Educational Resources
The NOAO Educational Outreach Program was established to make the science and scientists of NOAO more accessible to the K-12 and college-level communities. Below you will find links to more information about opportunities and resources for teachers and students . We also have several ways for undergraduates to get involved in research oportunities, as well as some exciting opportunities for recent Ph.D. recipients of outstanding promise. Facilities and Centers
NSF astronomical facilities and instrumentation are available on a competitive basis to qualified scientists from all over the world. Telescope time is assigned after judgment of research proposals on the basis of scientific merit, the capability of the instruments to do the work, and the availability of the telescope during the requested time. The AST Division supports the following facilities and centers:

Project ATMOSPHERE
Project ATMOSPHERE is the K-12 educational program of the American Meteorological Society (AMS), charged with enhancing the teaching of atmospheric sciences in elementary and secondary schools. The program, funded by the National Science Foundation (NSF) with support from both NOAA and the AMS, is an evolution of the education initiatives adopted by the AMS to promote pre-college science education utilizing the study of weather, ocean, and hydrologic topics to stimulate interest in science and mathematics. http://www.ametsoc.org/amsedu/aera/index.html
National Council of Industrial Meteorologists Summer Intern Program
The National Council of Industrial Meteorologists (NCIM) Summer Intern Program provides internships with a firm having an NCIM member. The intent of this program is to provide work experience for up to four students nationwide to help defray their expenses for working at an NCIM member's business. The program is not intended to replace regular wages paid by the business for summertime employment. Applicants must have successfully completed not less than two years of study at an accredited institution and must be enrolled in, or plan to be enrolled in, a course of study leading to a degree in the atmospheric or related oceanic or hydrologic sciences. http://fma-research.com/ncim-int.htm
