former NASA astronaut; and NFL star Chris Zorich, whose personal story inspired the title of this book. With the tools in Apples Are Square, you’ll be able to take any bruised environment and reshape it into a positive force.

5-0 out of 5 stars Love Those Leaders
If you have ever worked with people who have these gifts it will bring a tear to your eyes. Should you lead others with these talents, thank you. The authors demonstrate the values in their writing. You can do it!

5-0 out of 5 stars An exceptional leadership book
I have read many leadership books that deliver the same theories and conclusions, however, Apples Are Square, was a book I connected with from the very beginning and could easily relate to. It had a very refreshing look at this important subject. I highly recommend this book to people who feel the "inner leader" starting to develop and for those who are in leadership roles that need to make changes to move their company/organization forward in the right direction or to realize, they are indeed, not leaders at all.

If you want a book that gives a unique perspective on leadership and can help you become a better leader in your personal life, community and company, I highly recommend this book.

Alexander H. Perry

5-0 out of 5 stars Shining the light on Leadership
Everyone who aspires to be come a better leader, whether in business, community affairs, or in other endeavors, should buy this book and read it--several times. All of us will benefit.

The authors show that while great leadership is absolutely essential to better organizations, it isn't or needn't be a highly technical matter. They show that great leaders are easy to find if we know where to look and what to look for. And they show how to do that.

First, great leaders aren't the rapacious, egocentric, greedy bullies who are too often romanticized in the popular culture. Second, they are all around us--if we only where to look and know what to look for.

The formula? Great leaders are service-oriented (toward clients, customers, constituents, colleagues, and emplooyees/subordinates alike, regardless of personal 'status"), collaborative, respectful, honest, and loyal.

Where do we find hese individuals? Not in the limelight. They're too busy enabling others to reach their potential. In other words, they are all around us--if we only where to look and know what to look for.

It's easy to become discouraged about the state of leaders and leadership these days. The Kuczmarskis show us a way up and a way out.

More good news: where do we find hese individuals? Not in the limelight. They're too busy enabling others to reach their potential. In other words, they are all around us--if we only where to look and know what to look for.

5-0 out of 5 stars Apples Are Square
After hearing an interview with the Kuczmarski's, I felt that the book might be a very good read. The authors sounded like they had a genuine passion for leadership based on sound values.

Our current negative perception of leadership has been generated by the misconduct and unethical behavior so often revealed amongst the leaders of corporate America as well as government officials. We have seen so many examples of what not to do that it is very refreshing to read this book that tells the stories of 25 leaders who showcase new values-based ways to lead. The Kuczmarski's have thoroughly researched their 25 leaders and have given the reader real life examples of the six critical values the authors deem necessary to lead successfully.

This book is exremely readable and could very well be used as a reality check on our current negative perception of leadership. The Kuczmarski's have shown that there are good leaders for us to emulate.

5-0 out of 5 stars Unique Perspective
What I liked most about this books is that it breaks away from the stereotypical leadership book. With most books on leadership, once you've read one, you've read them all--they all discuss the same leaders and the same leadership styles. Apples breaks from this mold--the leaders profiled are unique and have fascinating stories to tell, and the leadership paradigm presented is one I really believe makes sense. A refreshingly insightful read. ... Read more

Book Description

Offering a new perspective on the unique cultural influences of New Orleans, this entertaining history captures the soul of the city and reveals its impact on the rest of the nation. Focused on New Orleans’ first century of existence, a comprehensive, chronological narrative of the political, cultural, and musical development of Louisiana’s early years is presented. This innovative history tracks the important roots of American music back to the swamp town, making clear the effects of centuries-long struggles among France, Spain, and England on the city’s unique culture. The origins of jazz and the city’s eclectic musical influences, including the role of the slave trade, are also revealed. Featuring little known facts about the cultural development of New Orleans—such as the real significance of gumbo, the origins of the tango, and the first appearance of the words vaudeville and voodoo—this rich historical narrative explains how New Orleans’ colonial influences shape the city still today.

4-0 out of 5 stars The World that Made New Orleans
This writing covers a lot of territory in a relatively short space.I could have read much more. There are insights and clues into the life of New Orleans from its earliest days as a French and Spanish colonyandthe first African-American city in the United States. The author indicates the importance of the place historically, economically and culturally.New Orleansappears to have fallen off the radar of most Americans recently, probably due to the fact that most Americans get their information from TV and that medium, being owned an operated by a few corporate interests, has censored the story of the destruction resulting from an apparently avoidable disaster. But the mainstream media has also turned a blind eye to culture in general and that's why this book, and Sublette's other book "Cuba and its Music" are so important. It is as true today as it ever was that being literate is a good way to overcome widespread ignorance. So I recommend reading both of these books as great eye and mind openers.

1-0 out of 5 stars Not real writing
I understand that this is a "structure" or "form" of writing but too many teachers are only using this in their classroom. Professional writers don't write like this! You have taught the kids how to do well on a state test, but outside of 4 square can they process their own piece of writing? We are having a terrible time getting our students to create and process their own writing without limiting themselves to "the four squares."

Try it, use it - then put it away and let your students write!

5-0 out of 5 stars I LOVE 4 SQUARE!!
I teach 2nd graders, and I feel that 4 SQUARE is one of the best graphic organizers out there. The books do go beyond just organizing. They detail 4 writing styles along with examples and activities to help the children understand.

Not only are my 2nd graders are able to write on topic, they produce 4 paragraph papers by the end of the year!

I have been pushing 4 Square in my building for years. This year other teachers finally started using it.Now they come up to me thanking me for suggesting it. ... Read more

Book Description

Following up on the successful book 25 Houses under 2500 Square Feet, this title will continue to explore, though case studies, the joys of living in compact, well designed homes. The 25 houses presented in the book offer an extraordinary range of architectural solutions for designing functional yet exciting, dramatic living spaces within a small envelope. The houses will range in size from a few hundred square feet up to 1500 square feet of heated space. As with 25 Houses, projects will be located throughout the United States with some coming from Europe, South America, Asia and Australia.

Readers interested in building a primary residence, a weekend getaway, or a guest house will discover how architects, through the innovative use of common building materials and careful attention to space and light, are able to create dwellings that belie their small size.

The projects were selected for their excellence in design, innovative use of materials and methods of construction, each house comprises a case study that includes interior and exterior photography by some of the finest architectural photographers working today; drawings including site plans, details, and floor plans; and concise, informative text that highlights the design and technical aspects of the house.

Architects and architectural firms to be featured include: Lake/Flato, Olson Sunberg Kundig Allen, Archi-Tonics, Via Architecture, Dean/Wolf, Belmont Freeman,Hanrahan and Meyers, AC2, Frank Harmon.

4-0 out of 5 stars 25 Houses Under 1500 Square Feet
Overall well done... Just a couple of houses featured that I asked myself "why? They did not fit the pacing of the book" Others I'd like to have seen more pictures of. Overall well done though.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Residential Architecture series
There are a million residential architecture/design books out there, but in terms of quality of pictures and examples, James Grayson Trulove is the best. Makes a great coffee table book for any designer. Its mostly valuable as a visual resource (not alot of text).I love Trulove's message of quality over quanity - its better to have a small beautifully designed house than a mcmansion monstrosity.

2-0 out of 5 stars big disappointment
I'm an architect and was very much looking forward to this book as I am a fervent believer that bigger is not better.I am always searching for good examples of how to do things as efficiently as possible, which produces a better design and ultimately costs less.People do not need 3000 square feet houses.

I got this book for christmas and am very disappointed.
First, the editing is terrible. There are literally pages that are marked "lower floor plan" & "upper floor plan" which are blank.

Secondly, the majority of these houses are architectural follies. They are not "houses" in the meaning that most of us mean when we say house. They are playhouses - art lofts, guest houses, vacation houses, etc.How we live in a structure for a few hours of pleasurable work each day and how we live in our actual house varies greatly. How many of us recreate our same lives while we are on vacation? That is the whole problem with this book.It should rightly be called "Expensive architectural follies under 1500 square feet."

In reviewing this book there is nothing that will inform you how to live in a smaller space. There is nothing that will redefine the idea of house.

That being said there are some very nice pavillions.

3-0 out of 5 stars disappointing, but better than no book at all
I'm glad that the book exists - if James Grayson Truelove hadn't bothered to slap together this flawed survey, you'd not get to see these houses in any detail. But I enjoyed "Gwathmey Siegel: Houses" more, and even preferred other JGT archi-photo books to this one.Only 4 houses (of 25) had enough drawings and varied enough photos to see and make sense of the whole. Plan drawings are present for most of the houses, which is a step up from photos-only glossy books.Alas, they're small & unlabeled. In addition to the swap mentioned by other reviewers, p.30 is missing all its plans (typo/print-o), and p.128 has the 2nd/3rd floor plans upside-down from the first floor."How," you might ask, "could this idiot reviewer possibly complain about so simple a transform, which he obviously ought to be able to figure out?"Therein lies the problem with this book: In fact, it *wasn't* obvious how the house was arranged, because the accompanying photos were not comprehensive, nor documentary!Such is the case for most of the structures in this book: either multiple photos show the same angle, or they only really document one room in an entire design. To be fair, perhaps I should have realized this from the product description: 25 houses in 181pp. means only 7 pp. each. But with such a low page count, "white-spacey" layout, and largish photos, duplication is inexcusable.(N.B. Of 25 houses, 21 are modern-style.Just in case you were looking for -- or trying to avoid -- contemporary.)

3-0 out of 5 stars Was the editor on vacation?
This book has some interesting small houses, and does include floor plans, sections, elevations, and lots of photos (of varying quality). But the book is full of typos that anyone giving the book a last once-over should have caught: "and and", using "compliments" instead of "complements", and in one case (The Methow Cabin) the floor plan of one building was listed for both itself AND another, totally different structure (The Cavehill Residence). If you're looking for ideas, this isn't a bad book, but its size is unwieldy, its photographs in many cases just clearly enlarged from photos provided by the builders or architects, and there are more than a few errors throughout the book. I'd check this one out from the library rather than buying it. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars A recapitulation of the sixteen years of the best game show ever made.
In the late sixties and seventies, Hollywood Squares was my favorite game show. It combined some of the best jokes ever heard on television with questions that really made you think. Unlike many of the current shows that use only `B' class celebrities, the biggest and best stars appeared on Squares. Even older stars such as Gloria Swanson, Bob Hope, Glenn Ford and Henny Youngman all made at least one appearance on the show.
Peter Marshall hosted the show for all sixteen years of its original run and this book is his recollection of the most memorable moments. It is not a true tell-all book; there are times when he uses the "who shall remain nameless" phrase. One of the more interesting problems that Marshall had as host was trying to get the stars, especially the comedians, to shorten their monologues. In fact, he points out that one of the most difficult stars was Jackie Mason. Not because he had an attitude problem or that he wasn't funny, but because his jokes were too long.
It is obvious that Peter Marshall truly enjoyed his job hosting Hollywood Squares. He clearly had a lot of fun and that the overwhelming majority of the stars were easy to deal with and also had fun doing the show. That was one of the characteristics that made it so appealing. In the era of celebrity nastiness and bickering, this book is a pleasant reminder that it wasn't always that way.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Book by Joanne Dru's Brother!!
Peter Marshall(Joanne Dru's Brother) did a superb Job writing his book along with a small biography of his life and career as a game show host.Hopefully,he might someday write or encourage a biography of his sister, the beautiful and reknowned actress Joanne Dru.It would be a labor of love and a beautiful tribute!!So spread the word!!I'm sure that a publisher somewhere, especially in her home state of West Virginia would love to publish it!!

1-0 out of 5 stars Author, Author
An interesting document, and ok in the absence of other records of the time. It's too bad that Bill Armstrong (Squares writer, producer, legendary wit, broadly reputed source of Paul Lynde's best lines, and co-author Adrienne Armstrong's ex-husband) didn't live to have his name on a better book about a period he knew and could have described better than anyone.Unfortunately, Bill Armstrong perished, and others published.

4-0 out of 5 stars Interesting Read, But A Bit Short
Game show host Peter Marshall sheds some light on the famous game show and you can't lose with this much information to draw on.However, there are some missing goodies.

We are treated to a somewhat humble biography about Peter Marchall, but it's mostly forgettable fluff.Every celebrity from the show is listed in the voluminous Index with a select handful being recognized with a page or two of biographical information. Most notable are Rose Marie, Dolly Parton, Vincent Price, Alice Cooper, Wally Cox, Milton Berle, Ruth Buzzie, Jonathan Winters and, of course, Paul Lynde.Marshall mentions tons of jokes that each celebrity has aired with some funny personal facts as well. The jokes are truly funny, but we learn that most of them were not written by the stars and no credibility is given to those that did.You might think that some interesting personal trivia would be exposed, but Marshall is very protective of his gang.Even Paul Lynde's widely known personal sexual life is ignored, covered by Marshall's proclaimed naivety and replaced with a story about Paul's devotion to his dog.

It's still a great quick read full of jokes and some vintage pictures form the sixties and seventies. One of the highlights is a CD included that has 45 minutes of jokes from the television show. It's not Dolby Surround Sound by any means, but the point is the jokes and delivery and they are real side-splitters.

Example:Q:What fictional character ran around screaming, "I'm late, "I'm late"?Paul Lynde:That was Alice, and her mother's sick about it.

5-0 out of 5 stars A trip down memory lane
In the days when tv emcees were over-emotive, phony-sounding or even grumpy, Peter Marshall always came across as one of the "regular, nice" ones. His book, "Backstage with the Original Hollywood Square" is chock full of the show's anecdotes and the stories of what happened not only on the set but behind it, too. I read it from cover to cover without even thinking of putting it down for a second.

Marshall, who was host of the show for seventeen years, spares no one. He tells of the stars he liked and disliked. It's hard to read that the favorite star of many fans, Paul Lynde, was difficult, hard to please and drank so much of the time. But Marshall has kind words for Paul Lynde as he does for so many of those with whom he worked. I was particularly interested to find out how the stars "developed" their answers so quickly and so comically. That revleation was worth the whole book.

And Marshall delves into the inner workings of how the show came about, its producers and all those who made the show such a success. The book is written in a breezy style and it keeps the reader interested at every level. The icing on the cake is the CD which is included. Forty-five minutes of "outtakes" from the show are recorded and had me in hysterics the whole time.

Thank you, Peter Marshall, for helping us to remember what a great show "Hollywood Squares" was. I'm glad you're still having fun with it all these years later! ... Read more

Editorial Review

Product Description
One of the bestselling garden books ever is fresher than ever! Ready to inspire a whole new generation of gardeners. When he created the "square foot gardening" method, Mel Bartholomew, a retired engineer and efficiency expert, found the solution to the frustrations of most gardeners. His revolutionary system is simple: it's an ingenious planting method based on using square foot blocks of garden space instead of rows. Gardeners build up, not down, so there's no digging and no tilling after the first year. And the method requires less thinning, less weeding, and less watering."I found a better way to garden, one that's more efficient, more manageable, and requires less work," Bartholomew explains. Not surprisingly, his method quickly received worldwide recognition and has been written up in every major newspaper and gardening magazine. His book, which served as the companion to the nationally acclaimed television series, has sold over 800,000 copies. Now freshened with new illustrations, the book Ingram calls "the largest selling garden book in America" is reissued for the delight of a whole new generation of gardeners. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars A Masterpiece
This book is a well-written account of a bizzare episode in banking history. Employing well-researched fact, astute observation of human behavior, and occasional sprinklings of dry humor, Zweig manages to pen a very readable account of the rise and fall of a small bank in Oklahoma. Though criticized by some as being dry in parts, laden with banking jargon foreign to a reader not well-versed in commercial banking, I found it not at all difficult to get the basic ideas of the banking sins committed by those who brought Penn Square to its knees during the early 1980's. Zweig makes up for occasional- but I believe necessary- dryness with brilliantly entertaining accounts of the many people who had a hand in the debacle. All in all, I found it a readable and enjoyable book, and I think that anyone interested in banking or the oil industry would likely agree.

5-0 out of 5 stars Belly Up: This is where America is heading in 2006
Though this book relates to the oil crash in the 80's and the financial destruction of Oklahoma, more importantly, it demonstrates what is about to happen all over America. Read this book, folks, and realize; IT CAN HAPPEN HERE. (and will)

4-0 out of 5 stars Unbelievable that this could happen
Belly Up is the story of how a small bank located in a strip mall in Oklahoma City could cause the collapse of the giant Contentinal Illinois Bank, and the weakening of Seafirst, Chase and MichNat.Spanning locations from the gas fields of Oklahoma, the halls of Congress, a boardroom in Chicago, and the parking lot in front of Penn Square Bank, Zweig does an admirable job of weaving this saga through apt characterizations of the major players involved in this debacle. The effects of this bank's failure continue to be felt 20 years later and have shaped the banking industry as we know it today. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars thank you for speedy reaction
I am in Japan.
I am sutisfied with this product and parchase.
thank you !

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent transcriptions - just not for beginners
The good news is this book features strikingly accurate-sounding transcriptions. The bad new is this book features strikingly accurate-sounding transcriptions. Why the paradox? If you can play the songs as written, it sounds just like John Mayer. But the key word here is 'if'. I've never heard of most of the chords he uses on this album, nor have I ever seen them in any other song (and I've been playing for nearly ten years). His riffs are sickeningly complex, and his solos are no easier. After lots and lots of practice though, it can be accomplished, and it sounds great once it comes together.

3-0 out of 5 stars Good, but critical elements missing
I had hoped to buy this Easy-Guitar Tab in hopes of finding out what chords John Mayer was using for his hit "No Such Thing."

The guitar tab was fine, but lacked Mayer's fundamental chord structure, by not supplying his chord changes when they are most needed. The guitar chords totally lack the head of the song, which to me is the signature element of the melody. In other songs, there is plentiful chord structure. Why does this tab book not include the chords for one of his most notable and play-worthy songs?

I can only say that the authors of this book were negligent and intentionally so.I was not satisfied with my purchase, and would caution anyone who intends to buy this book with the thought of finding "No Such Thing" detailed in the book, when it is not.

5-0 out of 5 stars Good, just get the right one
Notice that there are 3 versions of this book - PVG, Easy Guitar, and Guitar TAB.Make sure you don't get the PVG if you are wanting to learn the guitar parts, as it does not have guitar tabs in it.

5-0 out of 5 stars If only all musc books could be supervised by the artist
John's training at Berkley definetly shows thru his playing on this record. This album shows off his left hand's impressive understanding and manipulation of theory and how it applies to tone, and the over all sound of the music." Neon " is the best example of where John's real talent and ability lie: his right hand. His rythum skill and techniques are beautifuly portraied in that song and several other layers in the background of the other tracks. To play this album, and understand the theory he used to write the album will make a better guitarist. ... Read more

This book has the best recipes for cookies and bars that I have found. I do a lot of baking for different groups in our church. Every recipe I have used I have had great reviews from the groups. The instructions are very good.

4-0 out of 5 stars Bars & Squares and yummies galore
I first saw this book at the local public library. It was on hold for another patron, but the librarian let me flip through it quickly. I saw so many recipes I wanted to try that it was scary.

Some of the recipes seem repetitive, but you get so many ideas and variations that it's worth the odd duplicate. I've made several of them for the police officers I work with (and they are a picky bunch) and never had any leftover.

The directions are clear & concise, the ingredients are generally common (I hate recipes that involve scouring the city for esoteric ingredients!), and the bars I've tried have been delicious. What more can an enthusiastic baker ask for? ... Read more

Book Description
This summer could be a disaster. Kendra's parents have invited Frank, a 15-year-old she's never met, to stay with them. And they've planned a goofy scavenger hunt for the kids, including Kendra's bratty younger brother. They have to race all around New York City and visit places like the Empire State Building and the United Nations to find answers. But once they get started, Kendra doesn't mind the scavenger hunt so much, mostly because Frank turns out to be just as interesting as all of the sights.

"With characteristic humor, tart language, and quick phrasing, Danziger's teenagers not only share a summer getting to know each other but also explore the riches of a city often perceived as dirty and dangerous." --Publishers Weekly

"Danziger handles [this] in her usual cheery, sympathetic way, with plenty of rapid-fire puns delivered by a cast of sane characters willing to recognize problems and talk things out." --Kirkus Reviews ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars A school review
Kendra Kaye is stuck in her hometown, NYC for the summer. Her little brother, Oscar Kaye (O.K.) is really getting on her nerves. But their parents have a surprise for them. O.K., Kendra & Frank, the son of their parent's friends are sent on an educational scavenger hunt through NYC. This is a great book.

5-0 out of 5 stars wonderful
I read this book for school and I think it's one of the best books I've read. It was an easy read and had a great story line. If you like reading... romantic (i guess) books this is for you. I don't think I would recomend it to anyone over 16 or so though. It was great.

4-0 out of 5 stars great book!
I have only read this book once but it was great! It was about this family who has one of there friends sons come stay with them for the summer. Well the daughter of the family and the Son of the other family become really close. Its all about what they do over the summer and all the adventures they have. over all its pretty good.

5-0 out of 5 stars How could you not??
I have read this book so many times I can't even count, when I first read it i thought it would be a cheesy romance novel and 2 demensional, but I am officailly IN LOVE w/ farm boy frank, the young romance-which I am waiting for-is so beautiful and "wow!" that I had to read it so many times, plus being from NY I could see where they were going and imagined a similar situation happening to me--It was amazing!

4-0 out of 5 stars All Grown Up--but Still Remember "Harold Square"
At 25 years old, I was describing this wonderful book to my boyfriend.I read it as a young teen, and the story still sticks with me today. This book is so charming, and with the scavenger hunt comes a great guide to NYC's cultural and historical landmarks, not to mention great people and FOOD! ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Thanks Darlene!
Ordered this book the first day available.Well written, lots of great pictures, very easy to follow and understand - like Darlene's presentations on HSN.This is pretty basic stuff but since Darlene could sell me sand by the truckload (insofar as sewing) in the middle of the Sahara, well, 'nuff said.Cannot wait until she gets a DVD ready for sale.I just always wonder why, as personable, friendly, helpful, and knowledgable as she is, she stays with this terrible line of products (Euro-Pro) when she could easily speak for any of the top of the line machine companies. Just as good as I hoped for, but be advised - pretty basic stuff. As always, thanks Darlene, and keep those tips coming! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars An Egg-cellent Little Reader!!
I bought this book (along with two other titles "Do Zebras Have Spots?" and "Do Cows Bark?") for my daughter when she was four. The first dozen times I read it to her, but after that, she read them to me!She loved the pictures and the questions, but I think she loved the interaction she had with me whilst reading them.

"Are eggs square, Momma?"
"Yes!"
(flip the page)
"Oh, Momma, eggs aren't square! They're oval!"

She's seven now, and these are still some of her favorite books ever.

The sentences are short and simple. The pictures (to include the see-through pages and the cut-outs) were perfect and inviting. And at the end of each book, there is a two-page spread that recaps everything they learned in the book.

I highly recommend this to all parents of little kids!

5-0 out of 5 stars Lots of fun!
I bought this for my 19-month-old daughter, and she loves it. It is fun for her to say "NO" when the books asks questions: "Do cats have round ears?" or "Are wheels star-shaped?" On the last page of the book are 8 different shapes in 8 different colors, and it's a great way to review the shapes while emphasizing their colors. The paper is thick enough for her to manhandle, but it still feels like a "real" book. ... Read more

I bought this book twice. My first one was ruined when my basement flooded. Patterns are relatively easy. My only complaint is I wish there was a picture next to each set of instructions. Book Description
A magic square consists of a series of numbers so arranged in a square that the sum of each row and column and of both the corner diagonals shall be the same amount which may be termed the summation. In "Magic Squares and Cubes" W.S. Andrews writes "The study of magic squares probably dates back to prehistoric times. Examples have been found in Chinese literature written about AD 1125 which were evidently copied from still older documents. It is recorded that as early as the ninth century magic squares were used by Arabian astrologers in their calculations of horoscopes, etc. Hence, the probable origin of the term magic, which has survived to the present day." Topics such as magic squares, magic cubes, the Franklin squares, magics and Pythagorean numbers, the theory of reversions, magic circles, spheres, and stars, and magic octahedroids, among other things. ...
