Oregon Plat Map of 1881 Shows off Oregon By Florice Paulson The Oregon Plat Map of 1881 lists 27 business places, two churches, school house and depot. The school house was on Spring St. (site of present elementary school). Prebyterian and Methodist churches were on their present sites. The depot was across the tracks from W. Lincoln ST. A lumber yard, operated by Lovejoy and Richards , was on the south corner of W. Lincoln and Market T. on the north corner of W. Lincoln and Market St. was the Oregon Hotel. Andrews and Marvin, dealers in country-produce, coal, salt, etcÖ occupied the property east of the tracks on the corner of W. Lincoln and Market Sts. Just south of this business Richards and McKee dealt in grian, seeds , coal and livestock. On the site of the old Gilbert, later Lappley garage, the first Observer office was run by H. Guric. The next structure was on the site of the old Opera House and was a wagon and carriage works perated by Geo.W. Getz and son. About on the site of the alley east of Madsen Park J. T. Hayes had agricultural implements. Next door was Hayes Bros. harness shop. Three buildings east of the shop are not identified. The present Netherwood block housed the Chandler House on the west side of the hotel on S. Main St. Harry Hull had a barber shop. T. Algard's Billard Hall was next and then J.W. Coward's shoe shop.

Background
By Harold Bell Wright and his son, Gilbert Munger Wright, who used the pen name John Lebar. Wright did a lot to help his sons establish successful careers. He undoubtedly did the most, and agonized the most, trying to help Gilbert become successful as a writer and producer. Speculation that Gilbert wrote the entire book while Dad added only his name to help it sell better is not true. In a letter to his son, Norman, dated February 10, 1944, Wright gave these details:

Description
Trade is a utility program that automates various functions that are useful in the technical analysis and trading of mutual funds. It uses the Investors FastTrack database of mutual fund data. Functions provided by the program include ranking, automated trading, analysis and optimization of automated trading strategies, portfolio FNU generation, generation and analysis of signals, and a powerful expression parser and FNU file generation tool.
Requirements
Trade runs on Win95, Win98, WinNT, Win2000, WinME, and WinXP.
Installation
  • Run the downloaded file to extract the files from the archive. If you are installing over a previous version, it will ask if you want to overwrite existing files. Type the letter 'a' (for All) when it asks "Overwrite (y/n)?", and it will replace all the earlier trade files. Read trade.doc for instructions, and changes.doc for changes in this version.
  • Download trade301.exe (282,624 bytes, last updated 12/2/2002).

    Police Reports:
    On 3/14/03, Sheriff's Deputies, while on routine patrol on SR 481 in the Town of Scriba, stopped a pickup truck just south of Churchill Road at 6:20 a.m., after it was observed traveling at a high rate of speed. Further investigation found the driver, James W. Hilton, 53, of 207 South Putnam St., Syracuse, NY, to be operating an uninsured and unregistered vehicle, while driving without a valid NYS driver's license. He was subsequently ticketed for Speeding over the Maximum State Speed Limit of 55, Unregistered Motor Vehicle, Uninsured Motor Vehicle, and Aggravated Unlicensed Operation. Hilton is scheduled to answer the charges before Town of Scriba Court on 3/27/03. On 3/17/03, Jamie J. Avery, 33, of 501 CR 29, Oswego, NY, was arrested based on a Family Court warrant charging him with violation of Article IV of the Family Court (Failure to Pay Support). Avery was arraigned before the Hon. David Roman, Oswego County Family Court, and released on his own recognizance. He is scheduled to return to court on 3/21/03.
